McGinn being heavily linked for a move to us. what's your thoughts? Personally, I can't see where he would fit in at the moment so is he willing to sit on the bench until he gets his chance? I don't think he would be too happy with that because there is no doubt he's a player who wants to play.
So, it's a no from me with the money better spent elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree1

Iv not seen much of him a keep hearing he’s broonies natural successor but does he get about the pitch making tackles? Can he drive a team on? Can’t make a call as I haven’t seen much of him but Broonies boots will be massive to fill.

I don't watch Hibs so i will base my opinion on his performances against Celtic and performances for Scotland, particularly against Holland. Yes i think he is good enough to play at CP. Too many comparisons with S Brown, let's compare them when S Brown was McGinns age that would be fairer. S Brown has taken years to become the player and legend he is now. McGinn would be a welcome addition imo and would become an even better player coached by BR and training and playing alongside our squad.

I remember Broonie's early appearances with us and he was nowhere near the fine player and great leader he is today; so BR must see enough potential to work on - and competing/ playing with better players will only bring out the best in him sooner or later.

Remember when Brown first arrived he had a lot of personal problems with his sisters illness to deal with aswell as a big move.

Scott brown will end his career With us and he will have to be replaced by someone at some point.
I reckon KT would be the natural successor as captain, as for the midfield position it’s not a bad shout looking at McGinnis, a Scottish born, Celtic supporting, hard working player. Ideally someone who comes in will the potential / talent and becomes a mainstay of the team for years.

Realistically it’s big boots to fill and I doubt we will get it right first time.
Am I right in saying broony will be the longest serving captain / midfielder since the maestro?

I just don't see him playing the role Brown does. If Armstrong leaves, I'd take McGinn. If not, then either McGinn or Armstrong would be getting waisted so I'd lean towards not bothering.

29 May 2018 10:17:05
McGinn seems more of a box to box midfielder like Ntcham and Armstrong. If we sign McGinn does that mean we'll sell Armstrong? Surely Bitton has got to be sold too. But where does this leave Kouassi as BR has been saying he sees him as Browns natural successor.

29 May 2018 11:17:36
Exactly Bravetart. McGinn doesn't protect the back line and break up play the way Broony does. He's box to box and more of a creative influence in the attacking third.

29 May 2018 11:42:39
No brainer for me been saying for ages we need to sign this bhoy think eds been banging the drum as well.

{Ed007's Note - McGinn's the only player in Scotland that I would sign and he's the ideal replacement for Armstrong if he leaves.}

29 May 2018 14:04:46
If Armstrong was to leave we could have Brown, Ntcham, McGregor, Kouassi, and McGinn fighting for the central spots, with McGregor able to play elsewhere i'd be more than happy with that considering the amount of games we will have to play again, not forgetting possible injuries throughout season. I think McGinn coming in will depend on Armstrong leaving, and possibly Bitton. Would we go into the new season with Brown, Ntcham, McGregor, Armstrong, Kouassi, Bitton and McGinn? Add the wingers and guys who play the No 10 role that's a squad itself.

29 May 2018 15:11:13
Armstrong out and McGinn in or Armstrong to stay happy with either. Looking forward to seeing Lewis Morgan and possibly Christie this season. Delighted with Rogic getting tied up and Ajer KT also we are strong before additions. For me a RB CB and striker. I am just looking forward to see the level of player we are looking to bring in.

29 May 2018 15:27:34
Me to ed he's the only player a would take, the argument that there would be to many midfielders i don't get, it's about competition wee McGregor is the prime example had to bide his time and when got the chance took it. top clubs like city are constantly strengthening and i am not classing us with them but it's the same theory.

29 May 2018 16:03:49
The good thing also Mally is we now have players who can play centre mid, out wide or the No 10 role, McGregor and Morgan being examples. I'd go as far to say this is currently our best midfield since 2003.

30 May 2018 00:02:36
The argument rather McGinn protects the back four as well as Brown does is rather stupid We are not Privvy to the instructions given to McGinn by Lennon, who may encourage him to play more of a box to box role.

30 May 2018 00:06:24
how much is mcginn worth just now if we want to sign him, i know there is talk of 5mill but that is surely exaggerated and i know we want to off load allen but at this stage in his career what is he worth.
