Some good news rumours that the club are going to pay off big commper and cut there losses. think he should be paying us.

Mallythetally67

1.) 15 Aug 2018 19:50:07
Don`t understand this being good news, whole affair been a shambles.

2.) 15 Aug 2018 19:58:11
Have you been reading the NewsNow website mate?
Thats where I read thje same rumour.

{Ed007's Note - Did I not say this days ago or at least last night?}

3.) 15 Aug 2018 20:11:18
Anybody know how far away is the Arzani deal away from happening?

4.) 15 Aug 2018 20:41:15
Only Celtic can make a bad news days some how good news. and yet, still no signings imminent.

5.) 15 Aug 2018 20:45:47
If we are getting rid of him and boyata you'd think there must be a CB coming in eh ed007?

{Ed007's Note - Yes, Rich there'll be a new CB brought in when Compper and probably Boyata leave.}

6.) 15 Aug 2018 20:58:42
How do you know there are no signing imminent?
Because its not all over the MSM like every Sevco signing is?

7.) 15 Aug 2018 22:53:49
Any names Ed? I see Diego Reyes is still a free agent after leaving Porto. Surely he’d be worth a punt.

{Ed007's Note - I'll be honest with you mate, I don't think the Club have identified anyone and that's the problem with Rodgers not wanting Boyata sold, I think the Denayer stuff showed how desperate it is.}

8.) 15 Aug 2018 23:15:35
Thats criminal if that’s the case. Surely we should always have a shortlist of targets for each position. I think a right back is just as important. We are so unbalanced and predictable. Forrest needs a bit help down that side.

{Ed007's Note - There'll be a list but I mean it doesn't look as if they've identified specific targets. Rodgers himself said we were waiting until the English window closes which suggests to me there isn't any targets on the continent and that if we're were waiting until the English window closed we didn't really have any specific targets.}

9.) 15 Aug 2018 23:38:51
Unbelievably disorganised if true regarding possible signings, does Congerton really exist?

{Ed007's Note - Congerton only in charge of finding players, not signing them.}

10.) 15 Aug 2018 23:52:17
So with the time we have now will we hopefully be used to get people out first then see what we can bring or bring n first Ed what do u think?

{Ed007's Note - Yes.}

11.) 16 Aug 2018 06:42:39
Jonbhoy - imminent means asap. I know because I am right. Quite obvious really.

12.) 16 Aug 2018 00:32:12
Oh well we will c then not sure if we have the time or money to do it but let's hope we can ED any further news on Arazani joining us?

{Ed007's Note - Yeah we'll definitely struggle. It's not like we've got circa £30 million banked plus season ticket money and sponsorship money with over two weeks to go in the window.}

13.) 16 Aug 2018 12:59:39
As far as I'm aware Congerton produces a list of players for each position to Lawwell and it's down to him to negotiate the deals, I may be wrong. So it'll likely be Lawwell that settles for the usual cheap option/ project. I don't see how BR can take the flack for the duds being signed do you really think he specifically requested we signed all them players in January?

14.) 16 Aug 2018 13:16:56
He did specifically ask for de vries and Hendry.

15.) 16 Aug 2018 15:01:22
Eds spot on in regards to congerton, same with park the scouts get nothing but abuse for us not signing players

or even for signing duds like pukki, amido balde etc

but at the end of the day they make lists and the board choose the cheap option then it's no their fault.

16.) 16 Aug 2018 15:06:10
😂😂i like it ed, some dry sarcasm.

09 Aug 2018 12:44:49
Supposedly signed 18yo cb from auxerre who's never played a senior game. marvellous.

Mallythetally67

1.) 09 Aug 2018 13:03:55
Aye for the development squad mally.

2.) 09 Aug 2018 13:07:30
Anno kev but should it no be for the first team we need players that are ready to play he might be 2 years away time will tell.

3.) 09 Aug 2018 13:25:05
Have we to stop bring in young players to our youth development just because we also need first players like?

4.) 09 Aug 2018 13:47:42
Nope not saying that just saying a would rather see ready made players coming in just now.

