I don't think the football will be starting any time this year.
In 1918 the population of the world was estimated at 1.7 billion, the Spanish flu took two years and 50 to 100 million lives before it was gone.

The population of the world is now upwards of 8 billion, even if we get a vaccine this year, which would be amazing, but as long as the virus exists in the world population it could mutate, and then a new vaccine would be required, unless you can vaccinate the whole 8 billion, this horror will continue.

Scientists are confident it doesn't mutate and they're close to a vaccine so fingers crossed mate we get out in front of this pandemic soon god bless and keep safe.

Around 500 folk have sadly passed in Scotland so far. Have you actually seen the figures for folk that have passed due to cancer strokes etc in the same time frame?

Pud is correct, around 3500 people die in the Glasgow area every 3 weeks from all illnesses, around 50 of them were Covid related in the 3 week period 16 March - 7th April. Only about 1.5%.

Personally speaking I believe the tensions and feelings between Celtic and TRIFC 2012 are irreparable, with respect and even tolerance at an all time low.
This has been building since the liquidation that was deemed as a relegation, followed by mistrust, untruths, finger pointing and conspiracy theories a-plenty.
Even within my own family there is none of the kidology, 'banter' and bragging rights that were there years ago and the subject is rarely discussed to avoid heated arguments, claims, counter-claims and lasting bad feeling.
The hatred is there for all to see on the inferior chat sites and blogs and I see no improvement - unless, maybe we pursue a better quality league, as even if they go bust again, the residue remains.

Can't see this going on much longer, although it would be good to be the best in Scotland for a long, long time. Next year is going to be a massive year for both the Old Firm. Celtic want to hold the record for being the firts team to win 10 league titles on the trot, and Rangers want, or have, to prevent them for doing so.

Even if someone comes in with a massive investment into Rangers to buy them the league next season, chances are it's too late for that to happen as players need to bed in and that doesn't happen overnight. It's going to be one God almighty season coming up and it'll be interesting to see what challenges are put in our way to stop us from doing so.

They are saying they have cast iron evidence that we attempted to bribe Dundee and at least one other club. This is our chance to really end them.

I'm sick of all these knuckle draggers trying to make our club out to be the bad guys as usual. A global pandemic brings football to a grinding halt just as we're waltzing to 9IAR and all of a sudden we're in the wrong? I know the club are usually very professional and avoid the media tit-for-tat but I wish they'd just come out and rinse all these clowns once and for all. Fed up with us being painted as big bad cheating Celtic when almost 75% of clubs in the country voted for the proposal - meaning we're on the same side as most of the struggling clubs.

Time for lawwell to actually speak up for the club which pays him the biggest salary in uk chief executive football then. Or even better for dermot to come out of self isolation which he seems to be in 12 months of year and do something for Celtic.

It looks like we will sit back and watch clubs scream and shout and point fingers at one another then blame others when they crash and burn.

Well done our club.
"Celtic Football Club are delivering hot meals daily to the staff at Glasgow Royal Infirmary"
"Celtic supporters clubs have banded together to provide basic food and necessities to Glasgow Food Banks"
Hail hail.

Another website has came up with a brilliant and fair solution regarding the end of the season and the Scottish clubs.
Teams at the top will be declared champions.
Playoffs will be scrapped but replaced with a one off game on neutral ground with the bottom club playing the team sitting second in the division below. The winner would either escape relegation or gain promotion.
Hearts v Inverness CT. Partick Th v Falkirk
Stranraer v Edinburgh City and Brechin could play the winners of the non league clubs.
Every club in the country would be happy with this Solution because their destiny would be in their own hands.
Well every club except one. I wonder which club that would be. 😂.

Hardly a brilliant idea. Would rather the season was finished don't understand the rush to finish this season.

@ buzz are you saying we should restructure league to accommodate hearts? Because if Dundee Utd get promoted and either hearts/ ict then we have 13 teams in top flight. Not really thought thru. @dc I don’t think there is a rush to finish season, in top flight we are going to wait till UEFA make a decision or till nearer June but a fall back decision is being laid out now. It’s as clear as day Rangers don’t want us be seen as giving Celtic title and that is the same with Dundee not wanting to see united be champions but look further and most clubs in lower leagues need their small payouts to survive which prob isn’t to pay players who are prob furloughed but to pay other bills or loans.

Sorry Jim you are correct I didn’t think it through properly.

Its clear the sevco losers want the money for them but people think they are looking out for other clubs:) ) ) ) ) deluded to the core they are **** end of.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Apr 2020 18:34:35
Sevco and one or two other teams want to wait and see (and for Sevco, it's purely to delay 9iar) . And for that to happen, they expect Celtic to fund the life support for those that need it until football can start up again. Moonbeams.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Apr 2020 13:13:15
Would that not result in a 13 team league? Dundee United get automatic promotion, then the winners of the play-off also get a place in the top division?

After hearing a radio report, that our greatest ever player, Kenny Dalglish, has been tested positive for covid-19, I wish him a speedy recovery, but am a bit puzzled on the report, it said he went into hospital for an unrelated procedure, and was routinely tested for the Coronavirus, I have two cousins that work as nurses, who were supposed to get tested last week, but they weren't as there wasn't enough tests, even though they are on the front line, I haven't been in touch with them since, and hope the testing is now 'routine',

aindoh's entitled to his opinion and there certainly aren't many better players than Dalglish to wear a Celtic jersey - even if his prime years were spent elsewhere.

Kevbhoy aindoh never stated that it was his opinion Dalglish was our greatest ever player, and of course he is entitled to his opinion but word it that way to prevent feedback such as mine. He was a superb player for Celtic, but I will never forget the day he was paraded at ibrox after accepting a position with that club saying it was an honour to be here, I realise he was a fan of them growing up but when you are idolised by Celtic fans myself included that’s a slap in the face. I do wish him well as I do others affected by this plague.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Apr 2020 20:42:36
It's purely subjective, so obviously it's his opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Apr 2020 23:26:04
To clarify, I think he was our greatest ever player, in terms of natural ability that I personally seen playing, and I saw Jinky as well, I first seen him playing when he was 17,in a reserve game, and I was like wow, that guy is nearly as good as me, ok, he might not have been the club's best servant, but in terms of ability, in my opinion he was the best.
