Thatโ€™s amazing and worthwhile for all the hard work from the Celtic Foundation.
A great response from the Celtic Family.

They are two separate things UI one a great charity the other is the Football side of this club. Football side every one on this site and pay money to support their team surely has a right to say how they feel how the club is run and how it's doing on the pitch I can't believe for one minute that you have sat and watched a game and said this player is rubbish get him off if someone thinks something is going wrong surely they have a right to say it?

20 Jan 2021 18:53:45
tony if its two separate things why post it on the tweet about how thousands were helped a tweet were the posts should be posts of praise and well done. why go on a tweet were thousands were helped through a charity and cry about your team no doing well and you don't like the manager and Dubai.

yes tony i have complained about when players have played poor and shouted get him of but i don't only sing when i am winning. if you agree going on a tweet about how a charity has helped thousands to complain about performances then its a sad day mate.

Of course we are all allowed to voice our opinions, as that is what the site is for.

However, it is worth mentioning that the attacks against our club in the media, government and from ex pros, is a witch hunt, designed to tarnish the image of our club.

By aggreing publicly with these bampots only puts more fuel on the fire and helps them achieve their goal of turning fans against the club.

The people on the other side all know how important Lawwell has been in making us so strong financially and they would love to see him gone and are taking this opportunity to weaken his position.

All I can say is we should be careful what we wish for as the grass is not always greener on the other side.

20 Jan 2021 19:14:54
It does not matter how many good things that you do if youโ€™ve done something wrong. You will have to take the responsibility for that.
The Dubai thing was just wrong and should not be supported as this has brought considerable embarrassment to the club.
I appreciate that you obviously donโ€™t agree, but ask yourself this, same rules in place would you agree with them heading out to Dubai again next week.
Whilst the indefensible is defended, respect is not forth coming.

{Ed007's Note - Why was the Dubai trip "just wrong"? A lot of people are screaming that but nobody can say why.}

20 Jan 2021 19:19:14
I wouldn't in the same time do that personally. But I would congratulate Celtic for the charity work that they do. You know how I feel about the way the club is run at the moment and how I feel about Lennon but I would give praise when praise is due to the good things that Celtic do I don't think it's Hypocritical it's just expressing an interest in the club.

20 Jan 2021 19:28:07
LAW Do you honestly believe that this year has been a success do you honestly believe that we don't need to change things? It's not about agreeing with the media that has an agenda against Celtic its about the way this season has gone For me it's clear that changes have to be made I would say change in manager IMO is a must as for PL I would say some one has to make it clear to him what his job is and to keep to his job and not interfere with other aspects of the club that he really should leave alone.

20 Jan 2021 19:29:10
The Dubai trip was not a moral issue, so could be neither right nor wrong.

I am 100% confident that our club went ahead with the Dubai trip because they felt it was the best decision for the football club.

If I was in charge I would have made the exact same decision after weighing up the pros and cons. The fact one of our players contracted CV-19 while on the trip was just unfortunate.

20 Jan 2021 19:33:57
@the one and only. your missing the point if you think it was wrong or not don't post on a tweet were thousands of people in need have been helped by kindness of other people. thousands of people in need struggling and we have people on the post crying about a trip to dubai and having a poor season. 7 thousand people who were helped who are on the streets in that cold weather sleeping in a corner some were on the street now that's something to be upset about not a trip to dubai or your team not playing well. keep your moaning away from posts like that is all i am saying.

20 Jan 2021 19:34:44
It was wrong because we are in the midst of a C.V.
It was wrong because Dubai airport is a hub for flights from all over the world.
But for me it was most wrong, because the team goes and gets some warm weather training in 35ยฐ and then comes home and plays in near freezing conditions, would it not have been more sensible to stay in Scotland and train in the temperatures that you would be playing in.

{Ed007's Note - They've been doing the exact same trip for years now and nobody moaned about the temperature change when coming back, strange that ๐Ÿค” Sports people are flying all over the world because they are exempt from the normal rules so why single Celtic out for travelling on a government sanctioned trip?}

20 Jan 2021 19:37:41
The dictionary definition of wrong is either something that is (1) not true or (2) unjust, dishonest, or immoral. The Dubai trip did happen so it is true and it was not unjust, dishonest or immoral. We can argue all day wherever it was the wise but it evidently wasnโ€™t wrong.

