Never again will I criticise Sinclair.
The character he showed to step up and take full responsibility when called upon made me one proud Celtic fan.
Its courage like that, helps you win championships. Well done Scotty.

For all the pelters the guy has been taking he is still chipping away with goals and to be fair, his form has dipped this season but it's not through lack of trying. It's a confidence thing.

2.) 23 Jan 2019 23:42:36
He has scored a lot of goals, even when not playing great.

3.) 24 Jan 2019 00:19:50
His performance was excellent tonight.

4.) 24 Jan 2019 00:49:58
Every players has good games and bad games but from day 1 Sinclair has each season, contributed a good goal and assist return each season.

His overall total for us is I think 137 app 52 goals which works out a better ratio of goals per game than Laudrup did for that mob yet the media seem to slate him whenever he has an off day.

5.) 24 Jan 2019 00:49:48
I'm not a fan but you can't argue with his stats. He had a great game tonight.

6.) 24 Jan 2019 02:13:46
His goal tonight was his 55th.

7.) 24 Jan 2019 12:04:37
Have been a critic of Sinclair myself however he was excellent against St Mirren and there has definately been an upturn in form over the last few games (with the exception of Sevco where they were nearly all useless)

Im sure everyone is willing him back to the form of a couple of years ago, a consistent in form Sinclair makes a huge difference to the team at the top end of the park.

8.) 24 Jan 2019 21:04:42
How's it going troops. I've got to say I find it hard to believe that a manager of Brendan Rodgers pedigree would allow transfers in which he has had no say. Would he have even taken the job if he was told he wouldn't be signing players? I doubt it.

9.) 25 Jan 2019 15:25:18
The media are finding it difficult to slag us off for poor signings in this transfer window cos 2 of them have banged in 2 goals each in their first 2 games and we’ve signed another one who’s goals to games ratio last season was better than Larsson’s. So what do they do?

They try and create a story out of a throw away comment by BR, claiming it shows he doesn’t know what’s going on and he’s not happy with the signings and as usual, half of us fall for it hook, line and sinker. It’s just Jabba trying to deflect from the fact that Sevco have signed a load of rubbish and they’ll be lucky to get third place this year.

Plenty of times we have played well and went out of Europe. Remember Partizan Belgrade 5-4 and went out on away goals. We beat Juventus 4-3 and ended up with 9 points and still went out, that same year Arsenal had 9 points and qualified.
Lady Luck was on our side last night because we did not play well, but that luck was long overdue.

Leon bhoy

1.) 14 Dec 2018 10:38:52
Liverpool went through with 9 points and oneils team had 9 and went out no rhyme nor reason.

2.) 14 Dec 2018 14:04:09
Worst Celtic performance I have seen in many a year, not one player got pass marks. Take the luck and move on, massive improvement required. We desperately need a new first choice striker. No squad players please gaffer.

3.) 14 Dec 2018 14:26:30
Dafabet c'mon worse display in years? Wee had our chances against good teams in Europe u only get 2 or 3 chances needto take them mate not the best I admit.

4.) 14 Dec 2018 14:42:04
Bigbhoy it was rank rotten, every Celtic player had an off night. Your man Eddy has the first first touch / hold up play I have seen.

5.) 14 Dec 2018 14:51:36
The fact is we won 3 out of 6 games so deserved to go through and Leipzig didny.

6.) 14 Dec 2018 15:31:00
Mally, I am happy to be through, but that was a terrible performance we put in again in Europe. The players Froze, end of.

7.) 14 Dec 2018 15:52:55
Was it that the team played their worst performance in many a year or Salzburg are a good team and didn't allow us to play (remember they were in the semifinal of Europa League last season) On top of that the day before the game it is announced that Griff is out indefinitely for personal reasons and then the boss is forced to use all his substitutes early as result of injuries, apart from Sinclair. Then the individual performances weren't grat its truebut if you consider that Ajer who had a short back pass and missed a sitter towards the end is only just back from a serious eye injury and possibly would not have played had Boyata been fit. Okwe lost our last game and still qualified whilst the team sitting fourth in the Bundelsliga couldn't win their last game and are out.