5.) 09 Aug 2018 14:24:03
We all would mally but I think because we had a bad day yesterday fans are ready to turn everything that isn't a player being signed as a first team player into a negative.

6.) 09 Aug 2018 14:40:18
Fair point kev am just a bit pissed off the day with the way the club is being run regarding transfers.

7.) 09 Aug 2018 15:18:24
Guys let's settle down. I'm disappointed missing out on McGinn. I would rather we sign and settled players in early in the window. But there is still 3 weeks still to go.

8.) 09 Aug 2018 17:20:34
How many windows do you need let down in before your going to realise that we are always left underwhelmed? After the young Aussie, no one will come in unless someone is sold, I gave this scenario in June and was laughed at, yet again it’s coming true unfortunately.

9.) 09 Aug 2018 17:50:04
You hardly need to be a Sooithsayer to predict that. I can go back 20 years at least with the same rubbish. The trouble is, we never learn. We always hope, this time. Never feckin happens. It looks highly unlikely, we will still be in the CL next Tuesday night. If that happens we can forget quality signings. Not that we would have got them anyway, but the tin hat on hope dies if we get handed our arse in Athens.

There’s a chance we can win over there. Not if we play like we did last night. Toothless and ran out of ideas. I wish we had their defence. Showed hows it’s done, while we have away another pathetic goal.

10.) 09 Aug 2018 21:51:16
I hear this 3 weeks left in transfer window, who cares when we have 1 week possibly left in the money pot champions league

If we go out and I think we have to admit it’s more likely we will given our record away at times then you can be sure that we will not sign any player of note for the Europa league

BR is clearly unhappy, and if we go out next week then I think this will just add to the cracks that are clearly forming between him and Pedro

100% hope we pull out a performance next week and that a miracle happens and Dembele makes it 🙏.

11.) 10 Aug 2018 05:55:06
How many first team games did Odsonne Edoard play for PSG?

Does the lack of first team appearances for the big European sides matter if they can cut it for us?

For all we know, the lad from marseille could be a step up from Ajer and a real gem.

07 Aug 2018 18:05:55
Ntcham declared fit for tomorrow. thank the Lord.

Mallythetally67

1.) 07 Aug 2018 18:16:40
And Thor. I pray to him.

2.) 07 Aug 2018 19:47:44
@Magicpole: whatevers thor go to the docs mate, you can get cream for it these days.

what about the Lord. Thank Him.

3.) 07 Aug 2018 19:54:12
Much more interested in Ntcham being fit than the McGinn saga for sure. Good news.

4.) 07 Aug 2018 23:08:28
Thor is the lord of thunder or so Jeff Goldblum says so I must be true and he is bound to have had apart to play in Ollie being fit. Now if we can only catch the Rangers sort out a transfer policy spend another 9 million the fans May settle.

5.) 08 Aug 2018 14:05:20
Peter I don’t believe The Lord exists. I’m sticking with Thor.

07 Aug 2018 13:42:48
Sky reporting we've rejected a bid for boyata.

Mallythetally67

1.) 07 Aug 2018 14:55:15
BBC also with statement from BR.

2.) 07 Aug 2018 15:06:38
Is McGinn having a medical at Villa as well? If so then massive slap in the face for the board.

18 Jul 2018 07:48:59
Mcginn travelling with hibs so looks like that rules him out our qualifiers if he signs.

Mallythetally67

1.) 18 Jul 2018 08:35:20
Only if he plays mally HH.

2.) 18 Jul 2018 08:56:59
Correct Bob but why take him if he's signing allegedly today.

3.) 18 Jul 2018 09:28:41
All part of the negotiating process mally, it's a mild warning from Hibs to Celtic, pay up or we'll play him and then he can't play for you even of you do sign him afterwards. HH.

4.) 18 Jul 2018 10:19:28
He won't be a starter in the qualifiers anyway.

5.) 18 Jul 2018 11:49:00
Yeah he wouldn't be first 11 but would be good to bring him on or back up if there is an injury.

Wish we would just get the deal done. Getting tired of the way we do business. Rarely get business done quick.

