Celtic will sign given and santa cruz on loan from man city as they can only sign 2 loan players from 1 club that's why they didn't sign weiss, this is common knowledge at celtic park

My sources today have said that we will announce a major signing on either Tuesday or Friday, not Wednesday or Thursday due to the Europa League. The signing however will not wear the number 7 shirt. Due to the sensitive nature of the deal they will not divulge who it is!

Any news on 'marquee signings' to Celtic, editor?
Been lots of talk of big names from the board over past few months (Bullard, Cambell, Given, Bellamy, Keane, James, Owen, Ronaldhino, Mcfadgen, WEISS) - but is it just talk and we're stuck with Championship players and unknowns?
I really think we need a new no 7 - a Larsson/Keane/Bellamy kind of player, but instead we get Charlie Mulgrew, unknown freebies and we're still stuck with Sammy the Tranny up front!
Need some big names to bring the thunder back to paradise.
The only one im impressed with so far is Juarez TBH.

Neil Lennon's hunt for a new goalkeeper has led him to Newcastle United's Fraser Forster.

The 22-year-old shot-stopper – tipped as a future England No.1 – has come highly recommended to the Celtic boss.
Lennon has made no secret of the fact he is looking for a new goalie and is now attempting to prise the 6ft 7in Forster away from the newly-promoted Premier League side before the end of the transfer window.
SportTimes understands the St James' Park outfit are extremely reluctant to allow the player to leave either on a permanent basis or even on loan, having previously rebuffed interest from Burnley last month.
However, Celtic hope they will relent and allow him to move to the SPL – and the player himself admits he'd rather be farmed out than cooling his heels on the bench. "I want to be out playing first-team games and getting experience, but obviously it's up to the manager, and I've got to respect his decision, " said Forster.
"If I go out on loan again, that'll be brilliant. I just want to play football, especially after last year at Norwich."
Lennon is ready to pull out all the stops to secure his services after receiving glowing reports about the young keeper.
Former Celtic star Paul Lambert – a Parkhead team-mate of Lennon's – worked with Forster last season at Norwich and is a massive fan.
Forster recorded a record amount of clean sheets in League One for the Canaries and helped them win the title

Fulham have an agreement in place with Man City to take Given on a year long loan and pay 100% of his wages.

With Crouch ( Liverpool ) and Pavlyuchenko ( Marseille ) due to depart Spurs by the end of the window then it looks likely that Keane will be staying especially with Defoe injured.

Our targets will be Stuart Taylor GK Man City and Jo ST Man City.

As a Celtic fan I am really worried about this season. Despite some comments on here Rangers have made some fab signings. Beattie will score goals for fun and I would take him before any of our strikers. Weiss is a player WE wanted but he chose them and Jelavic will turn out to be a world class striker.

Lets face it how many of our players would get in their starting 11 now that McGeady has gone? Lets pray they get a few injuries or don't sign any more. U never know with Smith tho he always has something up his sleeve.

I posted a forum yesterday about lennon taking his time getting players and not paying the money for loan players.today in the daily record weiss has come out and said that lennon did not want to pay the money that man city wanted but the **** did.all you people who think lescott, given is going to celtic on loan or think that kean is going to be wearing the hoops again have to wake up.if he, s not willing to sign yobo on loan after being offered him(i think he is a brill defender and we can't afford to reject this offer)he must have a top class defender in mind.yeah right.2 weeks till the end and the bulls* t will be over.hope the thunder returns soon, brill result last night juarez and kayal look brill and ledley had a good game.

Ok lets get real, Given will go to Fulham when Schwarzer eventually joins Arsenal. Its looking increasingly likely that Andy Lonergan (GK)and Sean St Ledger (CH) will sign on deadline day from PNE as they desparately need the cash. The remaining funds generated from the sale of McGeady and whoever else leaves before the window, will be held over until the January transfer window, just incase there is no Europa League after Christams. No marquee signing for the no.7 shirt will be made during this window.