8.) 14 Dec 2018 16:04:06
First half was terrible. 2nd half was more even and we had the better chances. Final ball and control was poor. Rogic and Edouards worst game for us. We just need to cut out the schoolboy errors that's what costs us. We have to graft for goals and give ours away cheaply.

9.) 15 Dec 2018 00:23:06
To say it was the worst performance in years is way off the mark. I think too many people gauge our European performances against our domestic performances. They are completely different. The standard of opposition is different, the way the game is played is different. If you expect our players to hold on to the ball as well as they do in domestic competition, you don’t understand the difference in the level of the game. If you think they should win it back as easily as they normally do, you don’t understand it. If you think they will create as many chances as they normally do, you’re not getting it. It’s fair to say we’ve didn’t play well but to suggest it’s the worst performance in many a year sounds to me like Keith Jackson trying to get a reaction out of the Celtic fans.

10.) 15 Dec 2018 11:41:42
What is it with some fans. we were terrible on Thursday, let’s acceot it and move on. Can’t stand these fans that won’t have a bad word said about performances etc. Take the green tinted specs off.

11.) 15 Dec 2018 15:51:35
It’s nothing to do with green tinted specs, it’s about being realistic. I sat in CP and watched Celtic struggle against a really good side who also beat Leipzig home and away and who will probably be in the latter stages of the competition. BR commented in his book how Celtic fans expect to win every game. It’s ridiculous pressure to put on the players of any team. Fans need to recognise the level we’re at and what we can reasonably expect of the players.

12.) 15 Dec 2018 17:15:18
Coybig, they have a smaller spending budget than us and they played us off the park. I don’t think we should win every game, but we didn’t even compete. It was an awful performance and in my opinion the players bottled it!

13.) 15 Dec 2018 23:08:48
Ok, you think we could’ve/ should’ve done better while I thought we probably did ok against a team that are better than us. We could go on forever about this so let’s just agree to disagree.

I don't want Scotland to qualify for Euro 2020
After the Euros Celtic win be going for 10 in a row and half of our players won't get a break going into a long season if Scotland play at the European championships. sevco players can't get into any squads, so they will be fresh and ready to go.

Leon bhoy

1.) 20 Mar 2019 19:33:35
No need to worry they won't.

2.) 20 Mar 2019 21:17:59
Thank God our players selected don't think like you Leon, they all would love to represent their country at these tournament's and I for one will be loving it if they do, c'mon Scotland!

17 Mar 2019 00:52:04
Special mention to Packie Bonner who made his first Celtic start 40 years ago today. I always remembered because it landed on St. Patricks day.
Packie was a great servant for club and country and what a fantastic last signing from Jock Stein.
Celtic beat Motherwell 2-1 and then went on to win the league beating rangers 4-2 with 10 men.

I have a good feeling about Lenny being our next manager. He is a good fit and fate has brought him home.
The last time we lost the league in 2011 on the final game of the season, Lenny said something like this isn't the end, its only the beginning. I loved that battle cry speech in front of 60,000 who all stayed behind even though we had just lost the league.
Celtic fans showed that day how special we are and I believe we deserve all the success we are enjoying at the moment because we pride ourselves on winning within the rules.
I would love Neil Lennon to finish what he started and lead us to 10 in a row. GBNL.

1.) 13 Mar 2019 23:33:11
I get he is passionate about the club and all that but take the emotion out of it and ask yourself will he progress the team and the club? I don't think he will.

If he wasn't unemployed when Rodgers left how many fans would have wanted us to approach hibs at the end of the season to make him our permanent manager? My guess would be not a lot.

Lennon as manager just now is a convenience more than anything else. If Peter Lawell has any ambition then a short list should have been drawn up by now and interviews taking place now. there's no point waiting til the end of the season as it will disrupt the players ahead of the CL qualifying campaign.

2.) 13 Mar 2019 23:54:42
I'm hoping he doesn't stay, cheap option and a backwards step
I'm not sure who is being considered but Lennon is a good stop gap and nothing more
Too much baggage.

3.) 14 Mar 2019 09:25:21
There is too much at stake to start making drastic changes like a foreign coach who does not know the players or league. We know Lenny will make sure the players do their best for the cause for the next 2 years.
After the 10 is secured we can then start to drive the club in a new direction but as of now we all get behind our manager who I believe will deliver.

