Thats that official. Club just announced it. Time for us all to get behind the main man. Welcome back Brendan.

TheBhoyWander

1.) 19 Jun 2023 12:18:03
All the talk was of a "5 year CL Plan" and him getting 5 year contract

Contract only 3 years.

2.) 19 Jun 2023 13:45:23
Timalloy, Rumour origionally 3 yr deal, then it was increased up to 5 yrs . I don’t think there was any basis for 5 yrs except the SMSM attempting to give us a wee damper when actual deal of 3 yrs was announced . If both sides want longer they can draw up new agreement.

3.) 19 Jun 2023 14:51:23
Might it only be three so Jk be ready to step up and that why he decided to stay?

4.) 20 Jun 2023 06:16:47
Do you think the RAT will stay and finish his contract or will he be off before it ends.

Do you know anything about this meeting Lawwell had with the UEFA guys yesterday? I wonder what that was all about?

TheBhoyWander

1.) 16 Feb 2019 08:54:23
Probably a lot less sinister than you would like it to be.
We were beaten.
End of. HH.

2.) 16 Feb 2019 13:55:07
I'm not sure I get what you mean by "as sinister as I would hope". I haven't thought anything sinister about it. More hopeful that they may have been discussing some sort of new European competition, with us being involved, or something similar. Nothing sinister.

3.) 16 Feb 2019 18:33:43
Maybe about hosting a final.

4.) 16 Feb 2019 23:30:57
Ah yeah, that's a possibility I hadn't thought about. That'd be great for the club if it was that.

There's rumours going around my hometown here in Arbroath that Scott Brown is nailed on to be the next Arbroath manager. Rumour has it he was in town today for interview, and he's supposedly the man they want. Just passing on what I've been hearing around town today. If its true then it might be a good fit for him at the mo. Anyone else heard anything?

So, the game today is being described as "behind closed doors". Does that mean there will be no point trying to find it online or does anyone know where I might be able to watch it? Celtic TV aren't covering it anyway and i'm gagging to see the bhoys play. Hoping maybe for a Portuguese stream.

TheBhoyWander

1.) 12 Jul 2023 17:12:53
Apparently no coverage, announced by both teams.

2.) 12 Jul 2023 17:32:35
Ach well, was worth the ask. didn't realise the Portuguese had announced that too. Cheers Delbhoy.

3.) 12 Jul 2023 17:50:06
Seen a post saying its cancelled and another stating 6pm kick off due to security?

4.) 12 Jul 2023 17:51:11
According to Flashscore, the game was cancelled.

5.) 13 Jul 2023 11:42:27
There was supposed to have been fan trouble I don't know what fans it was but the ko was delayed an hour.

Hey Ed, I just want to give a shout out to my mate Paul and his brothers John and Sean who are walking from here in Montrose down to the Hearts game tomorrow to raise money for MND Scotland. They left on Tuesday and will arrive in time for the game. 131 miles in total. Some effort from the bhoys. Their father, Steven was diagnosed with MND last year. He is a life long Celtic fan and has been a season ticket holder for over 40 years. He is also one of the founders of Montrose CSC.

I think it's just fantastic that his sons have chosen to honour their father and raise funds for MND Scotland in such an epic way and I wish them all the best on the final leg of the journey. My best wishes also to Steven in his fight against this horrible disease. There is a just giving page set up for the walk too, so if anyone wishes and is able to chip in, then I'm sure the bhoys would greatly appreciate it. They've already raised a substantial amount so well done to all!

Brilliant from all the Montrose Bhoys.

Just read an article there about how subbutteo is making a come back and gaining popularity again since lock down. I haven't heard of it for years but as a teenager in the 90s, I absolutely loved the game, and even played in a league. A big part of the hobby for me was building the stadium. In my loft was a pretty decent replica of the original Celtic Park, that I was very proud of. I spent all my paper round money on that stadium and spent hours painting crowds members etc. Just wondered if anyone else on the site was a subbutteo nutter back in the days too? And did anyone else build a replica parkhead? Cool game, I might get another set.

