If we dont sign a left back, centre half and a striker b4 the window shuts we wont win the league. We wont make these signings coz the board are just obsessed with balancing the books. We deserve so much better than this.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I think there is more to this with our board , do they get a higher bounus if they balance the books ? Think someone in the media should be looking into this am paying for season tickets strips etc and I feel cheated and I am sure there's plenty others feel the same, don't get me wrong I will support any players we buy because I love celtic but I feel cheated.

I think the reason we have not signed anyone yet, is that we are waiting to see if we go through tomorrow night, as if we do it will give Lenny the funds to get the players he wants. as at the moment we are skint.Hail Hail

I remember the disappointment of the last deadline day. I hope this one isn't the same. Lenny said tonight that nothing is imminent but there's only a week left so how can we bring someone in within a week without it being imminent? We usually take months to finalise a transfer so to be honest, it's not looking good. Hope i'm proved wrong though.

Ed007, going to watch Arsenal game, be on later, but just wanted to say this. You mentioned you wanted our site to be like Man Utd one, but they dont half post some long winded replies, do you honestly want our Celtic site like that? We enjoy a friendly atmopshere on here, thanks to yourself, and we have a laugh, not many laughs on their site or gers site for that matter. hail hail Timalloy {Ed007's Note - I meant that fans can have a different opinion about the club and discuss it without being accused of being one of 'them' etc. Half the time I don't know if it is a CFC fan or a Rangers fan at the wind up so I don't bother posting it, that along with all the childish stuff and just posts calling people names, just gets deleted.}

All the concerns about the tax case etc is soo pathetic it's untrue Worry about your own s**t team - uz will get pumped the mora as usual away from home in Europe Can't wait to play uz, we will demolish your mob this season

Not a rumour but just thought id share something with use that we should all take into account come Thursday night.

Attitude is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break, a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is, we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude.

Afternoon Ed007, wanted to comment on remarks made firstly by Wannyama about pressure of crowd, and then today by Maloney, that heat in Switzerland
has upset their eating and sleeping patterns. Is it just me? Or should these "fragile" temperaments not be allowed any where near the first team. We need strong players out there tomorrow.
My next point is, and I know I will get pelters for this, but play Samaras tomorrow, this is his type of game, holding ball up and bringing others into play, and also his running into spaces. Please give Sammy another chance, remember what he did to Rangers at Ipox, when he is in right mood he can win game for us. hail hail Timalloy {Ed007's Note - Afternoon Tim, I agree mate, I don't know what Maloney is on about, Wanyama is young and new to the club but Maloney should know better than come out with stuff like that.}

Believable7 Unbelievable2

I totally agree If you can't take the pressure shouldn't be in the first team, we need players who thrive under pressure remebember MON teams they were constantly put under pressure and written off but look at the fight they had. I know Lennon Is trying to do this along with playing good football but we need players who have the balls to take a grip of a game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Samaras should play tomorrow and this should be make or break. He's been given far too many chances by Celtic and this is the game he has to step up. He scored the away goal that put us through to the qualifier with arsenal when mogga was in charge so he can be a lone striker but he simply has to deliver. For me it's do or die tomorrow.
Kevbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Kevbhoy, I agree this is the type of game Lenny wants Sammy for, so here's hoping he gives a big performance. Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Sammy played at his best in a big game against Rangers when people had serious doubts over him and he obviously felt he had a point to prove.

Maybe recent pelters is the catalyst as he hasn't played a competitive game since last season.

If he does play tomorrow I think he'll play well. If he doesn't though I think he should be out the door.

hi fellow hoops. iv been reading a few posts here can anybody explain to me that if we are interested in a player why are we not putting a bid in for him. i dont understand the point of declaring interest if you do nowt about it. NL is the right man for the job but he may as well declare interest in messi, ronaldo and neymar if thats how things work. if the board truly wishes for NL and the team to be successful then stop windowshopping and pretend your on ebay and make a bid

WelshBhoy {Ed007's Note - There were that many clubs watching and scouting ALF, and Rotherham hadn't actually said he was officially available.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Hi Welshbhoy, I agree Lennon should start making concrete bids, heard Le Fondre available for £350,000 according to his club. go and put a bid in if we want him hail hail Timalloy PS Welshbhoy have you seen the thai tims kids singing about Joe Ledley?

