There's still No transfer activity since my rant last week.
We need to somehow remove Dermot Desmond from our club.
For years Peter Lawwell was the fall guy for Dermot Desmond.
The Celtic fans have backed the club again this season with over 50,000 season tickets being sold.
Edouard and Ajer will be sold soon and that will leave only 3 players good enough to play for Celtic. Calmac, Forrest and Turnbull.
Watching Celtic now, is a similar standard to watching Celtic playing in the Reserve League West from 25 years ago ( Celtic 3rd team )
Dermot Desmond has ran our club into the ground.
I've wrote this season off before a competitive ball has been kicked.
I'm expecting a slow start to our league campaign and I think the league will be lost after our first 11 league games.
The Celtic fans will then turn our attention to Dermot Desmond and the Celtic board for not competing for the £30 million Champions League money which is on offer this season.
I think it's going to be a long season of unrest and protests and a flashback to the 90s.
I hope Big Ange is a Miracle Worker and proves me wrong.

Unfortunately buzz, after some initial positivity being brought into the club, it seems with every day that passes the fans become more confident of next season.
We know money has been brought in, both via sales since Christmas and season ticket money. And yet still no signings when even a new manager has called for them with most interviews he has taken. It would seem at the minute that McKay has coiled us in with a forked tongue and he would seem to fit nicely into the boardroom where we were hoping for more clarity and truth from them . The only sentence Brian quinn could be bothered to utter during anges presentation was that the club have been too slow to move lately and would need to look more outwardly going forward. As others have said, it seems that anything they said was a ruse to sell tickets and merchandise. I can’t honestly believe after last seasons show, that they aren’t even trying to placate the supporters, it would seem they are waiting to sell before they buy ( although as previously stated they have sold ) or are just doing the usual method of sticking their head in the sand and hoping we get through the qualifiers, then we go out then they purchase a few players . A blind man can see that this method of hoping for the best has not worked in the last 10 years, and still we prevail with it. Two first team ready players, who could hold their own in European stage, would have gave the fans hope but it seems that they really aren’t bothered . They are going to get pelters when we get back in I feel. And McKay will surely be included in that .

Your post Buzz is the sum of my worst fears for Celtic this season.

I'm not going to get into the 'we need X amount of signings by today, tomorrow or next week', that much is obvious, but even if we were efficient in the transfer market (which we're not) these deals are not always straightforward with everything that's involved.

If Ange has accepted this gig with two hands tied behind his back then he will be away before the Bells and if McKay intends to operate the club on a shoestring to appease DD and or his board, he's in for a very uncomfortable tenure.

Whatever the scenario, I'd already written off European football last November when it was clear NL had lost the dressing room, European football and the plot.

What the supporters won't stand for is the status quo, we have the means to sign good players who'll get us back to competing and winning games.

It's early days and as I mentioned in a post the other week, the calibre of player we bring in will soon tell us all if Ange is 'being backed' or is McKay full of wind and pish.

Last seasons humiliations and disasters should have been the launch pad for major changes, lessons learned and proactive reconstruction. However, the warning bells are sounding already and although overdue, This could be a job for 'CELTS FOR CHANGE 2'!

good posts guys, we have known for god knows how long what we have needed recruitment wise and more importantly so has the manager from his first interview he's stated what he needs and here we are as usual its a disgrace and these aren't rants they are supporters stating the our concerns which we should be doing that its simply not good enough, we can't just say I'm writing the CL off so that's ok then we won't worry about who's not being brought in or how difficult transfers are to be completed its the same for every club, deals should be done we are not here to worry about how difficult deals are to be done, we also shouldn't be writing anything off if we were on the ball and prepared there no reason for us not to be qualifying for the CL while also being realistic realising its difficult to do so but also giving ourselves the best best chance which we are far from doing. like buzz said the guy is doing his job tied behind his back.

@liamlennon - I think that was me that mentioned the 'two hands tied behind his back' 😆😅😂.

Buzz, how many times on the Podcast chat have we mentioned the boards lack of forward planning?

It beggars belief, if we had no cash and were just getting by, you'd accept it.

The facts are;-
* we've banked money from sales of players prior to this transfer window
* we've got between 30M-40M worth of players who want to leave
* we've got, at best, half a 1st team.

We are never prepared for the qualifiers and this year looks to be no different up until now even under the new regime. A few bodies in for the pre season would've been nice. Starting like up next week will likely be

Barkas
RB Welsh Ajer Taylor
Turnbull Soro McGregor
Forrest Ajeti Johnston

I'm sure Ange will get a better tune out of those players but the lack of a decent RB and the quality of the bench is a concern.

We've lost Frimpong, Elhamed, Kenny, Duffy, Laxalt, Brown, Moi from the first team squad. Jullien and possibly Eddy to injury and Griffs under investigation. The wantaways will likely be gone soon so that'll leave a bigger void. 4 or 5 in will leave us in much better shape for the next round if we navigate this round safely. Any truth in the fact we've asked to allow 20,000 fans in for the Midtjylland game?
