Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

Over the years we have pulled some Jan stunts regarding signings, and I know that the usual players we are looking to at won't be available.
However this transfer window is bigger than we think, IMO.
We need to push the boat out if its for JG and a few others then fine, if not we really need a few new faces.
PL needs to get the Chq book out this window, i`m sure Ronny will have his OWN targets and they may not be household names, but I think that`s what we need.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Although we have all been disappointed transfer window after transfer window, I am sure that if we don't sign Guidetti, it will be because he is priced completely out of our range in wages and signing on fee.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we spend any money at all in the next transfer window I will be amazed it ain't going to happen remember this board is not willing to invest in the team no matter what amount of money is brought into the club.

Poll ed, Are fans happy with the football we seeing so far?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - That's 4 times you've sent that in now. There's no point clogging the page up with poll suggestions so unless it's included in a post they just get noted and the post gets deleted. I need to ask, do you mean Bolton, Celtic or Scotland? (wasntme)

Ed, maybe we could have a weekly poll.
It seems that some people start a new thread each week re Deila's ability to manage Celtic Football club .

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't need a poll to answer that. If we are using last season as a benchmark (an absolutely horrendous season deflected by a clever PR campaign highlighting "clean sheet record") then personally i'm absolutey estatic about the standard of football

Agree0 Disagree0

Dn I see you are a supporter that likes to see plenty of goals and no long unbeaten runs .
I didn't hear tell of any changes to our PR dept. this season, so I assume we have the same personnel as last season
I think now that we are in the long nights we should look forward towards what we can win this season .

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - The PR department don't do after match interviews and pre-match press conferences. You need to check what PR means, it doesn't take a PR department to use PR. My PR is shocking, it's hard to be civil when you generally detest mankind and everything to do with it - we don't have a PR department. Stop trying to be a smart ar$e, Chris, you were doing so well too. NL didn't need any help doing his own PR and he more than anyone spoke publicly about the 'unbeaten run', he was more concerned about it than a lot of fans. And when it was broken at Aberdeen.... he blamed the ref!

'I thought the referee ruined the game. It's not a sending-off. Pawlett was going across the goal rather than towards the goal.'

Granted I suppose it's better than 'heavy legs' or 'fatigue' although he did acknowledge that all strength isn't physical:

'It looked like we had the extra man. We dominated and didn't get the rewards all our good play and mental strength deserved. But sometimes you don't get what you deserve in football'.

I'll skip commenting on the irony in that last sentence and the fact the whole quote contradicts him blaming the ref - especially when we dropped the appeal against van Dijk's red card! In case you're wondering why I have the quotes at hand I'm doing PR work for Bolton and they want some pieces about NL. :)

Chris who doesn't like an unbeaten run?

Point I'm making is club felt the unforgivable league cup exit to morton, our shambles of a performance in europe to name a few didn't matter cause a new clean sheet record was set. By the way you do know that a team can have an unbeaten record yet have opponents score against them?

I'm going to be brutally honest here and know I will cause offence but I was relieved when clean sheet record came to an end. Reason.it brought back the reality of how $hit our season was and there was no distraction to deflect problems we had onfield and off

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Hand on heart I couldn't have cared less about the unbeaten run if I had tried. It was all for one man's ego, once the league was won he should have been giving young players a run out to see how they handled it, maybe they weren't fit enough.}

Ed I'm same regards clean sheet record. That's all some supporters base their argument that last season was a success on.

It's a natural managerial decision to rest first team players once any league is won to develop youth and give them valuable game time.

One of the problems with Lennon and why he was never going to be a good manager for celtic, was he still thought he was a player

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It didn't help that he seen himself as one of the Bhoys, he should have kept a distance from players on a personal level i.e out for a pint etc and had an authoritive marker of a line you don't cross when he's about. I'm not even commenting on a CFC manager being on Twitter but I put all that down to his inexperience as a manager, hopefully he's learned from it and will do things different now he's at Bolton.}

I genuinely wish him all the best at bolton. I personally think he would of done better if he served an apprenticeship before becoming celtic manager. Praying he does us all a favour and takes Ambrose

Agree0 Disagree0

Apologies ed I didn't know that, rumour has it Bolton are playing better football. A@ DN funny you mention NL inexperience and shudnt a got the job in your opinion (fair enough) but MON had a great team with much better players and was a manager with lots of experience and had won trophies yet cudnt get us into last 16 even with a massive budget. No doubt you will bring up Morton but did MON not have the odd embarrassing result too, WGS did with Clyde. Were they results the last straw with you too?

Agree0 Disagree0

What irritated me about Lennon and the Unbeaten run, was that as soon as it was gone, it was then a points record, after that failed it was then a goal scoring record bla bla bla.

I want a Treble, something we have not achieved since the demise of the once 2nd biggest team in Glasgow and this IMO was and is not acceptable.

