With more luck and composure we should have scored three or four and St Mirren defended very well.
James Forrest made a significant difference when he came on for (and made much more impact than) Yang. That luck I mentioned eventually turned in our favour with L McC's deflected shot. However, all in all we controlled the game and deserved to win more comfortably.
Maeda usually starts pre-season buzzing but is yet to get going and personally, I think Idah makes more impact from the bench but the way things stand - needs must.
There is no doubt whatsoever we are weaker than before and need at least three quality signings - LB. Striker and Winger to improve.
Something I did notice was that of our major signings last season, Engels, Trusty and Bernardo never started the match but along with McCowan. two of them helped to get the result.

First signing priority should be a winger who can play both sides, then a proven centre forward. I'm less worried about LB as Tierney, Inamura or even Scales can play there, even Ralston has covered that berth previously.
Our problem is not defending or creating chances, it's scoring goals. Even the humping by Ajax, I think we had more chances but poor finishing and good goalkeeping cost us dearly.
Not in the least worried about Sevco this season as they will drop points all over the place. So long as we add some quality finishers and keep up the intensity, we'll tuck away the league without much fuss, despite our corrupt officials best attempts!

How are we weaker than the start of the window .
Since the start of the window we have lost Kuhn, who had stopped showing an interest in playing for Celtic in January. We lost Taylor and Schlupp .
We have signed Shin, Nygren, Inamura, K Tierney& Osmand and Pusey on loan .
I can’t understand how anyone can count Bain, Kwon, Nawrocki and Montgomery etc as BR and indeed most fans wanted them away from our ist team training group .
We also had considered MO’R and Kyogo against replacements in previous windows and surely if we want to include again, this would make a complete nonsense of comparing rather we are better or worse.
The whole ethics of our transfer policy has been for years picking and buying young players who our manager coaches and develops to make them better players over the next 3 years . We have major problems if that doesn’t work.
