watched juventus beat udinese tonight, look so solid at home yet dynamic, a very well accomplished young side, almost a blueprint for where we want to go under lenny. we need a result at cp cosh and hammer I say go for broke. danny

Make no mistake we are underdogs here.I hope the crowd understand that and stay with the team on the night.It's been proved before we can drive them on........green jhedi

Good to see Hooper had his mind on the game today - with all the recent speculation - and it's always good to beat the poison dwarfs, even after a wee hiccup.
I can see the real test for NL and the board being the last couple of days of this window, as EPL managers under pressure will be forced into panic bids and our resolve will be tested with very little time to replace.
The vast amounts of cash involved in the over-hyped EPL invokes so much fear of failure in managers in the bottom half and poor Paul Lambert looks ill.
It's good to know that PL & co have been talking continuously with our stars and their agents to protect our interests, but there may be hard decisions ahead?

Jungle Jim

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I have said since the summer that Lambert had madethe move from Norwich too soon. Especially to Villa?
Villa may be a 'bigger' club but he built that Norwich side up from nothing.
The Darren Bent situation is odd. It looks(from the outside) like Lambert has tried to mark his authority in the dressing room - and has backfired somewhat.
He does look ill, and I think he will most likeley get the sack...................kbt1978

Commons needs to go watched him today he is to fat yea he set up one goal but what type of footballer after 60mins has a stitch HE WENT OFF WITH IT get rid back to the champ as for hooper he bangs the goals in but he may of scored 2 today but if his first touch was better he would of had 5 I just want Lennon to buy a good striker RHODES just buy him and even if hooper goes so what

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Commons has a rib injury ya clown he didn't go of with a stich

The kind of money to buy Rhodes could be spent keeping hooper. I'm sure he'd stay if he got his rate. Hooper is a known sure thing for us, Rhodes isn't.... Could end up like a Kenny miller.

Agree2 Disagree0

I think - on his game - Commons is one of our best players. He has great skill, is comfortable on the ball and chips in with a load of goals and assists. He also holds his own in the CL games easily.
But we all have our opinions....

OP Got to agree with Jungle Jim Commons one of our most skillful player's, some of his touch's are amazing to watch and as soon as he got up from that tackle I could see he was hurt.As for being fat gie's a break.

Just watching the Juve v Udinese game. The boy Pogba (the one they got from Man Utd) is definitely the one to watch. Two stunning goals tonight. I would get big Vic to shadow him everywhere. . Wish we had him!

Davie Blantyre Bhoy. {Ed007's Note - He is an absolutely fantastic player Davie. He should go on to be one of the top MFs in the world and he is not even 20 yet.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Watched the Juve game tonight aswell mate, Pogba was immense. Both his goals were screamers, first one was the better of the 2 IMO. Man Utd must be kicking themselves at not giving him the contract he wanted. Can't wait to see big Vic against him! Big vic would certainly win the physical battle.

Agree2 Disagree1

Ed. What was the issue with Pogba at United? Why did they let such a good player go or was it a case of him wanting to leave?

1903 {Ed007's Note - AF was more than happy to keep him. Some people say it was over game-time that he left, especially with Scholes coming back, the truth is he was angling for a move well before Scholes returned. Pogba was getting poor advice from his representatives and was promised future incentives that he wouldn't get if he remained United's player. His representatives motive was more than likely the £1.7m agent fee and future monies earned as they see Pogba as no more than their own cash cow. United offered him £25k a week, the highest they have offered any youth player in their history, they could have offered him £40k and it wouldn't have mattered, he was always moving to Juventus.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed. Just another example of how money and some agents are ruining the game.

Iam getting sick and tiered of hearing about Hooper if he does not want to play for a fantastic club (Celtic) let him go . Norwich haha when are they going to be in the champions league that's right never when they going to win any cups that's right never. Well Gary let's face it no English clubs in the top 6 will come in for you so you will win fuxx all. best of luck ul need it . Hail hail

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Hooper has not said a word.If he stays, good, if he goes, he goes with my blessing. Why does everyone need to put him down though.
He is English and would like to back in his Country.I wish him well wherever he goes.......and that's still IF he goes.

Personally I think we should make Gary Hooper the highest paid player at the club 30k a week this is a future England striker we have on our hands, if he does leave and it's inevitable he will we will get at least 8-10 million for him, Hooper is so much more than a goal scorer, credit to the coaching staff as he has made excellent progress. Ian L

Believable8 Unbelievable4

King of kings big Sutty then super Hooper imo are the top 3 strikers in recent times, viduka would be included so would cadette if they had worn the hoops longer & weren't looking to get out the door within a season. Hooper may see his future back down south he may sign an extension ? When he does go we will be seeing a tidy profit probably the summer, I like the way he plays & has done the biz without kissing the badge & shouting his mouth off plays with a smile on his face can handle his self but never dirty. Why not put a clause in his contract that if gets an england call up we'll give him the 30k a week he's looking, surely then his valuation will rocket up as we know how the english pay silly money for their internationals specially a half decent striker you would have to be talking double figures in terms of millions, I just can't see what norwich can offer him other than a few months in the epl, no disrespect to the norwich fans as we've made good friends down there. Whos name is on ppls lips during pre season on the four corners of this globe? we have millions of fans world wide we are a super star club hands down, has norwich got that pull in world football? (apologise about the arrogance but that's the reality of the situation)i just don't see why he would risk all that and end up back in the championship were he started for an extra few k a week more norwich arent going to pay that wage if they get relegated lets be honest. so gary just sign the contract and stop fannyingbout, forget about this norwich nonsense YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE. Belfastbhoy

