I don't think there will be many on here or through the fanbase in general that has not been pulling their hair out in frustration at what has clearly been a very frustrating window thus far. So far we have spent
2-3m on 7 players. That does not sit well with me at all!

Doohan is neither good or bad, will likely never play for us and is nothing more than an emergency goalkeeper.
JSP, i still havn't got over this signing and im certain i'll be questioning this at the end of the season too. Good luck to the lad but it smacks of desperation.
Tierney will be a great signing if (and its a BIG IF) he can stay fit and play 90% of matches
Inamura although looked good in preseason can't be seen as anthing other than a project at this stage.
Nygren comes with glowing reports and looks like a good player but is he an upgrade on Kuhn? Im not convinced but hope im wrong.
Osmond i know nothing about him but i wouldn't be surprised to see him out on loan and or disappear down the line.
Yamada, my thoughts exactly the same as Inamura, we can't expect anything other than a project at this stage.

So summing it up so far we have an improvement at LB with Tierney over Taylor, albiet a gamble with his injury record but i think we are worse off on the wing.

A few people have already guessed at a stand off between Desmond and Rodgers over differences in budget/ ambition going forward.
Rodgers won't sign an extension unless his ambition is met and Desmond won't agree to his demands as its too ambitious/ risky with Rodgers asking for too much to be spent. Hence why Desmond reluctant to spend anything.
I honestly can't see any other reason for the lack of activity than this reason. I really can't.

But what i do know is that the club need to be very very careful because whether we want to admit it or not that other mob have spent money and looks like they have spent well, so those at the very top of our club will have serious questions to answer if we allow that mob to win the title and walk straight into next seasons CL. That would be unforgivable and could spell and end to our dominance.
Any Celtic fan that thinks they won't be improved this season will be in denial. Desmond and his minions are playing with fire IMO.

Why are you comparing Nygren to Kuhn?
Nygren has been playing in the midfield.
We should be actively looking to replace Kuhn with another our and out winger.

It's the CL gamble I can't fathom out, this from a board rgat loves cash very strange and the silence from the club is deafening.

So what you're saying is the Rangers are coming.

We go through this scenario more or less every transfer window. Up until now the board have got away with it with the exception of 1 very important season.

My thoughts are the board look at Rodgers 3 big money signings last season and think. Did we get value for money. I think everyone would answer no.

The you look at signings like Kuhn for a fraction of the cost and that was great value. Why would the board sanction another big money spend when they look at the 3 from last season.

We're crying out for 2/ 3 wingers but none look on the horizon.

Hiw much work us even going on in the background regarding signings.

Like DerryTim says weather you want to admit it or not Rangers look to have signed some good players, particularly in the forward areas. Granted RM tactics and set up look a bit suspect but you can only imagine with more game time they will get better.

Whilst we dither on signings, go with players like Yang who are not Celtic starters. Let's see where we're at come the end of the transfer window.

But as it stands in my opinion there's a very real possibility that the league could go to the very end. I just hope and pray we come out on top.

Domestically, for over a decade, staying ahead of Sevco has been relatively comfortable, even allowing for that calamitous lockdown league debacle.
Unfortunately complacency has been our weakness in the past and will definitely cause problems now if we take our eye off the ball.
This is a huge season - not just for Celtic but - for both clubs and our manager only wants to kick-on in Europe after a very decent run, while trying to maintain domestic dominance.
Why DD would want to scupper this infuriates and confuses me.
Clearly we are weaker than last season and it was also worrying that we ran out of steam in the run up to the SC final.
If the Board are all so called 'Celtic minded' why - with all the funds that are available - are we struggling to comprehend this?

Ken, Nygrens primary position is a right winger. that's where he played for previous clubs. He might not been seen by rodgers as his direct replacement but he is so far he is the closest to replacing kuhn.
And yes Bhoy88 i can't help but feel they are coming, maybe not this season but they will get closer.