TheBhoyWander

{Ed007's Note - I've got and old version up the stairs.}

1.) 27 Nov 2021 23:26:24
I got one of the first sets for Christmas in the 60's with the 'flat' players on the heavy bases and went on to collect a lobby press full of teams, pitches and accessories. Great game back in the day and I'm sorry I never kept any of the original gear as it must be valuable?

{Ed007's Note - I can remember in a comic. Roy of the Rovers?- that was like wee snobby private school kids playing in a league. Subbuteo was amazing till computer games were invented.}

2.) 28 Nov 2021 03:58:50
I was never really into subbueto wheni was a wean but when you seen your pals had celtic players you wanted it. The hoops were a standout from the rest. Just dreamt you'd wear them one day for real.

3.) 28 Nov 2021 00:41:15
Nice one Ed, get it dusted off. You're right, it was killed when ISS and FIFA came out on consoles. I became distracted myself and my paper round money started going to N64 and PS1 games. I'm going to get another set though. Maybe get my young lad into it and away from his consoles. @ONCEABHOY, I've never seen those but just looked them up. Before my time but very cool. It's easy to see why people got so into collecting the stuff. I had every team set from Italia 90, for example.

{Ed007's Note - You're just making me feel old now lol I'm talking about ZX Spectrum & Commodore 64 days with Match of The Day and Kick-Off then Sensible Soccer on the Amiga.}

4.) 28 Nov 2021 11:21:04
Sensible soccer is amazing ed. Loved that game.

{Ed007's Note - ?????

5.) 28 Nov 2021 12:05:58
Now your talking Ed, but swos was the balls.

6.) 28 Nov 2021 12:58:50
I cut my gaming teeth on those same machines Ed. My first football game addiction was Football Manager of the year 2 on spectrum. I stayed up many nights coring that game, then would go to school with an hours sleep. and do it again the next night. Always been terrible for manager games, so now I just don't play them at all. Too old for all nighters now.

{Ed007's Note - Football manager games cost me a few sleepless nights as well but I was a complete Elite - the space flying/trading game - nerd and had loads of A4 pads of notes etc.}

7.) 28 Nov 2021 14:15:14
Yup I was that same nerd, Ed. Pages and pages of notes, and many many hours spent trawling through them. The last manager game I played before my self imposed ban, was FM2016 and I have a Celtic game saved on it that was into season 2049. Anyone who has ever played one season on FM knows the hours involved, so to play 33 seasons on one save was just ridiculous. I really had to stop playing, but I miss it.

{Ed007's Note - They were the days, sitting there eating cereal out a casserole dish at half 3 in the morning ?

8.) 28 Nov 2021 17:34:57
More addictive than crack.

@Stiv65, no chance mate. We'd destroy Southampton everyday of the week. Taking part in a league full of over rated and over paid players doesn't automatically make you a good team. Outside of the top 5 or 6 clubs, the EPL tandard is very average imo, and propping up all that mediocrity is Southampton. We'd trounce them!

Is he the same Icelandic striker we were linked with a few times before? Either way, I've got a feeling it's just Dutch paper talk and his agents trying to drum up interest. Those peasants down the road have been name dropped in the same article, so that's normally a clue to me that it's agents up to their tricks.

Just got in and heard this. So sad to lose another true legend. Bertien as always been a favourite of mine. I've had the pleasure and honour to have met the man on a couple of occasions. A real people's man who always had time for his many fans. We'll always remember the time he took with my daughter to make her first day at paradise so special. She's not even that into celtic or football nowadays, but she'll gladly tell anyone she meets about her time with Bertie that day. So sad to get this news, but happy that he is now in the care of our Lord and also happy for everything he gave the world in his lifetime. RIP Bertie. A true Celtic Legend!

I run quite a few tanks. Over 30 on the go at the moment. I have a dedicated fish room at home and I breed many different types of tropical fish. Been at it for over 30 years since I was a wee lad. I'm a bit of a fish geek, to be honest, and of you need any help, advice or information then feel free to get my email from Ed and ping me a message. I'd be more than happy to help.

TheBhoyWander

{Ed007's Note - Have I got your email, TBW? Send me it again anyways at ed007@live.co.uk and I'll pass it onto Mikey ??