4.) 14 Mar 2019 09:51:44
Leon I says in another thread do wee risk another European manager who knows nothing about the club or do wee go with a man who knows the club inside out I am not Lennons biggest fan tbh but I think it’s to risky to go for a foreign manager. Do wee bunker down with Lenny for the ten? Or do wee risk another manager either way it needs sorted ASAP but knowing Celtic!

5.) 14 Mar 2019 10:02:09
Domestically Lennon wasn't up there with Rodgers but then look at how much money Rodgers had to spend compared to Lennon. In Europe under Rodgers we have gone backwards not forwards, Lennon beat Barcelona and qualified from the CL group stages. Under Rodgers we got destroyed by PSG home and away as well as getting thumped by Barca.

6.) 14 Mar 2019 10:49:58
Anyone remember Paul LeGuen?

When he signed for oldco Rangers, he was touted as one of the best coaches in Europe and was tipped to take Rangers to the next level. I am sure we all remember how that gamble turned out.

Therefore, while I agree that my preference would be to bring in a progressive coach, who can build on what previous managers have already built and hopefully take us to the next level. Sometimes I think it may be better sticking with a safe pair of hands until we get 10 in a row.

7.) 14 Mar 2019 11:46:24
I think if we got a foreign coach in like rose from Salzburg
We would just be a stepppng stone for him and would leave after 2-3 seasons, domestically I don’t think it matters who’s in charge as I think squad wise we are by far the strongest and should always stay like that. I like the idea of a foreign coach who could bring a new approach
But with Lennon we know what we’ve got, plus now he’s been away will he be so keen to move on again, it’s a tough choice and there’s pros and cons. For me keep Lennon, no matter what happens because we’ve won a double double maybe a treble treble it’s going to be hard for any manager taking over eventually we won’t win everything and that will be considered by some a bad season.

8.) 14 Mar 2019 11:55:41
I think we should bring in a new manager at the end of this season but sign him up now so he can see what we have got and what we need. And let NL carry on as manager until then. 2 years is a long time to take steps back and try to regain and progress.

9.) 14 Mar 2019 12:47:44
Employing a new manager is the riskiest responsibility any board has to make .
Trying to sign the best available is even a bigger risk . Someone like Rose could be one of the best decisions Celtic could make . However there are massive risks, not only may Rose use us as a stepping stone to EPL and leave us after a year or two, after 2 yrs wouldn't be a disaster 10 in a row would be attained, but after 1 yr doesn't bear thinking about . But Rose and all his brilliance on the European Continent may struggle in the very odd environment that exists in Scotland . We have things going on in and around football that is unique to Scotland and he may not be able to put a handle on it . Going for 9 in a row is not a time to gamble . I hope board thinks long and hard and comes up with right man.

10.) 14 Mar 2019 14:32:33
Many truly great appointments and signings come down to perfect timing ie: the right man - available at the right time and everything else seems to slot into place very quickly; then success follows on and and the lucky few go on to make history.
This has only happened a very few of times in my lifetime and it is very difficult to align these factors all of the time.
All we hope is the club agree on the best possible candidate as quickly as possible and we all get behind him to further success.

11.) 14 Mar 2019 17:19:15
Paul Le Quen looked great on the continent before he went to Rangers, but he couldn't handle wee Barry's petulance, Ronnie was the new Messiah but he couldn't manage the dressing room, this guy Rose may have found his proper groove and that is why he is making a deep mark at Salzburg, how does any one know he will be a success here, Lennon knows the lay of the land, he is more experienced now and more mature, he might be the best man for the job.

12 Mar 2019 14:01:56
At Dundee on Sunday beaton will be the 4th official. The same happened to collum, when he was the 4th official also against Dundee last week.
I hope beaton gets dogs abuse and where was our phone call after his blatant disaster of a performance. Then again in his eyes he done nothing wrong and would gladly do it all over again.

Leon bhoy

1.) 12 Mar 2019 16:28:40
Cheatin Beaton has been very conspicuous by his 'forced' absence from Celtic games for a while now. Funny if he was 'warming-up' for the game on the thirty first? Then he would soon see what he did wrong.