Agree0 Disagree0

No not herd bout super joe. Dont agree with ALF pulling on the hoops. while i think the squad is capable of the league and a run in europe i strongly believe if any signings are made they should be quality to improve the team. yes we have unearthed a few gems kayal, izzy , ki etc and wilson and matthews look the part from what i have seen so far but i think proven quality should be brought in cos we must start bringing trophies back to paradise this year. Yes the SPL is not La Liga or the EPL but i am certain there are players out there who would love to absorb the parkhead atmosphere win trophies and play champs league. Speculate tto accumulate is the motto

Not a rumor just an opinion.. Right does anyone else ed007 included think Lenny should drop our so called stars for a week bring in youth players just to show that commons & co dont have to just turn up and not try.? {Ed007's Note - I would rather some of the youth got their chance than just signing players for the sake of it. Maybe start mixing some youth into the team. I wouldn't have a problem with that, how else will NL find out if they are good enough?}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Just posted this Ed coz took kids up for 1st game on Sunday Celtic lacked drive and passion fringe- youth players could put that back... Plus commons needs to run off pre season NANDOS. might also make 1-5 players think? {Ed007's Note - Valid points mate. IMO there should be 2/3 youth players coming through every season, not for every game but given a good few chances to impress. Even as you say, to push players who might have become complacent. A lot of fans would rather see money spent on some fancy named foreigner with a million £ price tag than see youth come through. CFC, Rangers, Man Utd even Barcelona etc have built their reputation over the decades on producing their own players and just buying quality. Even though it is through necessity with injuries etc over at Ibrox, they are at least seeing young players playing in competitive games and the youngsters are gaining experience.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Youth players wont bring that back . if anyone was at the partick thistle game at the start of the season you would have seen that. you might get an odd good performance from them but you wont get any consistancy . kayal , hooper , emilio , ki are all young our average squad age is 27 so the young boys wont make a difference.

Managers like McCall are always going to play right into rangers hands .
the young rangers boys just picked motherwell off on the counter attack but if it was celtic everyone would be camped outside there own 18 yard line as always . If motherwell camped in there own half rangers could not break them down so easily .

McCall played the exact same tactics as last season against rangers always playing into rangers strong points. if a team is good on the break you sit in and keep things tight squeeze the space's and close down men , you dont open up and let thewm play in behind you.

Motherwell will never beat rangers with mccall in charge.

Agree0 Disagree0

You do know how stupid that sounds right? So McCall tells his players "eh look lads, its Rangers today, I know we're top of the league and we haven't conceded a goal yet but Allys ma pal"

Talking of conspiracies, 9-0 v Aberdeen, did you forget that? Ex-player and rabid Sellik fan McGhee was the manager if I remember

Agree0 Disagree0

Right I'm the one who posted this .. Why have we loaned out o'dea, Thomson? And rogne hoiveld are better than big Dan on Sunday he couldn't control a medicine ball fringe defenders are better than what we ate playing now. & some e says youth can't do it none of the 1st team have scored in 2games .. IMO Rasmussen should be given a chance even young keatings.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think filling the squad with youngsters is a good idea as we haven't got many worth playing. That said we don't know if they're worth a shout if we don't give them a game.

However if they've been particularly poor I'd happily drop maybe one per game and give starts to e.g. Forrest, Wanyama, Matthews and Twardzik of whom most could play where Commons and Brown do who IMO have been poor so far this season. I also think we should bring more youngsters on when games are dead and buried as we usually bring on McCourt, Maloney, Sammy, Murphy etc. At least one of these could be a youngster (other than Forrest).

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed what's the latest with UEFA and Sion??

UEFA saying they are going to make a decision on Bocanegra before thursday? Yet no word on the ineligible players Sion fielded against the tic? Like i feared and said, they're going to get of scott free Too many swiss connections to UEFA. {Ed007's Note - As far as I know it will be after the second leg before any decision is made. The problem Rangers face is a completely different situation, if the SFA have given them written consent that Bocanegra was eligible then the blame will lie with the SFA of any wrong doing, not Rangers. The general feeling is that UEFA are hoping CFC put Sion out to avoid expelling them.}

As a Rangers fan I often check rumours and Banter from the champions' pages. Decided to see whats happening in the land of the hoops and I know as we have similar budgets etc we will occasionally be linked with same players but u can imagine the coincidence when the 1st 4 players (Banks Blake, mcdonald, Roque Santa Cruz and Le Fondre) on this page are all linked with Rangers on their page in last 24 hours.
Its only a Rumour site but cmon at least differentiate between Gers and Hoops and dont just post them on both sites

Old firm will be linked with same players as agents tout them at both clubs

we really need a striker asap. samaras should of been allowed to leave on a free. murphy, never understood the signing. Dont know if im keen on signing le fondre, it would be a gamble. Fair enough he is on form, but paying £650k for a league 2 player we would be taking a massive chance.