6.) 18 Jul 2018 12:41:07
If we need to shut down an away leg he would be an ideal inclusion. Why don’t we just offer s fair price. £2m isn’t.

7.) 18 Jul 2018 13:31:26
If we want shut down a game we can bring on out and out defensive midfielder in Kouassi.

8.) 18 Jul 2018 15:13:38
If Brendan fancied kouassi he'd have played more than he has but he clearly fancies mcginn.

9.) 18 Jul 2018 15:33:41
Brendan has commented a few times that he likes kouassi.
He has said the only reason he hasn't played more is because he is in direct competition with Scott brown for a place in the team.
He had no fear in playing him home and away against zenit last season.

10.) 18 Jul 2018 17:11:36
Kev that's 2 games he then went missing mcginn will play more than kouassi imo.

11.) 18 Jul 2018 17:57:28
BR has stated a few times that Kouassi is the long term replacement for Brown. I can see him play a lot more this season.

12.) 18 Jul 2018 20:00:30
I agree McGinn is unlikely to be a starter in CL or in many league games unless we get injuries, at least initially. I’m sure we all accept that in this day and age players get tapped up so it seems pretty certain we will get him on a pre contract or for lesser fee in January. That being the case would £3m not be bteer spent on a RB? Let’s say we pay £3m and he plays 10 full games in his first 6 months, that’s £300k a game plus wages. VFM? Play the long game I’d say. HH.

17 Aug 2018 07:27:35
A hope we're going to sign a cb it's of the bobo mould big strong hates losing goals and can defend first and foremost, and denayers not him too small and not physical enough for me.

Mallythetally67

1.) 17 Aug 2018 10:23:26
I don’t think anybody will be kicking their height if we do sign Denyer. The fact is though thatvge us an improvement on what we have. But, what we have is a mile away from what we need. I have given up all hope of us investing properly. Too many crushing dissapoibtments to allow myself to again go down that futile road.

It’s a mess we have created. It always is when we are just about to disappear over the horizon. We stop and dither then go back, or allow our opponents to catch up. It’s been the script my whole life. There is a saying, to determine future behaviour, look at past behaviour. That should give us no comfort at all. We can pretend it will be better. Until we see the signs of that we are having a laugh.

All eyes are on how we react. Don’t get your hopes up. Its easier on your mental health. Well it is on mine at least.

2.) 17 Aug 2018 10:34:09
Don't want Denayer anywhere near us if the stories are true that we would be his last resort. On top of that I don't rate him very highly, need a more commanding presence in there .

3.) 17 Aug 2018 10:56:54
We would all love that, do we really believe it will happen though? Form a queue you get five magic beans as a free gift.

16 Aug 2018 13:07:31
The legend that is Bertie Auld sums up the boyata issue perfectly today in the rags. well said Bertie couldn't have put it better myself.

Mallythetally67

1.) 16 Aug 2018 15:50:35
What did he say.

16 Aug 2018 09:05:55
A know this has been mentioned before but when was the last time we scored from a set piece we had over a dozen corners in the first game against aek and a load on Tues but nothing really should be scoring more from these.

Mallythetally67

1.) 16 Aug 2018 09:14:37
Usually our set pieces are atrocious mally, but I thought wee Griffiths put in some great balls on Tuesday! Worrying when your striker is the only one who can deliver a set piece but.

2.) 16 Aug 2018 09:17:35
Does ma head in mate, the only player that can put a decent ball in fae a corner is Griffiths.

3.) 16 Aug 2018 09:46:33
Aindoh we are always going to have a young team. that's the transfer policy. Buy young and sell on. That's where its going wrong. When we buy older players they are over the hill. We need to change that or the young players don't learn.

4.) 16 Aug 2018 09:53:13
Corners are shocking. They should be sat down and showed how the lad at zenith was putting them in against us. Best delivery I've seen off someone in years. Every one fired in was a problem to deal with.

