Acoording to Nicolo Shhira MoR has already agreed terms with Atalanta. All that's to be agreed is the fee for him. With them agreeing a deal with Juve for Koopmeiners for €50m I can see this being sorted out by the weekend. All ties in with us being linked to Arne Engles out of no where, likely MoR replacement.

I remember reading about 10 days ago that he had supposedly agreed terms with Atalanta so nothing has changed really. I'm 100% certain he will be gone before the window closes and as long as the club receive the figure that they are looking for then we move on. It's then all about who we will get to replace him.

Ando, it was a daily record article. If the price is met and O’Riley wants it then it’ll happen, it’s very unlikely we’ll get a ready made replacement but these things happen at Celtic, someone will emerge or we’ll be shopping (and getting frustrated) in the difficult January window.

Hi Ed, not sure if someone's already posted it or you've discussed it on the podcast but is there any truth Celtic are in talks with two top 6 pub league teams about selling O'Riley before the Euros? I expect him to move on in the summer and maybe they're trying to cash in early to fund a rebuild on the first team?

Borussia Dortmund sent scouts but have identified a preferred option. Atletico Madrid may return with an offer to buy the player in the summer and should not be discounted.

I meant up until the season before we signed GG mate, think he had more goals that season than he did in his entire career up until that point. Ioannidis looks to be on a similar curve, 25 goals before this season and 14 so far so he could well match his career tally. If the manager genuinely wants him then let's get it done.

Alot of them are penalties but he seems a bit wasteful with chances. He's only 23 so I guess his career is kickstarting. Previously linked Pavlidis looks better imo but AZ will likely want top dollar for him now.

Whatever striker we sign, we need to either get our wide men to improve their wing-play and crosses or we need to look to add to that position as well. So far the majority of our wide men are not beating their man, hitting the by-line or delivering decent balls in the box.

Hey Ed. Have you heard anything concrete about our interest in Rob Holding? A few stories are saying we're in talks with Arsenal. Seems a strange one for £8m as he's more comfortable at RCB and he won't be dislodging CCV from the team.

Absolutely embarrassing. Constantly gave the ball away in criminal areas pure schoolboy defending. We must concede more goals than anyone in Europe with deflections or getting a toe in that tees them up for easy finishes. We never defend the 2nd ball well. Dortmund didn't look great at the back themselves and we should've punished them with a few more goals. Our midfield was anonymous most of the game and barely put in a tackle. I get we're a front foot team and only know one way of playing but we shouldn't be conceding sixes and sevens, we need to be better organised and tougher to beat.

As bad as tonight was a bit of perspective required. We are playing teams worth hundreds of millions who play high calibre teams on a weekly basis. Our campaign is based on reaching the last 16 and anyone who thinks differently should give up watching as they don’t understand football.
The manager needs to be more defensive in the remaining away games and arguably also at home v Leipzig. The other games we play the same style that battered Slovan. I still think we will qualify however lessons must be learned.
Some players have proven they are out their depth such as Taylor and as unpopular as it will be on here Scales.
They need upgraded and Valle should now be given a run.

You cannot go toe to toe with these teams in Europe. You have to play more defensively or else last night will happen more often than not.
We can play offensively in SPL because we are better than the other teams but not in Europe
It was a bad night all round, no one got pass marks including BR.
We moved in and hopefully learn.
We really need defensive upgrades. I have said it before, spend good money here we need it, in defence.

Our race is not determined against the likes of Dortmund, or other elite teams. Our race is to move up a level and possibly qualify. Those teams have got their eye on winning it, we simply cannot. Sky Sports deadline day has wrongly mentioned at the bottom of their page, that both England and Scotland transfer windows close at 11pm.
Scottish doesn’t close until 11.30pm.
It was previously one hour after the English but now it’s only 30 minutes later.

Big week ahead for us Bhoys. Woke up and read all the rumours ahead of Friday's deadline day. CL draw Thursday and a beautiful Sunday to look forward too. My biggest concern, along with the rest of us is that it's took so long for movement to happen. I'd have liked a few of these in and settled by now ready for Sundays game. Especially after losing our most influential player. Big chance to open up a 5 point gap hopefully some of the signings can contribute to a bunskelping.

In terms of our squad and current rumours floating about would people be happy if the window closed and we managed to move on Largerbielke, Kobayashi and got in O'Shea. Got in Wijndal/ Beck. Kept MoR and signed McCowan and Mejbri on loan with Iwata and Holm going out on loan. Sold MJ and loaned out Yang and got in Skov? All are likely not going to happen in 13 days but if the rumoured players was to sign that would be a great window for us. Isn't exactly asking the board to push the boat out and the outgoings would pay for the incoming players. 2 fees, a free transfer and 2 loans.

I still think the Board will get the offer for MOR, they are holding out for and if he agrees to move, there's no reason that most of the above permutations could work - time and agreement permitting - as the cash is there. This is a great opportunity for our Board to back BR with the quality he wanted to progress the team forward and as well as cementing domestic dominance, we can improve in Europe.

{Ed007's Note - I was speaking to Mikey about this yesterday and he was telling me that Atalanta want MOR to replace Koopmeiners who Juventus want but won't meet the €60m asking price hence the Juventus "interest" in MOR but I think they are just toying with Atalanta with that.
If/when Koopmeiners makes his move to Juventus I'd expect Atalanta to firm up with more serious offers for MOR.
I've said it on here and on the podcast that I would be really surprised and disappointed if MOR left us for Southampton. To give up playing for a Club the size of Celtic and all that entails, the chance to win more trophies & CL football to go and play in a relegation dogfight with one of the favourites to go straight back down would be crazy imo, if he leaves it should be to another CL club.}

Totally agree ED, I think the transfer window is only just starting to pick up unless you are a club looking for free agents and players in the £1-£2m range.
It was interesting reading that Jim Duffy was defending Celtic after Keivins was having a pop at Celtic, Duffy was saying that you can't compare Celtic with Rangers as we are looking at a Totally different standard of player.

Let's get a couple of things abundantly right, Southampton are a much bigger football cog than Atalanta, absolutely no comparison, atalanta have produced who? They play in a half decent standard (corrupt) league, decent players, embarrassing fan base for stature, Southampton are one of the top youth system clubs in all of England, have a decent size fan base and can absolutely attract players we can't! As to can atalanta.
Neither are celtic, will never be celtic, ambition from a celtic player to go to Southampton or atalanta is ambition of greed alone, it's not about trophies, maybe play against better players regularly, increase profile domestically, but not play for or be loved on the same level as celtic!
There is no arrogance about this, Southampton or atalanta are a downgrade from celtic on every level except wages.

I'd still rather we loaned out Holm even if it's just until Jan. The boy needs regular. He looked good in pre season but getting the odd 10 mins here and there when the games fizzled out isn't going to develop him.

Mark Cooper is meant to be a talent spotter in South America. Probably some names that's popped up on the radar since he's joined the club. Maybe see a few more South Americans in future windows being signed.

If it takes £5m and MJ to get Trusty over the line then it is what it is. Never seen Trusty play but getting someone off the wage bill who hasn't contributed much to the first team and getting a key position sorted out for £5m is fair business.

Tough shift for all in defence but Taylor was up against Adeyemi who is absolutely rapid. He done to Taylor what Maeda does to defenders week in week out. He is out his depth in Europe as well as the rest of the defence.
