United Ireland and BB

A very interesting watch thanks but served to reinforce some of my fears. There is a massive cultural difference between Glasgow and Bournemouth and the gulf between managing both is enormous. Some of the rest is just stuff that personally I struggle with that doesn’t float my boat.

The fans comments reflects his interview with Linekar. His man management philosophy for example and quotes on the wall smacks of the new age life coach guru guff that filled Rodgers book.

Before somebody tells me I’m aware Rodgers is having a modicum of success currently with his pedagogy which just goes to show some people will buy into anything. Hardly Stein, Busby or Shankly material with thoughts of football being a form of socialism without the politics.

No surprise then that Eddie takes his advice from Rodgers. That also explains the criticism from the Bournemouth Loyal and I use the term advisedly. He has no Plan B albeit (quote) he won’t need one up here with four hard games each year and the same in Europe.

What a bunch of absolute walllopers.

The overwhelming reaction though was twofold. Firstly, I’d love to see the financial arSe falling out of the EPL. Secondly, where’s Hadrian when you need him.

What a nauseating podcast if undoubtedly informative. His success to date is such I hadn’t heard of him although that doesn’t say much so any information is useful from my point of view.

I remain of the personal opinion that his CV doesn’t merit the Celtic job. Where is the evidence to the contrary? If we’re hoping for a proven manager that would be in it for the long haul it doesn’t sound like Eddie is the man to me.

Can he attract the brightest prospects in Europe? On the plus side his disciples were giving him a tick in the box from a player development perspective. Recruitment? Who knows. He hated it up NORTH in Burnley! He sounds about as good a cultural fit for Celtic and Glasgow as Pope Francis for the Moderator of the Church of Scotland job. Or Rodgers even.

I’m being facetious and speak with tongue firmly half in cheek Eddie might be the best manager we haven’t had yet.

But not for me I’m afraid.

Although I will be 100% delighted to be proved wrong and will be cheering on the bhoys in green and white at Celtic Park if Eddie is at the helm.

I noticed the No Plan B comments and he will go like for like when making Substitutions.
My biggest fear about Howe is him not staying for more than One or Two seasons.
The positives if Howe becomes our manager is I believe he will take us closer to the level we achieved under Brendan.
If he can take us near that level in 2 years before going back to the pub league, then he will have done a magnificent job because it’s going to take a good manager to step us up a few gears.