5.) 16 Aug 2018 10:22:33
This has been a bugbear of mine for far too long.
We have always earned plenty of corners and free kicks with our attacking play, but these past couple of years has seen a drastic fall in the quality and delivery and obviously goals as a result.
I can't believe for a minute that these are not practiced and planned in training and there must be a good few of these International players that can deliver decent balls?
On the other hand we seem to struggle with basic defending, tackling and picking up runners from midfield so maybe our focus is on fitness and not technique, tactics or teamwork?
While I'm nit-picking; we scored a very good goal when KT hit the by-line and crossed for Sinclair and need much more of this from our wide men instead of cutting inside and playing sideways - especially on the right - Forrest and Lustig take note.

6.) 16 Aug 2018 10:41:35
It doesn't help when we get a freekick and Ntcham takes it. Outstanding player but he should not be taking freekicks because the delivery is appauling, very rarely gets past the 1st man. As for corners Griffiths is the only player who puts the ball into the right area with pace yet we have no one attacking the ball like an Elliot Stubbs Myallby or Reiper. So if we can't do it when attacking we are not going to do it when defending. Johnny that's the point i made yesterday, projects as we call them are great especially when they come in and make an immediete impact but they also need support and guidance from more experienced players. I'm not buying this they cost £10m+ garbage. Players like Sinclair came in for half that so it can be done. We need the right blend. We have missed out on McGinn so i think we should target a loan deal for James McCarthy with a view to buy. Plenty on here don't rate him but for me he has a wealth of experience and his best days are ahead of him. Broonies long term replacement imo. Anyway hope there is some positive news ahead over the next 2 weeks as we need it. The truth of the matter is when the Board, Manager, Players and Fans are united we are untouchable. Bad decisions, bad results and constant bad press by our haters has worked in dividing us. Maybe its time to unite and get behind the entire club no matter what our views on the last 2 weeks are, we can't change it but we can fix it. If we are united.

7.) 16 Aug 2018 10:45:13
LH86,
LG putting in some great balls is fine but HE is one of our main strikers and should be in there to take advantage of them.
I was told on here before that LG was our best man with a dead ball.
I have to ask? what are the other players doing in training? They should be practising and improving on the basics. Trapping a moving ball/ pass. If right footed, improve the left foot.
Our set-pieces could and should be a lot better. Corners are a waste of time. Everyone clusters in the box and the kicker invariably punts it way over to the other side. Like, the opposition would never expect that.
And as for ball-watching, we all saw the first goal the other night so I don't need to harp on about that.

8.) 16 Aug 2018 10:54:12
Maybe they should let KT take the free kick. The guy has a sweet left foot and leave griff who is a serious header of a ball where he should be. And ya definitely some boys need a lesson how to deliver a set piece lik e nitcham. Super players but shocking at crosses and free kicks.

9.) 16 Aug 2018 11:01:16
Tim read the rest of my post mate lol. i said it’s worrying when only your striker can deliver a set piece. im in total agreement that it’s not good enough that only our striker can deliver a decent set piece! I honestly can’t remember the last time we scored from a corner by the way! Can anyone remember? To have over 10 corners in a game and not threaten with any is terrible! We all love good build up play and defence splitting passes for goals but set pieces are still a huge part of the game and can dig u out when the other side of your game isn’t on top form!

10.) 16 Aug 2018 11:11:44
Our players never seem to attack the ball with any conviction at set pieces. They all seem to be in there standing trying to get little flick headers from a standing start. Whatever happened to the old fashioned stand on the edge of the box and attack the ball like your life depended on it?

11.) 16 Aug 2018 11:19:35
Lh86

Big Jan 😂.

12.) 16 Aug 2018 11:41:14
Paddy Roberts is in my opinion the answer to this question and many more.

13.) 16 Aug 2018 11:57:45
Well said Tiny Tim and Paddy Roberts is another that didn’t want to be here.

14.) 16 Aug 2018 12:29:04
The Paddy Ship has sailed to Catalonia. Like McGinn we have to move on.

15.) 16 Aug 2018 12:45:58
Aye Stan your not bloody kidding! 😂😂.