Also Rayman, Bolton may be playing better, but reality is they could not have played any worse lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

Rayman you harper on about last 16, achieved in one season but what about the rest of his european adventures?

You mention MON, I'm sorry but getting to UEFA cup final wins it for me everytime. You do know there was a DVD produced called "The Road To Seville"? Can't remember Lennons last 16 dvd can you? Do you know how ridiculous a statement you have made?

You are clutching at straws trying to save face

Agree1 Disagree1

Rayman why did you use MON as a comparison and not WGS?

Agree0 Disagree0

I enjoyed the unbeaten run, for what it was the team going on a long time without losing in the SPL . It wasn't a manager thing or any individual player but to me it was a Celtic club record . I support Celtic and I don't allow hatred or love of individual get in the way of enjoying success . Individuals come and go ( and of course we should let go) but I supported Celtic probably before anyone currently employed by Celtic joined them and I will continue .

Agree0 Disagree0

@ DN reason I used MON because you said NL shudnt have got the job as he had no experience, so I was comparing to 1 that did. But the 1 that did cudnt gt us to last 16, and the 1 that didn't did. So kinda ruins your theory. Like you I loved Seville I was there as you prob were. But I never been so gutted after a defeat. Looking at it now we lost and the club didn't make much out of it. THe ONLY way we can make good revenue these days is CL, its the be all and end all till things change. Here is a wee scenario for you. Imagine we won the treble last 3 years and never got in CL. Then imagine we got in CL last 3 years but never won the cups. What scenario would you take? And can you imagine the kind of team we would have without the CLmoney because we not exactly buying top players with it so can you imagine the players we would have without it.We not exactly a great team the now, so imagine the kind of football we would be watchin with inferior players than we have now.Cos that's the reality of the situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

@rayman you make last 16 sound like a major achievement, bigger than reaching UEFA cup final. Your only defence of Lennon is "last 16" chat, but how was the other 3 european campaigns he was in charge of?

2010-11 we got knocked out first CL then Europa qualifiers by Braga and Utercht.

2011-12 Got beat by Sion in qualifier and put back into Europa League by default. FINISHED 3RD

2012-13 Last 16 of CL

2013-14 FINISHED BOTTOM OF CL GROUP.

Sorry I'm failing to see how you could possibly even try to argue Lennon was a success in europe.

Lennon spent a similar figure to WGS and WGS GOT TO LAST 16 TWICE.

You have absolutely no argument regards MON.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Nov 2014 20:12:47
mon spent a fortune compared to wgs and nl he nearly put us in to bankrupsy but I loved every bit of it he filled celtic park every week

Agree0 Disagree0

Exbhoysguild MON did spend a lot in first season, but over the rest of his tenure in total spent less than WGS and Lennon

Agree0 Disagree0

@ DN you do make me laff. I have no argument? Why? is it because you say so? Do you live in a fascist state where only your opinion counts? The WHOLE point here is you said he shudnt have got the job. I countered by saying he did what an experienced manager cudnt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rayman you have no argument that is credible to suggest Lennon was a success in europe. It was you who brought up MON stating although he was experienced could not take celtic to last 16 in CL and Lennon did.

I merely stated facts that the experience of MON took celtic to UEFA Cup final, far better than reaching last 16 once.

What happened to the other 3 european competitions under lennon? Surely now you will save face and at least acknowledge that lennons inexperience was evident

Agree0 Disagree0

@ DN you have went from callin me a liar to having no argument to now having no credible argument. I think its your credibility in question here. You even tried to bring in transfer fees which had nothing to do with it.I never once said NL was a success in Europe (how you luv to put words in my mouth) I said he did what MON cudnt and you can't give him any credit for it. Last 16 for us is a very credible thing just like Seville is very credible but you choose to give credit to 1 but not the other.

Agree0 Disagree0

How's my credibility at stake? Everything I've said is based on factual evidence and actually happened.

Don't know if your aware, but transfer fees are a significant part of any clubs budget.

Rayman this page is a banter page, if you can't handle the pace it's probably best you take up cross stitching or knitting or something

Agree1 Disagree0

If I took up knitting you would call me a liar. Then a fool for doing so. Then prob bring up the fiction about how NL never made money for Celtic lol.

After a couple of full houses at CP, any idea how much we were charging the SFA to use the stadium? At a rough guestimate, and going with an average ticket price of £40, gate receipts would have been around 5 million. Surely a nice wee earner for us.
I also thought the minutes applause for the young guy who died was a very decent gesture from both teams/fans.

Wakaso has just scored for Ghana:

It even beat the camera man. A couple of them against Salzburg please.

