What was your first match away from Celtic Park?
And what was your first European trip if any?
Mines was Hibs 0 Celtic 3 1983
And Cologne in 1992.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2022 17:54:54
Mine was Dundee 5 Celtic 1 1980 I think? and Lyon 1999 the night Henrik broke his leg? It did get better after that?.

26 Jun 2022 18:27:42
OMG Stevie. ?.

26 Jun 2022 18:50:48
Dundalk V Celtic 1979 European game. I was only 12 and could only see the goal to my right as I was too small and the guys in front of me blocked my view on the terrace in oriel park.

26 Jun 2022 19:36:51
Them in 1969 and Leeds 1970, pretty sure the were both lift overs as I was only young. We were just brilliant back then. George Connelly was my favourite player.

26 Jun 2022 19:57:28
gedceltic,
My dad missed your favourite player Connelly score after about 45 seconds at Elland Road.
Celtic had double the shots at goal away to Leeds and Celtic also won the corner count 12-1.
Not bad for a team playing away from home in a European Cup Semi-Final.

26 Jun 2022 20:21:17
* I meant due to the crowds at the turnstiles.

26 Jun 2022 20:38:40
My first game was V Hibs in 1980.
First away game was away to Hibs in 1983.
My son was born the same day Celtic beat Hibs in 2001
My son’s first match was Celtic 3 Hibs 2 in 2005.
But his first away game was at Killie. ( not Hibs ? )
I’m hoping to take him and possibly my daughter to a CL away match next season and I hope we get a German team. ( they have 5 in the CL )

26 Jun 2022 20:39:58
We did buzz but the crowd let us know. Half our bus never had tickets anyway.

26 Jun 2022 20:53:19
You’re a hibee buzz or are you Leigh Griffiths. Do you tie scarfs around goalposts for fun.

26 Jun 2022 20:55:42
Hi Buzz hope you and the family are well, I sailed with a Leeds supporter and when he knew I supported Celtic he began to talk about the game at Elland Road saying they thought Leeds were the best around at that time but Celtic made us look like a 4th division side. The Leeds fans were mesmerised by what they saw that night and they had never witnessed football like it, what a compliment. Say hello to your mum and dad.

26 Jun 2022 21:22:13
We’re all keeping well Oldkilly, I hope it’s the same at your side. ?
My Mum and Dad were down for my daughters prom night last week.
Celtic FC don’t get the credit for the team we had in the late 60s and early 70s.
The clowns that mentioned that Sevco Scotland achieved better last season are clueless. ?
We will need to arrange a night in the CC for the Coatbridge Bhoys and anyone else.

{Ed007's Note - I'll head over for a soda water & lime no probs Buzz ?

26 Jun 2022 21:35:30
That’s great Ed.007 because I feel bad at missing the catch up on the 16th.
I could get my son to pick you and Robroy up and drop you both off, no problem.
There’s a few guys on the site like Steff Etc from Coatbridge.
Anytime suits me over the next couple of weeks.
What suits you Steff and Rob?

{Ed007's Note - ??? We'll try and sort something out.}

26 Jun 2022 21:36:02
Sorry and Oldkilly?.

26 Jun 2022 22:06:03
You’re forgiven Buzz it would be would be nice to meet up in the Columba club. Ed007 there won’t be much soda water left as that’s all I drink.

{Ed007's Note - ?? That'll be a first - a pub fight over soda water! I mentioned it on the Discord and a few of the lads are up for coming over so just let us know.}

26 Jun 2022 22:32:44
I lived at 54 St John Street till I was 18. My auntie had the Chiropodist shop across the road from St Pats and I had my first pint in the Argyll pub on the corner. The Columba buckfast club was through the close opposite St Pats.

{Ed007's Note - If this turns out you're related to Buzz and OK I'm getting my own TV show out of this: "Who the F**K do you think you 'ur".}

26 Jun 2022 23:06:31
gedceltic I remember going the chiropodist in St. John st I think her name was Frances don’t know if that’s the one you are referring to.

{Ed007's Note - It's like a Coatbridge version of There's a Guy Works Down The Chip Shop Swears He's Elvis.... There's a bird works in the chiropodist down St John Street that's called Frances...

26 Jun 2022 23:31:05
How does Saturday 9th July in the Coatbridge CC @ 3pm.

26 Jun 2022 23:33:55
My auntie and uncle stay in St. John Street.
And yes it’s the same house that I turned on the radio to hear McGarvey score to make it 3-2 at Ibrox in 1983.

27 Jun 2022 12:21:22
question for you bud but not football related, i can't remember the name of two blocks of flats that were knockd down in the seventies (i think) i'll try and tell how to get to them, go down the mill brae and under a bridge along a few hundred yard then turn left up a small hill i think their were a few semi detached houses and then the flats on the left, don't know if it goes under cuperhead or kirshaws it was so long ago. i remember the two tower blocks.

27 Jun 2022 12:29:04
Buzz mate thank you for the invitation to join you and the kind gesture to have us picked up. Unfortunately mate i do not finish work normally on saturday around 11ish so its straight to my cot. I am not worth a toss but again thank you so much.

27 Jun 2022 12:58:33
should have said buzz.

27 Jun 2022 13:26:29
First away game was Motherwell about 1995, John Collins scored at end of game, he was a sub after falling out with TB, first European game away was Barcelona 2004, 0-0 (David Marshall game) great memories.

27 Jun 2022 13:49:08
That’s a shame Rob, maybe another time.
dillits, That will be before my time.
That whole area has changed over the last 20 years with Marshall Street and Kellock flats being knocked down.

27 Jun 2022 15:36:05
thanks buzz.

27 Jun 2022 16:20:27

27 Jun 2022 18:58:54

27 Jun 2022 21:04:32
gedcelt it is a small world, I was giving it a bit of thought after I posted and it all came back to me. You’re Aunt Frances used to go to Spain with my late parents, she was quite a lady and I remember she had a parrot and she would say hello imitating the parrot happy days.

27 Jun 2022 21:55:54
??? good memories guys!
my first game was 91/ 92 against Borussia Dortmond and Gerry Creaney scored a thought he was the best ever back then! First away game was Hibs in 2000 we got beat 2-1.
