It looks like Crawford Allen has stepped up a level with his appointments for the next 2 league games.
Alan Muir will referee our game at Rugby Park and John Beaton will referee our game away to St. Mirren.
I’m sure the St. Mirren manager Jim Goodwin will be getting sleepless night ahead of his trip to Ibrox on Saturday after it was announced Baby Dallas will be the referee again in this fixture.
The last time Baby D was the ref in this fixture he awarded Sevco 4 penalties, with only one being the correct call.
To make matters worse for Jim,
Douglas Ross will be Baby D’s sidekick.

Wonder how many "honest mistakes" against us will be made this year, especially in the Sevco games.

Also be interesting to see the odds on how many yellow and cards per person per game will be.

Morelos 4 yellows 1/ 2
Jack 4 yellows 2/ 1
Arfield 3 yellows 4/ 1
Brown Straight red card 1/ 2
Christie Straight red card 1/ 2
Gump Straight red card 1/ 2

Bit sarcastic but you get the picture.

Which Refs are the Refs that help Celtic Buzz?

05 Aug 2020 14:28:44
None jim we don't need help.

I think the best referee in Scotland is Nick Walsh and I think he will referee his first Glasgow Derby this season. He got to be 4th official last season and is getting closer
I also rate Bobby Madden although I know he is a Sevco fan. But I wouldn’t mind him refereeing a game against them although I call him Brother Madden.
Wullie Collum likes to be the centre of attention too much which isn’t good for a referee. He makes loads of mistakes for both teams and is very unpredictable.
Andrew Dallas is a bad referee full stop.
John Beaton showed his true colours in the New Year game at Ibrox and that performance was unforgivable.
I wouldn’t mind Clancy and I was shouting for him to get his first Glasgow Derby a couple of seasons ago because I felt it was long overdue. But when his first big call came to send off Jon Flanagan for hitting Scott Brown in front of 49,200 Sevco fans he bottled it. Maybe he wasn’t ready at that time after all.
Alan Muir is a Sevco fan with a whistle and shouldn’t be anywhere near Celtic or Sevco games.
I’m not too sure about Don Robertson, I’ll need to see more of him this season.
In summary Jim I don’t mind Walsh, Madden and Clancy but the rest give me the
What Scottish referees do you rate Jim?

The format is much the same as last season with deliberate hand-picked officials every week to help and hinder where apprpriate.
They will also get their usual double-figure PK awards although four in one game again from Baby Dallas would be a hard act to follow.
It's imperative we recruit with intent and prepare meticulously for every game and expect honest mistakes - especially in tight games and at certain away games.

Clancy is useless and we've been on the wrong end of a few Belters from him.

05 Aug 2020 16:32:50
From mainly watching 90 mins of our games mate I'd say Madden. Easily the best. I'm not having a pop at you, but it seems that a section of our support are against every single referee. They're not against us, just crap. The moonhowlers suggest that the refs are out to stop the ten. Well then they really are crap because they couldn't stop the nine. I was half expecting you to come up with some stats as to who has awarded us more pens, showed the less cards etc 😀😉.

05 Aug 2020 17:13:57
I can’t be bothered looking it up Jim but if you have time check Maddens refereeing record.
In games involving Celtic, we have a brilliant record when Madden has refereed our games.
Going back mega years.

05 Aug 2020 17:52:58
I ended up checking those stats Jim.
Celtic haven’t lost a game Madden has refereed in nearly 5 years.
Also since he made that howler in denying Griffiths a penalty against Clint Hill In 2017,
Celtic have won 18 out of 19 games he has been referee in our games since.
The only game Celtic haven’t won was against Sevco was in December 2017 in a 0-0 draw at Celtic Park.
In his last 11 league games he has been ref involving Celtic, we have only conceded one goal and that was Ryan Kent when Celtic won 2-1.

05 Aug 2020 17:59:25
But from your OP there are refs that tend to punish us more? Or is it based on what sort of school they went to/ who their da is? Is there quantifiable data out there that show it or is it just perception?

05 Aug 2020 18:19:07
Agree with you buzz Nick Walsh seems to be the only one with a decent level of consistency which is why he hardly ever gets any of our games.

05 Aug 2020 18:49:00
Good man Buzz 👍. Madden isn't just good for us then I genuinely think he's a good ref. I would genuinely like to know though, which refs have made the most "honest mistakes" either against us or towards Sevco. Because in my eyes it's all BS.

05 Aug 2020 19:09:04
Jim I have already noticed a difference under Crawford Allen’s watch.
An example is Kevin Clancy a Catholic referee.
A Grade 1 referee since 2009 and an International referee since 2012 but yet under John Fleming he was never allowed to referee an Old Firm/ Glasgow Derby.
Since Crawford Allen took temporary charge and then got the job full time last year, Kevin Clancy has been referee twice in the big game.
My brother in law trained with the Lanarkshire referees for years and he told me it was made extremely difficult to make the top grade if you were a Catholic.

05 Aug 2020 19:25:02
I think that's perfectly plausable regarding your brother in law. Absolutely. Like you've suggested regarding CA, it would depend who was in charge. I have no doubt prejudice still exists, in all forms, in all circles (and it can be a two way street by the way) - this idea that the refs are out to stop us though, it's garbage. How many cups have we lifted on the bounce?

05 Aug 2020 20:46:59
Jim I agree it’s getting better and I think it will continue to do so. 👍.
