Looks pretty likely that Howe is going to be our new manager.

As you know he was not my first choice and I have some reservations about him.

He has some good qualities which I do think could benefit our current and future players as he does have a decent track record of improving players. He also likes to play attacking football, which if done properly is much more enjoyable to watch.

Hopefully I am proven wrong with regards my reservations as it will mean Celtic have been successful and this is one occassion I would be delighted to be wrong.

Anyway, I have said my piece for now and will give him my backing if he ends up being our next manager.

I am pretty much the same i have doubts but at same time their is enough there for me to think he can be big success. If he is manger we are all 100% behind him. What am more looking forward to is the fact its a full regime change so new fresh ideas.

Celtic need a new keeper and a whole new defence.
Howe likes his keeper and defenders to be comfortable on the ball and build from the back.
So hopefully Celtic back him in the transfer market and we give him a good squad of players to work with.

I think IF it is Howe it's a step up from the last manager but like you LaW I would have my reservations I think he would improve the club if he has his own men behind him his own coaching staff not our present ones but I still think we as a club could do better. I would be backing him though if it was him Not that it means much in the bigger picture.

Like you Tony, I have reservations about Kennedy and Strachan staying as I would like to have seen a full clear out.

I think that this is a big banana skin waiting to happen and made by the board.
Howe has managed a second rate pub league team, I think 20k capacity, a Russian owner who gave him a budget which will be way above anything he will get from us. He controlled everything at the club from hiring the tea lady up, that will not happen at Celtic, even with Peter Lawell retiring. He bought them survival, we don’t do that at Celtic. The board have decided that they need to appease social media and the press if they make this appointment. I suppose we will have full house of season tickets and if he messes up he can go. I also think that the club will have broken a lot of relationships which have been built up over years and have proved a success on and off the field if they make this appointment.
Having said all that if he is the new boss then I’ll be 100% behind him hoping for no banana skins.

Malika20 what relationships that are going to be damaged are you referring to?

02 Apr 2021 16:58:52
We have a lot of agreements for playing, technical, and commercial staff that have been made over the years with clubs and individuals who have people involved in this process. These people will feel ignored/ used if the club bends to social media/ press.

Let's get Howe (or whoever it is in) then we can get to the next topic on the agenda. players 😜.

I don't know what you're saying Malika about relationships built up with other clubs or whatever. We need a new manager and that's it. Or do you mean we need a "Celtic man" to keep these people happy that you allude to? If they feel ignored then too bad.

I take it by your response you are referring to man city, i don't see why appointing howe would jeopardise these connections, i think there is more chance of us losing these connections with man city due to Lawell leaving than by appointing howe.
