Watching clips of Samaras goals on Twitter. Why did we not love this guy. He had everything. Headers, dribbles, powerful running, drives. Wee bit inconsistent but a brilliant player when he had a good hair day. Thoughts.

Sammy was a cult hero so do know why you've said he wasn't love.
The reason he didn't become more than a cult hero is because he only turned up when he felt like it, which was nowhere near enough for a player of his obvious quality.

He was appreciated but his inconsistency frustrated the support because on his day he was 'unplayable' but you never knew when 'his day' was going to be?
However he did have several match winning performances with some great goals and loved the club and support.

I thought he was adored or wanted to be Edouard. Brilliant player and humble man.

He floats like a gazelle.

I loved big Samaras and was sad to see him go. Aye, he was frustrating as a lot of the time, but days like he had at Ibrox in 2011 for the 0-2 game will live long in the memory.

The guy who sits next to me was Sammy's biggest fan and is still often heard shouting bring Sammy in 😂😂😂.

I always loved the Big Man and he was one of my favourite players.
From his Great first goal against Killie, His 2 against Deidco, Making FergaHun flinch when he went to throw the ball at him to his winning goal away to Spartak. The Bhoy was class.
