Don't know how much truth in it but reports today Sunderland want to take Lewis Morgan on a season long loan. Looking forward to seeing him in action next season, at the same time to go there and play under a manager who knows him well might be good for his development. BR will do what is best for the lad if there is any truth in it so be happy either way.

It's a tricky one Stan but it's certainly plausible. On one hand he could be the cover for Sinclair domestically. On the other, he might be guaranteed more game time down there. Like you say, whichever BR sees fit would do me.

Unless we sign a winger I’d rather we gave him a chance and if he isn’t getting games loan him out in January. However with Hayes and Christie coming back I think we will loan him out for the full season.

01 Jun 2018 14:49:19
He should definitely be given pre season to see how he does. I'm hoping he does enough that so that he won't have to go anywhere but can see the pros of game time under a manager he worked well with. Time will tell i guess.

01 Jun 2018 15:47:53
Work with an st mitten st holder he thinks he could certainly play in the spl for us, but you have to handle the pressure and expectancy so time will tell.

01 Jun 2018 16:31:43
It all boils down to what BR’s plans are for him. If he isn’t going to feature heavily then it could be a fantastic move but due to the poor recent form of Sinclair he might just find himself given every chance to make his mark.

01 Jun 2018 19:55:46
I’m really looking forward to seeing Lewis Morgan making his mark at Celtic and if Scott Sinclair is still out of sorts I can see you Lewis putting pressure on him for a starting spot, the Bhoy has all the attributes to be a good player for us .

01 Jun 2018 21:37:02
I think we are making a mistake pigeon holing the kid as a wide player. I really expect him to kick on but more in the pitch, two footed which always helps.

01 Jun 2018 22:12:30
If we want to be regarded as a really stupid club, if we were to loan Morgan out for the full season . Are we so rich now that we can afford to buy a youngster at an important part of his development and transfer him out immediately and not let him find out how we train and developed our players . Have we not got top coaches at Lennoxtown . Remember we had two players Mosounda and Paddy on loan last season and both were basically ignored for permanent players of our own.

01 Jun 2018 22:41:05
A drop in form and an injury and we will struggle for wide players again. There's no point punting him out on loan again unless BR has another winger he wants to bring in. I want us to score more goals next season. He can and will for us if given the chance.

01 Jun 2018 23:59:08
If Sunderland struggle which they will. Do you think for a second that the resulting fan and board influence will give the lad playing time? There will be a few in that squad that have cost a mountain of cash more than him. If the club is doing badly the out his depth jock card can and will be played. Why put a decent young player through that? Last time I checked we aren't in the market for any of thier players. He could be two bad results down there from rotting on a bench. It's a non story and a complete non starter for me. Keep him here. Or our transfer policy for other young talents has to be consistent. Train well, get a chance. Impress and you can't start then we will find a club to let you start and grow at a good level. January loan minimum.

{Ed007's Note - I can't see Sunderland with their income, budget and new owners struggling. They're a stick on for promotion at the minimum I reckon. Most Sunderland fans are bonkers and will back their team no matter what, 28k in the Championship is better than some of the tinpot clubs in the mega-rich English Pub League with all their tourists and fan-boys.}

@Stan. I hear you, but is pre-season enough to gage him? Benyu had impressive spells pre-season and a loan was still seen as best for him.

@GJ. I wasn't trying to pidgeon hole him as a wide man. Admittedly I've only seen clips online of him but did notice he's played down the middle/ took up central positions too. I just think there's even less chance of him playing down the middle than there is out wide.

Chris at the moment it is a rumour which has been brought up by the media so we are discussing it. You seem to think every player that goes out on loan is finished yet look McGregor, Ajer, Christie. Other clubs have good coaches aswel you seem to be of the opinion that our youth players are better being coached and playing againsts bairns in the developmemt league rather than being out playing against a higher level of opposition, as would be the case with Morgan at Sunderland. Nothing to do with us being a stupid club or so rich. I suppose Aitchisons Celtic career will also be over if he goes out and plays weekly for Dundee Utd? Nah let's have him play against the same players he has been playing against week in week out for years, that ain't development no matter how good our coaches are. Morgan will hopefully do enough to be part of our squad next season but as i said, if BR thinks it is in Morgans and the clubs best interest to be elsewhere for 6 months or a year then happy for him to be the decision maker.

