Because celtic never claimed to have a £12m budget. We spend within our means whereas you dont spend at all. Anyway, £2m for goodwillie is a fair price but £7m for long is a tad inflated would you not agree?

Again you're missing the point.

Celtic have declared themselves out of the bidding for Long because we can't afford to pay £7m for him.

We are not going in with a bid of £3m to see how we will get on. This is the type of tactic Rangers have been using unsuccessfully. We simply declare ourselves out.

As for Bothroyd, lets just wait and see what happens. He has not signed for anyone yet, so you're a bit premature with you're argument.

The point we're all trying to make to you Tony is this - Rangers have so far lost out on ALL of their targets. Celtic have got the majority of theirs.

Thats right Miko remember this Celtic need 2 or 3 players Rangers need maybe 5 or 6 Celtic are also in a position to of load surplus players Rangers dont have that luxery so we have to be very carefull in what we spend the little money we got.

As ive stated guys i am very much aware that we have missed out on targets some im glad some im not but i thing better options will come along listen i dont look through blue glasses m8 but i aint gonna hit the panic button yet last season we where meant to win f all but against the odds we done the double was that because of a good rangers squad or a poor celtic squad i know we rode our luck sometimes but tell me champions that dont i also know we need to strenthen but if we can keep the bulk of our squad and ad 1 or 2 first team players and a couple of squad players then i still think we will take celtic all the way again and if it goes down to the wire again i think rangers have the experiance to get us over the line again like last season.

Tony. Think you'll need more players than that. Walter Smith said Rangers were thread bare last season and since then you've lost Bartley, Weiss, Diouf and Foster. There is a chance Rangers could lose one or two other players (such as McGregor or Whittaker). Weir is now an old man in footballing terms. I think Rangers will need to bring in a lot more players than you suggest.

Kev personally i dont think we need a target man as such just someone taller than hooper(with skill obv), we get the ball played along the ground most o the time. For dodgy away pitches(long ball games) i think we Already have the answer in razz. Damari, from what i have seen, is ideal for hooper for majority of games. Glasgow Rangers are champions we are not the team needing to do the signing as we havent lost any first team players , its the team who doesnt win the league who needs to improve. so even if we dont get anyone we will still run this league with the same team who played the last 6 games for rangers and conceded 1 goal

Damari is only a back-up providing Bothroyd doesn't sign. Celtic ARE still trying to secure a deal for bothroyd; wether it happens or not is a different matter. People mentioning Musoni and De Nigris are right, but we're just keeping 'eyes' on them. I'd only imagine Neil would bring in two forwards if Stokes, Murphy or Samaras were to leave. No doubt De Nigris would have been warned away by Juarez by now but Musoni does look like a very good young player. As far as i'm aware the Bellamy rumours flying about again are just unimaginative columnists filling gaps. Wouldn't rule it out though, same goes for Given ;)

according to bbc text Bothroyd is going to sign for everton looks like we are not the only ones missing out on targets

lets put this to bed once and for all there are players out there that clubs have over valued wallace 3mil 1 year left on his contract having a laugh

cuelar 3 mil one year left on his contract going to be injured for 6 months

there are also players who want to much money and are not worth it

and there are players out there that are worth the money they want but its a simple fact that clubs like rangers cant afford Maybe Danns Hamed

as i have stated before too many players put money over ambition and its just a matter of fact that the OF dont have enough i would rather rangers spent money on Nacho and vlad as these guys know what its all about to play for the jersey Nacho might be getting on a bit at 31 but he would bust a gut for the club thats the type of guy u need guys like Novo, Mcculloch, weir, brown, wilson, mullgrew etc guys who have an affection for the club. not guys like Jelavic, boogy, izzy, kayal etc these guys just use Celtic and rangers to get to the EPL.

lets face it guys these are sad days for the old firm as we are just feeder clubs for the EPL and now the championship

All this arguing about Craig Shyte. It would appear he either doesn't have the money all the orcs believed him to have OR he is another Romanov, who interferes in the manager's plans instead of backing him in his targets. Maybe he doesn't have complete faith in Sally but is giving him a chance due to him already being promised the manager's job. It is strange however that we are the ones always associated with the biscuit tin mentality when Lenny has and will continue to be backed with decent money by the board.
