Hi Buzz, do you know what percentage the ball is actually in play during Celtic Home and away games? I seen an article with the old referee Collina and the article stated that the ball was in play in the SPL for 54% of the 90 minutes. The premier league scored higher with 58%. With how we use our ball boys in would be cool to see the difference from a team trying to have the ball in play compared to the rest of the league. Thanks in advance mate.

Your correct, Celtic have the highest % both home and away.
Celtic have the highest of 73.5 % at home
And 73.9% for away league matches.
Sevco are next best with 67% both Home and Away.
St. Mirren have the worst home record.
They bring the % down with only 35% in home games.
Livingston have the worst away record, with also 35% for away matches.

Thanks mate, Thise stats are good mate. I was actually referring to the ball being in play on the pitch. Collina was saying that the ball is actually not in play on the pitch for over a 3rd of the 90 minutes in most matches. Through things like corners, free kicks, throw ins and time wasting. I’d imagine a Celtic park we improve on the stat of the ball being in play. Collina said that the time clock should be stopped to give a better on field product.