02 Jun 2018 15:15:35
I don't believe Sinclair will get back to season 17/ 18 levels. Looks lost. Back to where he was with Villa. I might get pelters but if he went, based on form since Christmas, I would not be bothered. can't see a return to form. BR was not even giving him a start and gave him minutes in the cup final. Tells us something.

02 Jun 2018 15:48:06
Morgan has to be given a chance. Why buy him
If we didn’t think that. He is another project though and if Sinclair finds his form I doubt he will play many games, but he should get a run if Hayes got one.

02 Jun 2018 16:53:20
more likeley to be in jan.

02 Jun 2018 22:17:39
Am a Paisley bhoy and friendly with a St Mirren fan who goes every week Says the bhoy has the lot, quick footed and a good eye for goal plus a really really good attitude

If we are sending players on loan I prefer they go to Scots clubs it's easier to keep a wee eye on them ourselves plus they can't play against which gives us an advantage over every other team in Scotland before a ball is kicked (Y)

03 Jun 2018 18:36:21
Stan, we have sent out over 100 players over the last 10 years or so on loan . You claim 3 have been successful, does that mean you think 3% is a good return .
Maybe the three that you mentioned, would have become good players without going on loan, sending them on loan may only have delayed their progress. You must be the only Celtic fan that thinks elbows McCullagh is a better coach than any at Celtic . I think Ajer at Kilmarnock knocked back his Celtic career by at least 6 mths.

03 Jun 2018 20:11:14
Maybe they would have Chris but let's deal with reality - they did go out on loan! and having all played on a weekly basis at the clubs they were loaned to they have obviously improved. As for elbows where did i say he was a better coach!? Stop talking drivel. Ajers loan deal set him back 6 months? aye that's why Ajer himself said it improved him, as did BR. I think i will go with their judgement on the matter thank you. You do understand other humans are allowed to have an opinion on the club they support 😂 have a werthers and chill .

03 Jun 2018 20:26:29
Ajer said “Compared to where I was when I arrived last year, I feel I’ve developed a lot for the six months I had with the gaffer and the rest of the staff here. They wanted to help me a lot and I developed so much in the first six months here at Celtic and then going out to Kilmarnock for the last six months, I developed even more with the game-time. I feel in a much better state now than I was 12 months ago. I feel that I am a better defender and I feel that I am ready to play here for Celtic. Obviously there are fantastic players here and everyone wants to play, everyone wants to do really well in training as well So there is tough competition, but when you’ve got so many really good players pushing each other every day, you only develop more as a pl.

04 Jun 2018 10:00:58
Never OMC Ajer came on leaps and bounds at Kilmarnock and even elbows said he was someone else for his age

That is my point get them to a Scottish club it will be there bread and butter anyway plus they can't play against us 👍.

04 Jun 2018 11:30:22
Don't think it's the coaching necessarily that improved him, it was playing competitive matches every week in a struggling Kilmarnock side, think he was man of the match in the first game he played for them, or in one of the first, playing in these kind of games will make someone or break them,

05 Jun 2018 23:17:34
Are we now reduced to quoting what a player, who doesn't want his windows broken or car scorched says after leaving a loan club . Players are trained to praise the club he is leaving .

Remember, Stan, 3 players out of a 100 over the last 10 yrs or so have come back and played for us and you call it a success .
The benefit on loaning players out, is that it iseasier to move players on.

06 Jun 2018 09:46:49
Who was the last loanee to get his windows smashed in or his car torched OMC.

07 Jun 2018 22:52:52
Stan, please don't tell me how I think.
