In the starting lineups to the Europa League final, that's on at the minute, there is only one English man, is there no limit to how many foreigners you can have in your team now?, if Brexit goes ahead, and we changed back to a maximum of three foreigners, would this be good for bringing on home grown talent, foreigners being defined as someone who made his professional debut any time after the age of eighteen in a different national League.

Ed Did the Arsenal and Chelsea Brexiteers hand back theirs 6000 ticket allocation? Was it too far? I heard some thought it was too scary wary woo to travel alone?

{Ed007's Note - I read there aren't any direct flights from London to Baku so it was nightmare to travel to.}

Should it really matter where you were born to decide if you can get a game of football.

{Ed007's Note - Apart from the usual work permit restrictions there shouldn't be. UEFA are totally out of order letting what's happened with Mkhitaryan happen, it's disgusting and I've seen the police are stopping people with his name on their shirt.}

Good to see UEFA are selecting venues that are most suitable for supporters rather than ones who give them the biggest backhanders.

You can get a game of football any where, where you are born doesn't matter, but what we have now, like in the Europa League tonight, the richest clubs, rich because they are backed by money stolen from the poorest workers of the owners countries paying obscene wages to attract the best players much like fly's are attracted to rubbish.

Spot on Aindoh, the game today absolutely stinks of corruption and entitlement. I overheard an Arsenal fan in the pub complaining that their club is a shambles and they are unwilling to spend the money to develop. Sound familiar? 🤔.

Like many, I agree it was a stupid decision to host the final in Baku for all the reasons stated (I worked there for a wee while on the rigs and it is a real pain)
However, I did not see too many journalists or officials go full throttle about how bad it was when the venue was first announced.
THEN - 2 English teams reach the final and all of a sudden it's a hellish venue and the disruption for fans travelling etc. etc.
Next year the venue is Gdansk in Poland hmmmm.

I don't recall seeing too many complaints on behalf of teams drawn against Azerbaijan teams in the CKL or the EL.
I also get annoyed at managers etc. who bitch about the fixtures list when their team has a successful cup run etc.
They know when most of the games will be played as there are commercial agreements in place etc. and the fixtures are, for the most part, already set-out.
Don't hear managers moaning at the start of the season about maybe having to play a scheduled cup quarter final 3 days before a scheduled league game if they qualify.

I think that managers use the fixture list to cover up their own failings.
Before Christmas when Celtic were playing nearly every midweek, we arguably played better football than we did after Christmas when we had very few midweek matches. Some of the football we played in the second half of the season was dire yet we had more opportunity to rest and work in training.
They used to say that players preferred playing matches than training, maybe in our case there is some truth in that.

Ed, I thought it was his decision not to play because he is an ethnic Armenian, and the Azeberjanians, kicked out the armeniams in 1990,and he feared for his safety, the Sunni Turks get upset if the Armenian genocide is mentioned, and the Shiite Azers seem to dislike the Christian Armeniams just as much.

{Ed007's Note - Arsenal and Mkhitaryan decided not to risk his life.}

It's a fair sad state of affairs when a guy can not play a European final for fear of his life is at risk. And supporters stopped by police who have his name on there shirts. Who in God's name picks these places to play a final. Bunch of Muppets in UEFA.

As Baku, is outwith the EU, I think you will find it was the London remainers, who didn't want to spend their filthy lucre outside their closed shop of capitalist bankers and champagne socialists and brainwashed Mohamedans, as the point of Brexit is it allows you to trade with and embrace the rest of the world,

What makes it more annoying is EUFA are constantly promoting no to RACISM. oldkilly.
