I would like to highlight that we still need to qualify for the champions league this year.
The years in which we needed to qualify have always been "slower" windows to begin with.
The club like to stockpile cash in these scenarios in the event that we don't quality in order to keep the books sweet. The board will see the squad as good enough to compete in the Europa League at present.
If we do qualify we can attract a higher level of player and funds will be released.
The problem is the final qualifier is played 26/ 27th of august which is too late to actually get some players in.
This is a classic scenario that we have all seen plenty of times. It's how we operate. It's slow, it's boring, it's business.

We already have European football guaranteed, have all the season ticket money in and just sold Kuhn. We also have money left from last season in the bank, so I don't think money is the issue.

Celtic will also get decent money from the Frimpong transfer.

I think our manager have mentioned our need to qualify for CL’s on a number of occasions and I am sure the Board are well aware, as are the teams who currently hold the registration of the players Celtic and other clubs who have to qualify are enquiring about .
Celtic and the other clubs who have to qualify are attempting to buy a certain quality of player . Selling clubs are fully aware that there should be a bidding war for this standard of footballer and will hold out as long as they think maximises the players sought .
It’s not like the standard of player Rangers. Nearly every season they have 6 - 8 signed by now and they finish with 10 - 12 new players, most given free transfers or loans out after 2-3 yrs .

Like I said this isn’t my opinion. It’s fact. It happens every time we need to qualify for the UCL.

One thing that makes Celtic unique in World Football is that Celtic like to be consistent with the qualities of its teams .
Different fans have different opinions as to whether one team is better or worse than a team a few years previously. Our Board especially in recent years tries to sign players that B R. Specifically sought . However that isn’t always possible and that doesn’t mean that the Board have let BR down . Price paid for player doesn’t reflect players ability or worth to buying team B Nygren was a very low price and if we have yet to sign a more useful player this window I will be very pleased.
Fans should be well pleased with the consistent high standards of our team this century. This is something previous fans didn’t have.