3 players a wld go for in jan are! Andrew Robertson, ikichi anya, and barry bannon, 3 players a think we could get! Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Nov 2014 17:27:54
Robertson? lol rule that 1 right out mate

Agree1 Disagree0

Ikichi Anya yes I would love to see him at Celtic would be a good addition we will Defo need a CB though

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Nov 2014 19:40:14
Sorry Bigc79 you will get nowhere near Robertson, Anya maybe and I think we have better players in the squad than Barry Bannon.( not that's poor just that we have better payers )

HH

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If NL was still boss Bannan would have more than likely signed in the summer. The club tried to sign him in January, him and his agent had meeetings with PL while he was up watching games and the deal was all agreed but a fee couldn't be agreed with Aston Villa.}

Aye, I knew that Lambert boy from Linwood was bad news 😆
Personnally I wouldn't really want Bannon . I think he is similar to what we have . I would like us to buy bigger and stronger players as our team is a bit on the small side.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Nov 2014 15:48:32
Anyone heard anything regarding who we will bring in in January? Think we should look at Ikechi Anya. Not always a starter at Watford but would probably slot straight into our starting eleven.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Nov 2014 09:29:17
See marseille are being linked with guidetti now. Starting 2 get worried wether we have any real chance of signing him now tbh

Believable1 Unbelievable0

It is inevitable that when Guidetti starts banging the goals in, he will start to attract interest from other clubs.
I just hope he is true to his word, when he says he loves it here, and that money is not his main motivation.
I have no doubt he does love it here, but the cynic in me worries that money is usually the deciding factor for players these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Nov 2014 12:25:39
That's what I think gerry. I think he does genuinely love it here but if he gets offered 2 a club with more wages and european football then couldn't blame him for choosing someone else

Agree0 Disagree0

He's still young gunniebhoy, if lawell offers him a decent contract, he could stay for awhile then move on
Hopefully

Agree0 Disagree0

Gunniebhoy I know its hard but don't listen to media on speculation. They are just trying to cause drama to sell papers. January will soon be upon us and we will have a clearer picture.

Guidetti has openly admitted he is loving his time at celtic and Lawwell being as shrewd as he is with signing policy, I believe will pull out the stops to sign a say £8m rated player for buttons development fee with view to selling him on for a bumper profit in future.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Ed002 is going to find out for me, I asked yesterday when I first heard about but she's in Monaco attending a gathering of the football 'superpowers' and Marseille are kind of frantically busy with their current legal problems. I'll let you know asap}

Cheers Ed. I can honestly see a massive revolt from fans if Lawwell messes this one up. I'm Confident though Guidetti will sign permanent deal. Makes financial sense

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Nov 2014 17:30:14
DN a never read the rags tbh a just seen a post on fb about it but trying 2 keep positive about us signing him permanent but with the way our signings go these days or lack of them in terms of money spent that's what worries me

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Lawwell will know by now whether Guidetti will be signing for us .
I think there will have been talks about talks which would have cleared the air .

Agree0 Disagree0

Kind of going of topic slightly but there's been a couple of times in past few weeks guidetti saying he'd like to play in front of a full house at celtic park . Do you guys think he would stick around a bit longer if we started getting the crowds again being honest hearts and the Rangers both probably come back up so the crowds should get a bit better ., or do you think the clubs put words in his mouth hoping it might have the desired effect to get the crowds back . I know it's different from the two scotland matches in past week, but I'd love to see us get back to these sort of crowds . Cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

GunnieBhoy I share same concerns about transfer policies. I'm praying Lawwell doesn't mess this one up. Just realised there, if lawwell signed finnbogason instead of pukki and balde, what a strike force we would of had at the moment playing alongside Guidetti

Looking at the poll for today (only 4 votes so far). I can't believe that people would vote against paying the living wage. Would love to hear the reasons for not paying it. I can only think that it would be financial and clubs might not be able to afford it but it does not stop them paying ott money to directors and players. At first I thought it was a strange poll but I guess it could generate discussion. (I may have answered my own question but I will looking for any thoughts and reasons)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are all core/permenant employees on living wage? or are you talking about casual/gameday staff

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If companies are accredited by the Living Wage Foundation it covers all employees, even sub-contractors. If you're not paying the Living Wage you don't get any business.}

How did Mulgrew play tonight? Sorry I forgot to ask earlier

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There were a lot of mistakes made by the whole team tonight but he put a decent shift in. The full game is on the itv player

Agree0 Disagree0

Mulgrew was lucky to stay on the park for an personic challenge trying to rectify a problem he created himself with his usual misplaced pass.Fans call ambrose a bomb scare, for me mulgrew is no different.killy.

Agree1 Disagree1

Killy I personally don't rate mulgrew at any other position than CB. I can see us signing a natural CDM to solve problem.

I wonder if Rayman will be blaming Deila (is that correct spelling jim1972?) or praising strachan for "getting the best out him"

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't want you turning up for your 1 game a season with delia on your out of date shirt, that would look bad now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lmao there's no comeback to that one jim lol

Agree0 Disagree0

With regards to my post about Charlie mulgrew in last nights match I don't know where the word PERSONIC came from it was meant to be personic.I don't even know what it means or if there is such a word who's the person now.killy.