15 Aug 2018 13:52:32
Apparently Brendan had made 17 sign ings since took over haven't included loans as they aren't ours although paddy was a great signing
Successes failures not sure

Moussa kouassi Morgan
Eddy de vries hendry
Ntcham COMPPER christie
Toure gamboa
Sinclair hayes
Bain.

Mallythetally67

1.) 15 Aug 2018 15:00:55
Only 4 have been a success. moussa, eddy, N'tcham, sinclair and maybe Bains. that's not really good enough.

2.) 15 Aug 2018 15:21:22
out of all his “failure signings “ only Kouassi and hendryl cost over a million . I would look at it that when you are going to buy basement buys the chances are they are not going to work out. Just maybe that’s why he said he only wanted quality for a few positions. He probably took a punt on Hendry as he is fast and it’s one of the things modern centre backs need now, although I never wanted him . So if look at it that maybe Kouassi is the only bad signing for decent money. When you are scraping around the bottom of the barrel, you are more than likely going to pick up crap.

3.) 15 Aug 2018 17:38:17
Maybe the board are looking at the money already paid out plus increase in wages and saying enough is enough. If that's the case BR may give it one more year, however we have not been at our best for months. From january till the end of the sesson in all competitions we won 14 out of 23 games. That was not great. On Tuesday only 2 BR signings started the game. Hendry and N'tcham. I know Dembele and Eddy were injured so 4 would have started but BR has bought 17 players since he joined so where are the other 13? We have spent £25mill on transfer fees alone and only 2 players out of that £25mill start. The rest were RD signings or players at club before he took over. These are not great stats. He has very much improved players who were there but 17 signed who by and large are not in contention for a starting slot!

4.) 15 Aug 2018 18:14:18
So what are you saying you don't think BR is the man to take us forward?
I for one think he is But saying that I would love to see who was on his wish list for the opening of this window I can't beleave he did not have some defenders on there And if so its the boards fault and if not then its BRs.

5.) 15 Aug 2018 21:00:58
Tonybhoy not saying BR should not take us forward. Facts are facts. Spent £25mill. Bought 17 players. Now if he had not bought Eddy its 16 players for £16mill, so paying peanuts you know what you get. Therein lies a potential problem. Not enough quality. The other fact, winning 14 out of 23 games. Do you think that's good or not? Now answer your own question.

6.) 15 Aug 2018 21:04:02
Every time you take a punt on a player, it costs the club money, . These all build up and players that are punted in , have to be judged quickly and those not making it moved on . Brendan said when he came he liked a small squad, but our ist team squad is too full of players we don't need or use.

7.) 15 Aug 2018 21:22:22
Larsson cost £650k, Moravcik cost 300k! Its about having the ability to spot a player👍.

15 Aug 2018 13:37:56
So if Pedro starts spending our dosh is that admittance that he's made an absolute mess if our summer transfer recruitment . so a wouldn't get to excited no sure there'll be much business.

Mallythetally67

1.) 15 Aug 2018 15:15:34
It's not just that; without the incentive of CL, we will not be able to attract much better than what we have already and there's a real danger of The Board selling our best asset (s) into the bargain.

2.) 15 Aug 2018 15:39:15
Said before, should maybe play the board at there own game next season and not buy season tickets till we know what we’re watching! You wouldn’t pay up front in many other aspects, like restaurants and cinemas, if you didn’t know what’s on offer. Know that sounds ridiculous but something needs to give them a shake .

3.) 15 Aug 2018 17:02:37
You're right chasaboy It does sound ridiculous and it is ridiculous. You would think our present team is the worst in our history the way some go on, not double treble winners, maybe even treble treble winners by the time chasas boycott comes around. Gee me strength, God knows how a lot of the support would of got on watching us in the 90's.

4.) 15 Aug 2018 20:17:04
I’ve been watching since the 70s and its like the movie Groundhog Day. Every time we get to a point where one or two quality additions would take us up a notch we instead light the cigars and start patting ourselves on the back. You can’t stand still in football but we just never seem to learn and just keep making the same bad decisions over and over again.

5.) 15 Aug 2018 21:16:59
Mally, is it a sign that he hasn't spent wisely or is it that the board have now released funds for him?
