A lot of people saying Celtic got lucky!
We got 9 points which was more than the two teams below so we finished second in the group. This meant we qualified for the next round.

Lazio second with 9 points
MalmoFF second with 9 points
Rennes second with 9 points
Bate Borisove second with 9 points
Fenerbahce second with 8 points
I don't call that luck. I call it qualifying.

I can recall the old rangers qualifying with 7 points, now that is what you call lucky.

We got lucky because of the late goal from rosenburg . but deserved it for having more points . and if our finishing was sharper against Leipzig at home it wouldn't even have been a concern.

It's strange that because it came late it 's considered lucky. If Leipzig played a draw with Rosenborg in gameweek one then it wouldn't be so lucky would it. Funny the way the mind works.

There’s absolutely no justification whatsoever for calling it lucky. We won three games giving us more points than two of the teams in the group, one of which was ranked higher than us. Despite us putting them out of the competition this year, they’ll still be ranked higher than us next year and will get an easier passage into the CL or EL. I call that cheating but despite UEFA’s cheating, we’ve still progressed on merit. A lot of Celtic fans criticised the team for losing out on CL qualification to AEK Athens who they considered to be inferior opposition. I would expect those same Celtic fans to now acknowledge Celtic’s achievement in putting out Leipzig, a team who currently sit fourth in the Bundesliga.
{Ed007's Note - Our team right now would qualify for the CL League against AEK, I said on another thread that the prizes for a league are gave out at the end, we lost our final league game to Aberdeen last season but we were still 7 times champions.}

Who knows what our first choice CB pairing will be by then? Boyata could end up staying. Benkovic’s loan might get extended, we might sign someone, Broonie might move to CB. Compper might break his way into the team?