20 Jan 2021 19:49:58
Did any other football clubs from the UK or any other country saunter off to Dubai or for a week long training stint?

My opinion is that just because the rules state you can do something doesn't mean you go ahead and do it, for me it was morally unacceptable and really quite selfish to head off there. The club is supposed to set standards and be an example for all who follow them. It's like ed007 says the club likes to think it is a champions league club, when do they ever behave like one?
By the letter of the law was ok to go to Dubai = Yes
Should the club have went to Dubai = NO

In life you reap what you so and we as a club are paying the price both on and off the pitch for letting those standards drop.

{Ed007's Note - Is it morally acceptable to sign a known racist, to have a manager that threatens women with knives etc, what about having Tory lords on the board? Holding the Commonwealth games at Celtic Park?
Don't start me on the morals pish, there's no morals in football.}

20 Jan 2021 20:03:12
royjac your answer to that is yes. Spartak Moscow are in Dubai for there winter training camp. big VVD is there just now doing some training recovering from his injury the same place Celtic were at. VVD is there even though there has been a travel ban just recently.

{Ed007's Note - Let's wait until the EL starts again and see what rules are in place for travelling to and from Scotland.}

I do think it is time for a change of manager but believed the time to do it was in December. Now that the league has slipped further away, I am less anxious for a change and have resigned myself to the fact that 10 in a row is going to be very difficult from the current position.

With regards to PL I am certainly not his number one fan but I do like to base my opinions of fact when possible. I have seen no evidence that he interferes in footballing affairs so can't really comment on that one way or another.

I also agree that the season started off with high hopes but for one reason or another it has not been a great one, thus far. Quadruple treble aside, I have been disappointed.

All that being said, I stand by my original point. The pelters we are getting for the Dubai trip are driven by hatred and politics and dispraportiante to what actually happened. I also believe that this is the time we should round the wagons up and protect all those under attack and don't give our detractors what they crave.

20 Jan 2021 20:23:25
Ed I don't get why someone voted Tory or a member of the Tory party they can't be on the Celtic board? Am I missing something on this? To me its like Jock Stein could not get on the Celtic board because he was a prodestant if the story is correct.

{Ed007's Note - Really? I've never heard that about Jock Stein except from Rangers & then TRIFK fans, just shows you eh? If you don't see what's wrong with having a Tory Lord on the board then it's not my place to explain things to you, Tony. I suppose you and your dad were all excited to see Maggie Thatcher at the '88 Cup Final.
Tories and the people who vote for them are THE scum of the earth.}

20 Jan 2021 20:47:04
I never really thought about Maggie being at the cup final My dad and myself did not like Thatcher but never really bothered about her being there. As for Jock Stein as I said it was something I heard long ago and don't know if it's true or not. But I would never judge someone because they voted Tory to me that is their own opinion.

{Ed007's Note - Well you should, they're all scumbags.}

20 Jan 2021 22:25:37
Should the majority of people have deemed the Dubai trip as acceptable then there would not have been the outcry there has been, why would PL apologise. people seen as legends of the club would appear to agree too.
Being pedantic I suppose but there hopefully has been a lesson learned
I was in no way decrying the charity works carried out by anyone these individuals are angels, salt of the earth.

{Ed007's Note - Isn't our current manager Neil Francis Lennon seen as a legend? But it's all opinions opinions and white noise, the question remains - what did Celtic do wrong by going to Dubai? It's not a difficult question, the folk running football and the Scottish government deemed it acceptable, that's why they went.
What was the lesson learned, don't listen to the people making the rules? That's awfy Trumpish to me and a dangerous path to go down.}

20 Jan 2021 23:56:18
Ed007 it may not have been wrong to go but come on you have to surely agree it wasn't the smartest thing to do at that time, if it were me after the way the players have been underperforming I'd have had them down at murder hill on Gullane beach ๐Ÿ˜‚.

{Ed007's Note - Celtic do a lot of things that I think aren't the smartest, the Dubai trip is merely a media driven mountain out of a molehill.}
