I just saw an article about Islam Feruz, remember him?
The late great Tommy Burns took him under his wing and even spoke up for him and his family at an immigration tribunal to get him allowed into Scotland, he was allowed to stay here and how did he repay Tommy and the club? By SH! TTING on us.
He went to London at first smell of money and apparently bought an £80k luxury car, BEFORE playing in the Chelsea first team, it seems his attitude was no better down there and he was shipped out on loan to 4/ 5 different clubs, he never scored ONE goal at any of his many clubs. Upshot of the story he was spotted playing for an AMATEUR side in Glasgow.
Sometimes KARMA takes a while but it ALWAYS catches up.

Spoke about this clown many times before Tim. if what you say is true then it couldn’t have happened to a nicer person! Arrogant wee p**ck and his behaviour towards our club was shockin! Cheered me up knowing he’s tumbled even further.

I don't think Tommy burns would have helped with his immigration thinking that Feruz would repay him by staying at Celtic. He would have done it because it was the right thing to do and the young kid didn't have to go back to a war-torn Somalia. That said, it's clearly a waste of talent if he's currently playing amateur football and had he stayed, his career could well have been totally different. I think you're bang on about the money though. If kids can buy an 80k sports car before they kick a ball, then there'll be many that feel they've made it well before the hard work has even started.

Watched a couple of si ferry's interviews, and the ones with mcgeady, caddis and others all mention the fact that the youngsters now have no respect for senior players nowadays and they are more interested in getting thousands of followers on social media than they are about getting into the first team!