2.) 12 Mar 2019 17:48:58
Since that mob accused WC of having underlying issues he's never been involved in any game.

3.) 13 Mar 2019 02:27:22
Stop worrying bhoys if we do our business right on the park officials won’t matter.

4.) 14 Mar 2019 13:11:45
I hate that type of comment, to me it implies that Scottish referees are entitled to treat us like dirt and that they can cheat us as and when they want to .
I think we deserve honest decent impartial refereeing .

The players deserve praise for cruising the league considering the terrible injurys we have had this season.
Our fullbacks have been out at the same time, we have had personal and injuries to the centre halves, we have played without a recongnised striker and now we are missing our influencial midfielders.
Celtic we ripping teams apart with McGregor, Rogic and Christie in the midfield and now we are entering a crucial part of the season with all 3 injured at the same time.
Although it is a concern, I am sure we still have enough in reserve to carry on our great run of domestic victories.

Leon bhoy

1.) 27 Feb 2019 09:30:03
Never known and injury list - and length of injury absence, ever before like this at Celtic and now we add a very successful manager jumping-ship in February to complicate the season even more.
Two huge games on the horizon, so no time to sulk or panic; just play the way we can, show the opposition why we are Champions and progress to one of our greatest seasons ever.

In the past I was a Hendry fan because I felt he looked comfortable on the ball and central defenders improve by age and experience.
Now I believe that Hendry can't do basic defending.
Against partick thistle in the cup he ran beside the goalscorer without as much as a challenge. He then found himself out of the squad for the next 5 games and then 1 game after that he was an unused sub. In those 6 matches Celtic conceded only 1 goal which was away from home in europe.
At that time Celtic looked quite comfortable at the back, then comes the killie away game where Brendan made a few changes.
Hendry comes in from the wilderness and in my opinion caused the 2 goals we conceded because he can't do basic defending.
When burke scored the equaliser hendry refused to try and close him down and gave him a free pop at goal and then the winner he lost the goalscorer he was marking at a corner.
As I said before I could see potential because he is good on the ball but the boy can't defend and you can't teach those basic defending skills like tackle, close down your opponent and don't easily lose your man at a set piece.
From that day I knew Hendry was not going to make it at Celtic which is unfortunate.

I would like to have seen Sinclair and Johnston switch wings.
Johnston is more effective on the left and I think Sinclair would finish more chances on the right, he would be able to hit more first time shots, instead of trying to get it on his right foot.
Still another great game from Sinclair.
Between Sinclair and Ajer for my man of the match.

Ntcham is too inconsistant to be a top drawer player. Take what we can get for him now and move on.
He looks good when he has plenty of time on the ball, but away from home when he gets closed down quicker or playing against good opponents, he struggles to play a first time ball accurately. Most plays stop with him giving the ball away needlessly.
I also feel that sometimes he is not up for the fight and he can put more effort in.

After what happened with the old rangers and other clubs that died, you would have thought financial fair play regulations would be in place in Scotland.
Uefa have FFP in place when qualifying for their competitions, all the top leagues in Europe have it in their domestic leagues, yet Scotland don't have it.
Doncaster mentioned back in 2012 that something would be put in place, to help clubs stay within FFP rules, yet it never materialised.
I believe the Scottish leagues will eventually draw something up, so that teams don't spend what they can't afford but only after May 2021 when they will find out if sevco have managed to stop 10 in a row.

The incident happened in 1977 and Celtic beat Dundee utd 3-0 in 1974 and Airdrie 3-1 in 1975.
All I was told about George was that he kept himself to himself and was a natural gifted footballer who could play defence or midfield.
He won player of the year before he retired at an early age due to personal problems and he also didn't like all the limelight.
The best clip I have seen of George was when he took the ball of greigs toe and slotted it into the net in a 4-0 scottish cup final victory in 1969.

My dad told me Celtic were chasing an equaliser against Ayr Utd when Johnny crossed the ball which struck the ref and knocked him over. The referee got up and sent the Celtic player off. who ran off in disgust.
Celtic and Johnny Doyle who was playing against his old club, I am told lost the game 2-1.
Celtic appealed the crazy red card but the sfa refused to overturn the suspension.
