Wullie Collum shouldā€™ve gave the blatant penalty to Hibs in the final minute similar to his 2 decisions last week.
It wouldā€™ve prevented him to go on and make another 2 howlers.
Three wrong decisions in 20 minutes.
Thatā€™s why we complain about Celtic getting double the games that Sevco get him because he is a dreadful referee.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

01 Nov 2020 09:31:15
Even more ridiculous; If and when we get VAR there will be another two 'dreadful referees' to back up these travesties.

Whatā€™s the reason for the assistant referee behind the goals on the same side as the linesman.
Would it not make sense to have the assistants on the other side of the goals and then thereā€™s an official on all corners of the pitch.

every team Celtic have in there Europa league group this season sit top of there league undefeated.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Oct 2020 15:00:51
Celtic still won our Europa league group last season against 2 clubs whoā€™ve qualified for this seasonā€™s Champions League.
Celtic definitely got the hardest clubs from Pots 3 and 4.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Oct 2020 16:04:57
We have been really unlucky - considering we were a pot 1 side - to draw another 'killer group' of CL quality opponents; while other British teams seem to carry all the luck with easier opposition.
It's good in a way because it makes us raise our game and can bring out the best in players and kick-start their form for this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Oct 2020 18:06:00
Celtic Mad, in all honesty I'd rather we just concentrated on the league but they have really looked up for it of late and seem to be playing as a team again thankfully.
How that other mob keep getting the luck of the draw is beyond belief. That's the last 2 European games they've played where the opposition hasn't had a single shot on target (Im starting to sound like Buzz) the full game and that not just down to good defending thought the press would have you believe so.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Oct 2020 13:50:51
Although Duffy has had a rough start, I think he will come good. Not sure Barkas will though. Keepers don't really need the same settling in period, they either save shots or they don't! So far I can't recall any game where he has done anything significant and there are plenty games where it has been the opposite. We missed a trick with Marshall, no fee and would have done a job.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - 35-year old David Marshall that has conceded 11 goals in 7 games this season, when was the last time you watched him? He's nowhere near good enough to be a Celtic player now and Bain is better than.
I think all players moving to a new club in a new country need time to settle in, even more so for a GK who has to get used to playing with new players in front of him while a critical spotlight is on him because of the position he plays. Stevie Woods scouted Barkas for over a year and Nick Hammond also watched him and both agreed that he was more than capable of being Celtic's No.1, I have every faith that Woods will get the best out of Barkas.}

31 Oct 2020 14:29:35
I'm thinking the same as you ed, on woods, do you know how rated he is in the game? Every keeper we get he seems to improve them massively! And I think keeping him at Celtic is as important as some of our big players.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm really surprised that Woods hasn't been enticed away by a big money offer from the Pub League. I've never heard a bad word about him and it's not just GKs that sing his praises, he's well liked as a man as well as a coach. He's definitely one of the best GK coaches in the UK.}

31 Oct 2020 14:55:06
Good to hear, hopefully he's happy with us and doesn't want to go anywhere else.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - šŸ‘

31 Oct 2020 15:51:13
Watched Marshall last season, plenty shut outs. Seen him today also, made a few cracking saves. Fact is he was free and would do a job, maybe as a No2, but imo he is better than Bain and possibly Barkas.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 15 clean sheets out of 40 games while conceding 50 goals last season in the English second division is hardly inspiring stats from Marshall. Barkas kept 16 clean sheets in 33 games last season while conceding 26 goals.

31 Oct 2020 12:05:44
I rightly got worried a couple weeks ago when the super computer predicted Celtic would win 10 In A Row by 8 points because the super computer also predicted Sevco would win the league last season.
I feel better now that the super computer has changed itā€™s mind.
Itā€™s now predicting Sevco will win the league by 3 points.
An 11 point swing in only 14 days. šŸ˜‚.

Goal line technology will be used in Scotland for the first time in the Semi finals.
There will also be officials behind the goals to assist the referee.
That is more reason for Celtic to be more disciplined in our challenges especially inside the box.
Aberdeen have received a penalty in the previous 3 rounds of the Scottish Cup.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

31 Oct 2020 12:34:26

31 Oct 2020 13:48:47
We are conceding many more penalties than any other team this season, so caution has to be drummed into them; especially as it was midfield players that conceded both last at Pittodrie.
Referees are apparently looking for them at every opportunity.

