We had a poor game yesterday by our own standards but at least we did not lose.

Of course it's too early to panic, burn the scarf or rip up the season book; however, there is a need for some attention.
'Word is out' about the fragility of Ajer and Jullien against big target-men and strikers; Hamilton won plenty in the air last weekend and even though Kilmarnock were extremely defensive, their goal came from a very rare attack, where Jullien was rolled like a Havana cigar and gave away a daft PK.
Broony was treading water for an hour, Big Eddy was smothered and NL delayed any alterations until his mandatory 64 minutes.
OK the team never played well - even after taking an early lead, but even after the late substitutions, there was not enough real quality to lift the tempo and vary the play against a packed defense, that we will come up against many times this season.
If we prefer 3-5-2 - and it proved successful last season, or we have to switch, we need to have the quality in key positions to overcome stuffy, but mediocre opponents and before I forget - offload any passengers that can't play on specific surfaces.
