Celtic are having to stay in Bosnia an extra night due to UEFA changing the venue on Thursday.
The new venue is where the Bosnian national team play their home games and it is further away from the airport.
Sarajevo’s home ground failed on ground safety and that’s the reason for the switch of venue.
It is also the home ground to a club which was relegated last season and the last twice Sarajevo played there in the league finished goalless.
Sarajevo actually won the Bosnian league last season having only played 22 league games before it was stopped early due to C. V and they finished on top only 3 points ahead.

Andy Holiday off to the diets, he goes with our best wishes and thanks for his contribution to 9iar, will always be a cult hero at Celtic park and would be welcome back at any time so that 60k can chant his name again, another silver lining is that should keep him off the radio.

Looks likely that the pub league will vote on a motion to crown the champs after completion of 2/ 3rds of season in case we go back into lockdown and they suspend football again.

Been over in laffland and yet again they never fail, one has us making illegal subs. Yes i know lol.
Another has us in financial trouble -yep with over 30m in the bank for us last season to them needing 7m to get to end of last season. To us being in trouble more than them.
With financial astuteness like that how did they go bust lol.
Not 1 of them understand they have a bigger wage bill than us.
Another says our defense is terrible after watching the Hibs game, yep a clean sheet while they conceded 2 lol.
Yet another wants the other teams to go bust cos they deserve it as they never "backed the ranjurs", yep they now want no other teams to play.
Goodness me i used to blame the schools but this is another level.

Premier Sports are now not showing our game against Sarajevo live on Thursday night.
That will be the 3rd away game this month that hasn’t been shown live after Sly failed to show 2 league games.

Someone on the left to challenge (not replace) Taylor and a return to form by Griff would make me happy. HH.

I think we have kinda prepared for the potential exits of Ntcham and Ajer with the signings of Turnbull in midfield and Duffy to join Bitton and Jullien, with possibly Welsh as centre back choices
Signing Ajeti may have been a fail-safe if we get a bid for Eddy; leaving us with Ajeti, MOI, Griff and Klimala (plus Johnston)
and by all accounts we are trying very hard to get a left sided player in the door this week?
However, who knows what last minute bids might come in for others as I read Burnley are looking at Christie, so we might be in for a busy week and I wouldn't rule out loan deals if we have to?

Celtic need to get someone in the door to challenge Taylor and then we should have cover for every position for the next 3 months before all the speculation starts all over again.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Sep 2020 19:21:40
I watched Turnball in a couple of the motherwell games and he was a standout, if we had to lose Christie I wouldn't be gutted to the same extent as I was with Tierney and the skelper.

I really hope we pick up Niclas Elliason. His stats aren't massively impressive, but he is a very direct player and I think he needs to find the right team for himself and would come relatively cheap. Gary Penrice is meant to have been and watched him over the weekend.

Our Scottish cup Semi Final against Aberdeen will be Sunday November 1st with a 2.30pm kickoff time.
The Edinburgh Derby will be the day before at 5pm.

I thought the SFA could’ve waited to see if Celtic qualified for the Europa league first before announcing the Semi Final dates.
Because if we don’t qualify Celtic can play on the Saturday.
Usually a Derby game would have an early kickoff time especially with the bad blood between the Edinburgh clubs over Hearts relegation.
A Saturday night game could lead to street fights.

I’ve just noticed Kevin Clancy hasn’t been given a game to referee since the Morelos incident.
The outcome from all the noise was he called the decision correct.
There is another round of Premiership matches before the winter break which will make it 19 Premiership games he has been bypassed to suit the mob from the Southside.
The last time they created as much noise was with Wullie Collum in Slippy’s first season and Collum never got to referee another Sevco game for 6 months ( 26 league games he missed ) .
Which also meant Celtic were getting him every other week and we all know how unpredictable Wullie can be.
All of that to keep Sevco Scotland quiet.

Brother Bob at it again Motherwell very unlucky to concede 2 pens and dear Bob denies well a stonewaller . He's now set the precedent for handballs we watch with interest.

