Apart from TV contract commitments what is the urgency to resume football during this emergency?
I see Germany are preparing to resume this month, while Italy, Spain and England are looking to follow soon after.
The stats in this country - whether you believe them to be totally accurate or not - show around 1,000 people still dying every two days.
So how can we resume a contact-sport, while telling everyone, keep social distancing indefinitely?
No handshakes, showers, spitting (obviously) , no spectators, or additional club personnel = Zero atmosphere and I presume static goal celebrations. There will be no additional income from catering or merchandising, but police/ stewards costs may be reduced inside stadia.
We all miss watching and enjoying our team and this unfortunate event took place in the middle of a real purple-patch on the pitch; but we must put this season to bed and plan precisely and wisely for 20/ 21.

Also add to that the fact that there has been over 2000 deaths of people who tested negative shortly after being tested.

Its all perfectly simple guys call the European places then finish season sept/ oct/ nov.
Then next season start feb 1st and we have summer football.
Its really not that difficult there just needs a willingness to do it and a small compromise with tv.

Agree TR99.

Simply resume the season when we can and start the next season accordingly with the appropriate break. We will eventually get the season back to the correct dates either in the short term or the long.

Willingness is the key word.

This season is done there will be no more top league games played in Scotland for season 2019/ 20? We can use this time to try to get next season started at a half decent time?

I very much doubt there will be European football next season I don’t know how they can get it up an running plus insurances I really can’t see it happening next season?