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 31st October 2020

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Oct 2020 00:48:44
Guys i've purposely waited till a good performance before commenting over the last few weeks.
I want to make 3 points.
First is our formation, i want to go 433.
I think this will suit our style and players.
Also playing this way we can let teams come onto us a bit more and defend from 40 -50 yards out be more compact and if we steal the ball there we have open grass to run into which will suit the pace we have.
Imagine we have eddy griff and forest for eg waiting to pounce or
eddy moi and ryan.
Depending on oppononents ryan and moi for eg can slip into more midfield positions to defend, i feel it makes us more fluid.
Same with midfield, calmac ryan rogic is very attacking but calmac soro brown against tougher teams so much more fluid again.
Point 2. Shane duffy. Never agreed with this signing simply because he is a backs to wall defender. Wants to defend his own box, where we defend very high up the pitch and Duffy does not want that. He has played for teams all his career who are more defensive. 433 may help that right enough.
Then again playing tough opponents like Lille he made 3 glaring schoolboy mistakes in first 30 mins or so.
Number 1 in first 10 mins he goes chasing a header in rb position taking himself out the game when he missed it.
Resulting corner gave Lille a huge opprtunity to score as they
had 3 or 4 strikes on goal and we got lucky to survive.
2 he dived in to his first tackle 25 yrds out and gave away a dangerous free kick.
3. The penalty. Yea ok. it wasnt but still a stupid foul to give away when no danger.
In Europe against tough teams u make 3 mistakes like that usually you lose goals. Amazingly some said he had a good game. Simply not good enough. Imo he only playing cis nobody else available.
3. Scott Brown. Now here is my thoughts. 2-0 up and your thinking well SB is in the team its perfect for him as we will drop off and he can organise cajole and harry the life out of them.
Nope didn't happen, too many times they got thro us and we didn't press them 30 -40 yrds out. We let them get 25 out before we engaged.
On a few occasions they crossed we headed it out and it came to a Lille player. I only saw calmac race out to engage. Brown was either walking out or jogging. That tells me his legs are gone, he looked done when he got subbed. Again these type of mistakes get punished at this level.
Now all of this may sound harsh but its what i saw and we can't keep ignoring these obvious mistakes.
Only by removing the mistakes/ players do we get better. The performance was def better but just think how much better it could have been.
Surely Lennon must be seeing this, its time to get younger fitter players in the team.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

31 Oct 2020 07:45:34
We don't play a 433 it's a 4231 formation. Duffy is a coo and his loan should be terminated with immediate effect. I was saying this at work the other day that we never press teams. I think with Lennon's training methods the team wouldn't be fit enough to play a high press!

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Oct 2020 09:30:16
Aye malky cracking idea terminate his contract with two of our centre halfā€™s our injured . Hopefully he comes on to a game I still feel he can do a job so you not?

31 Oct 2020 10:14:34
Heā€™ll settle down soon, his defending has been erratic at times but I think heā€™s trying too hard to make his move permanent that heā€™s making rash decisions. Iā€™ve been too critical of him and Lennon but Iā€™m putting that down to my own nerves this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Oct 2020 10:52:43
I feel for the guy as he was so keen to join us and actually started out very well - with a couple of goals - but his defending and decision-making are well short of an International player at present.
We are very thin on the ground for CH's so he needs to settle down and just get the basics right and show his character.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Oct 2020 11:05:24
Celtic mad there is a good player he just needs to keep it simple no rashness.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Oct 2020 11:41:57
I agree with Brown, heā€™s a player down in midfield (still better than Ntcham) when we are playing majority of sides that we will have majority of ball against so Iā€™d go Christie and Mcgregor with Rogic in the CAM against most teams and play Brown in games where we are on the back foot just sitting in front of back 4 in a 4-1-4-1 formation.

Itā€™s positive news that Ajer is in the squad for the game tomorrow.
I feared he would be out for a month or two.
I would play Bitton and rest Ajer.

Rogic should be gone. No where near good enough to hold down the no. 10 role. Poor assist and goal record never mind his injury record. Agree with the posts around fitness though. Standards have definitely dropped since NL came back.