Not defending Madden but the law concerning hand balls did change and it does not matter if its deliberate.

The new rule states that it is not a penalty if the ball touches a player's hand/ arm close to their body and has not made their silhouette unnaturally bigger.

The first penalty you could argue either way as his arm was slightly away from his body. However, the second one was not a penalty in my opinion as his hand and arm were close to his body and not making his silhouette unnaturally bigger but in fact making it smaller. The only doubt was his hand was at chest height and the ref may have considered it above the shoulder, which would make it a penalty.

They tamper and tinker with the rules nearly every season and then referees become even more inconsistent because of 'interpretations' of these incidents and just to frustrate and hamper even more - VAR! It's bad enough arsing about with offside in millimetres, but it was always 'HANDBALL' meaning a player moving his hand deliberately to stop or alter the direction of the ball; not having to defend, arms handcuffed behind your back or a ball ricocheting from point blank?
Anyway it's all immaterial when referees are prone to honest mistakes.

28 Sep 2020 08:46:31
How can different competitions have different rules baffles me. Surely fifa set the rules and these as standard for all professional games. With the exception of var.

28 Sep 2020 08:52:53
Agree it's the law but how do you defend or jump without moving your arms. they 2 yesterday were whacked at pace with a sevco player touch tight how do you get out the road. the ref has got to use common sense. but al watch with interest the next time he's reffing especially against the klan.

Brother Bobby has been referee in 6 games since the return from lockdown and yesterday was the first and second penalties he has awarded this season.
He has only gave out one red card and that also went in Sevco’s favour when he sent off an Aberdeen player on the opening day of the season.

28 Sep 2020 11:38:09
Nick Walsh will be our referee on Sunday away to St. Johnstone.
I thought he would’ve got his first Glasgow derby on October 17th.
But I can’t see him being awarded 2 consecutive league games involving Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Sep 2020 12:42:34
On the aberdeen game it was a ridiculous challenge by considine and a clear red. Yesterday we would have been screaming for a penalty on both decisions although the second one was quite like the one against Livi last weekend that we didn't get. The rules don't help but certainly the first one you can't really argue with and the game was done by the second. If we turn up we win regardless of ref decisions.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Sep 2020 12:50:14
The first one we are arguing with, that is the whole point.
Fifer you never mentioned if Motherwell should have got a penalty for the push.
If your answer is yes then you agree that Madden got 2 out of 3 decisions wrong in Sevco’s favour?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Sep 2020 13:35:35
First rangers one was prob correct I did think the well one was a pen and was shouting f sake madden on second one. Imo the refs in Scotland are just not good enough rather than it being a full on conspiracy. Have seen us getting some dubious decisions but also plenty that have gone against us. I guess the fact that Madden is probably one of the better refs doesn't help things.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Sep 2020 13:44:25
I agree Fifer.
I do think Madden is the best of a bad bunch and I think Nick Walsh will make a good ref.
I’m beginning to think Wullie Collum will get the Glasgow Derby which will turn the game into a lottery.

As it stands Celtic only have ONE domestic home game which is against Sevco until December 5th ( will be moved to the 6th if we qualify for the Europa league groups) .
Celtic could actually fit in 5 Europa group ties, a Scottish cup Semi Final and a league cup tie before we actually play another league game at Celtic Park.
We also have Sarajevo away, St. Johnstone away, Aberdeen away, Motherwell away and Hibs away before we play St. Johnstone at home on December 5/ 6th.

enough of the coinpsiracy, the other lot had a spell of away games last month.
Tough fixtures ahead made up by the fact our december is easy.

Worrying tho as if we struggle in some of the tough away games and were to lose the OF we could be a fair bit behind them before the xmas period.

Rangers go to aberdeen motherwell and hibs in january as well as hosting us. We will, hopefully, both play 19 home and 19 away games this season. don't really care when. The league will not be called unless there is a huge points advantage like last season.
