I read a great article by brilliant Celtic Historian David Potter.
It was thought that Celtic changed from vertical stripes to Hoops, for our first league game of the season, on August 15th 1903.
But David isn't convinced because the change wasn't mentioned in the match report but the change of strip was mentioned a fortnight later, when Celtic played their 2nd home match of the season.
David thinks that newly formed East Fife, might have worn the Green and White Hoops a fortnight before Celtic because a newspaper report confirmed that East Fife, played their 1st ever competitive match in the Hoops.
He also wrote that Hibs occasionally wore the Green and White Hoops before Celtic were formed.
It is also thought that Dundee Hibs ( Dundee Utd ) also wore the Green and White Hoops, on the odd occasion.

Also in 1903 Aberdeen FC were formed.
The original Aberdeen FC were formed in 1881 and they then amalgamated, with 2 other clubs to form the 1903 Aberdeen FC.
The 1903 Aberdeen, played in the minor Northern league.
They joined the Scottish Football League in 1904 in the 2nd Division.
Aberdeen finished 7th in a 12th club league in their first season.
In 1905 Aberdeen joined the 1st Division due to league reconstruction and a bigger 1st Division.
Aberdeen have stayed in the top flight ever since and have never been relegated.
About 20 years ago Aberdeen finished bottom of the Premier League but they were saved from relegation, due to another league reconstruction.
