442 will win us 10 in a row. Patiently waited on this formation with a fully fit squad Feck the naysayers.

I was sad to read about Jim McLean.

'Everyone at Celtic Football Club is very saddened to hear of the death of former
@dundeeunitedfc manager Jim McLean.

The thoughts and prayers of everyone at #CelticFC are with Jim's family and friends at this sad time'.

I don't watch and I'm not remotely interested in the EPL. I don't have a second team. No other club has the ability to make me laugh, cry, sad or depressed over the years. Not even watching great Barcelona teams and the like gets me off my chair and biting my nails and just generally behaving irrationally like some bang average Celtic teams have.

But I've always had a wee soft spot for Dundee Utd. A wee soft spot not very big. Probably due to the teams they would bring to Glasgow under Jim McLean in the 70s and 80s. I used to genuinely look forward to playing Dundee Utd and watching them in Europe. They had some great players and were good to watch. McAlpine, Malpas, Narey, Hegarty, McKinally et al. A goalkeeper that could take penalties always impressed me.

Sincere condolences to Jim's family. RIP

PS: it made me think and also remember Millar and McLeish at Aberdeen, McNeil at Celtic to name but a few. What happened to Scotland's ability to produce centre halfs?

I remember after Dundee Utd beat us 3-0 in a midweek game; Jim McLean was full of praise for the Celtic support who outsung 'The Arab' fans all night even in defeat. I had a lot of respect for him after that.

I especially liked it when he apparently jabbed the bbc journalist after giving him verbal pelters for asking question he was told not to ask before the post match interview 😂.

Jim Mclean is in the top three of best ever Scottish football managers, what he achieved with that Dundee United side, was phenomenal.

And McLean's team were cheated in the 1984 European cup semi final when it emerged in 2018 that Roma had bribed the referee to let them win and go through.
We could have had 2 Scottish managers lifting that trophy (and I believe they were good enough.

@JFP. A bit earlier for Aberdeen, Martin Buchan was a great centre half.

Best we've played for ages the rhythm and tempo was back against 11 men behind the ball. should have been 7.

It was nice to see the whole team making runs and people moving into space instead of hiding from the ball.
