So if Calmac is out for an extended period of time it will clearly be a loss. Joe Hart will be the captain during that time period. I am not a big fan of having keepers as your captain. I much prefer the player to be in amongst the play. The biggest issue is outfield leaders. Who would be next in line if not Hart?
{Ed007's Note - Does it really matter in the short term who's captain on the pitch? Will wearing the arm band make Hart a better 'keeper or Forrest/Ralston a better player?}

It probably doesn't but as I said the biggest problem is outfield leaders. We have signed some good quality players but are going to be missing our 3 starting CM's from the first half of the season. We have good players who can come in and play but some games require that leadership to get a result over the line. Ralston/ Forrest aren't names that scream leader to me. Forrest has done well as a player but I don't see him as that vocal leader when fit.

Forrest seems to be a good shout. The footage of him interacting with the new lads suggests to me that he's something of a custodian of the club's traditions now. Haven't seen enough of McCarthy to know if that would an appropriate choice. CCV? Juranovic maybe?

Ralston he’s come up with some big goals and runs through anything for the team that’s whet u want in a captain.

Calvanti CCV and JJ are the 2 that came to mind for me as well. Here's hoping we can cope with the loss. Its a sore one.