Agree5 Disagree0

Tottally agree with OP - give hoops the wage he deserves and put min sell on clause in contract so that both parties are covered. Hoops is a true gent, never once bad mouthed the club and I can understand that he wants to play for his country but IMO the best way to get the chance is to play well in champs league (just like big fraz) and I am sure Roy Hodgson will include him in a squad vry soon and then they will see hoe good a player he is, a goalscorer yes but IMO a very very intelligent footballer too.......not many of them about ! C'mon Celtic, show your faith in this boy....give him the money he deserves !

Flats, flats, glorious flats! You gotta hand it to the Green Brigade.Thought we were patchy again today but hertz are bloody awful to play against, brines did not help by refusing to clamp down on webster and barr, though Hooper played well.I also thought we had a better balance when Kayal came on.Broony and Matthews were solid the whole game and it's another three points nearer wrapping this title up.By the way did'nt Lassad take his goal really well?............green jhedi

Believable7 Unbelievable0

When the green brigade do banter with a bit of thought & creativity they prove why they are the best backing in the land. Great pride when they do it & show there support for our love that is Glasgow Celtic. RIP Sean Fallon, our thoughts & condolences to his family. AbS

To all Celtic fans I'm sure there's just a few of you who don't have respect for other clubs today Norwich got a good kickin but that proves how hard it is down here in the EPL if we get hooper great but that's not going to solve everything if we don't have ruddy and bassong we are rubbish. So Celtic fans any good defenders in the SPL who you think could cut it in the EPL. {Ed007's Note - Your boss thinks that Mulgrew and Matthews could.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Dont encourage them Ed ! Seriously though I think all our defenders would walk into any of your bottom half epl clubs & again my opinion a few could play in the top half no problem. Was happy to sign the petition that was posted & encourage all bhoys & ghirls to do likewise. AbS

Norwich trounced by liverpool today... a warning to hooper if he's thinking about moving to an relegation battling EPL club. To be fair to hooper, if he is wanting away no one can say he is slacking with his performances and his attitude on the pitch is very professional. To me, if anything it looked like he was enjoying himself today.

celticthomas

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Hooperman is a great player for Celtic and i'm sure would be delighted to stay if we could match his rate he could get elsewhere. He has never said anything negative is always energetic and upbeat and a true professional. We really need to pull out all the stops for this lad. He's worth it. The CL money, gate receipts, TV money, cup run money, advertising, shirts and merchandise, Ki money and hospitality surely puts us in a position to keep him.

Agree5 Disagree0

Keeping Hooperman wouldn't open the floodgates. The other players in the squad know his worth. When he bangs them in he's winning everybody's bonuses. Winning games, cups and SPL bonuses. It would be a huge morale booster to the other players and to fans if PL can squeeze open the purse in this instance and keep the lad. We want to be in last 16 every year, not a one off and Hooper will cost £10m to properly replace. {Ed007's Note - Players don't actually care about his worth to the squad, if CFC broke the wage structure at the club for Hooper then there would be others looking for the same money, and rightly so.}

Gary Hooper just can't stop scoring can He? Just putting it out there should we offer Him 30k a week? Is there an unwritten Rule in football that the captain should Be the highest paid player at a club? With Neil Lennon saying he wants to stay realistically How much is Hooper actually looking for?
Personally I think he's definitely worth 25-30k A week. I think he worth breaking the bank for I really do, even if we keep him for another year or
Two we will easily get our money back on him, The boy not only has an eye for goal as we all Know but I think he's got a bit of class aswell, just
Look at his goal a few weeks ago against Dundee.

Celtic should now change the way they set out players contracts, in light of the talent we seem to be finding such as Hooper, Wanyama, Mathews, if a player shows great promise a new contract should be offered early on, but with a release clause, so the likes of Hooper would have 10 mill, Wanyama 15mill etc, most big european are doing this with their top players and would stop crap clubs in the EPL from stealing our talent for peanuts, te time for cheap cut price deals to England should now be over and top dollar should be paid, an 18 month 30k a week offer should have been made to Hooper with performance bonuses and a min release fee of 10 ill, that way both parties would know wher they stand and so would any clubs inerested

Believable2 Unbelievable1

A player is only worth what other clubs are prepared to offer even if hooper had a 15 million clause in his contract what difference would it make ?? if norwich offered 7 million tomorrow the club would still have the same decision to make take it or leave it their won't be a long list of clubs lining up 15 million offers just because it says it in his contract

How ever much we want to think we are we have along way to go till that happens. He sounded like big Vic, also he told me he was at the 7-1 game and he worked with Sean and ran into him and had the all the players sign his ticket and that Celtic actually wanted it to put in the case.
