Wonder what sort of money we have to spend on top of what we bring in for this summers rebuild.
Have seen us linked with a few players in the 5-6m range and I honestly can't see us spending that sort of cash on players unless it is to replace someone going out the door for more.
I also worry that the club may wait to see whether we qualify for the champions league before forking out any bigger fees.
That being said i've been trying to think of any potential free contracts or lower fee players who we must surely be interested in.
We match wages with most bottom end premier league sides so would surely appeal to players down there, howe would also be a big pull for them.

Then u go look for real quality esp in forward areas. that's where we should spend most of our money.

I don’t think that Hendry was given enough of a chance with us but think that he has profited from his loan spell. I also think he is worth a look before a final decision is made on his future, if he wants to be here.

Must remember WAGES are the big issue. Play for Celtic and get paid $15k pw or play in England and get paid $100k pw. Celtic cannot compete with the top leagues.

Too many players are reaching the last year of their contracts, which will result in their valuation to drop dramatically.
Celtic will do well to get £20 million for Edouard.
We could possible get £7 million for Ajer but the rest will go for peanuts.
Celtic will do well to get £3 million for Christie and another £3 million for Ntcham.
But it all adds up for the rebuild.

Personally I'd focus on spending the money on the spine of the team, specifically; GK/ x2 CB/ CM/ Striker.
I'd be looking to bring a few Scottish lads in like Ferguson, Campbell, Hibs bhoys etc
Paddy Roberts to challenge JF and two or three from outside the UK.
There are some very good players available on a free that would command bigger wages but would be automatic first team picks not projects.

On original post, if we wait to see if we make CL before spending, we won’t make the CL. Lawell tried that rubbish and cost us a potential £200 million at a loose estimate, over the last decade.

Agree pedro. We will do well to qualify for EL next season. League has to be priority anyway with CL group stages uo for grabs. Whoever wins it will be able to splash the cash next Summer.

Celtic have a 2 in 11 chance of Qualifying through the League Path.
Celtic will enter in round 2 and we will be seeded.
If we qualify for round 3,we will also be seeded due to Spartak Moscow finishing 2nd in the Russian League.
And then if Celtic qualify for the playoffs, we will probably be non-seeded.

I reckon we will get in £60m+ too. I've got a feeling we will push the boat out and the budget will be somewhere between £30-35m. Hopefully we get a DoF and new scouts in place ASAP and the budget is spent wisely and not blown on duds who contribute nothing to the first team.

I’d imagine £40-50m will be raised tops
Remember not everyone will get market value, some will be loaned to buys, some we will need to pay a portion of their wages to get them moved on, some will refuse to go and will leave on a Bosman next year.
We won’t give new manager all of it to reinvest either if he gets £30m I’d be happy tbh.
Could spend £10m buying the likes of Doig, Nisbett, Ferguson and McCart. Then 2-3 box office signings and we will have much better hungry young squad.
