What has happened to that pustular organ of RFC, rangersmedia.co.uk. I miss the balanced, non-sectarian reporting for which it is famed.

the arrogance of rangers and some of their fans astounds me.i keep hearing them admit that they have done wrong and that they should be punished but anytime a possible punishment is mentioned they argue its unfair. how is a transfer ban on a team who has failed to pay for players unjust. how can a team that has failed to pay its taxes expect that if they go bust that they can just walk back into the league if they go bust.it beggars belief.the affect that their demise would have on thbe spl would not be as much as they seem to think..in fact we wouldnt miss them. go to division 3 and earn your right to play in the league and for once in your 140 year existence do the morally correct thing

Do Celtic fans not remember their history ?? Tax evasion in the 60s , 70s and the 80s !!! Attacking refs and opposition players !! Death threats !! Attacking Rangers player cars !! Did Lawell and Lennon not come out and hammer the GB earlier this season ?? YES Rangers have scum among their fans but so do Celtic ! A large percentage of Celtic fans and Rangers are good honest people , both sets of fans have the small minded bigoted neds/thugs YOU WILL MISS US WHEN WE RE GONE ?! {Ed007's Note - Could you post a link to anything that has been reported to CFC facing any prosecution or legal action for tax evasion please.? And as for the rest of your post, two wrongs don't make a right. Because CFC fans do something doesn't mean Rangers fans have to do it (or worse) as well, or vice vice versa.}

just a wee scenario here,if they die and Scottish football died because of it would Celtic go into one of the English leagues, personally would hate this to happen as Celtic and rankers if they survive are scottish teams and should play in scotland it`s not that we or i lack ambition it`s just we`re scottish teams and to move down there some ppl think we will be better off money wise but i don`t really think this as we would be out more money on wages and supporters out more money with travelling and other things. just seems to me the ones that want this are only thinking about monies coming in and not the higher amounts going out?kb-bhoy

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I think you are being overly pessimistic. There may be financial implications for Scottish football if Rangers were to fold but the SPL would continue albeit the member clubs including Celtic would have to cut their cloth accordingly. There is almost no chance of Celtic playing in any of the English leagues unless UEFA have a massive change of policy, which is extremely unilikely. Liah Smit

Agree4 Disagree0

I would like them to stay as well but think of how spl is viewed as a low league. our name would be tarnished by people not giving us any credit which will damage our name and how we are viewed, leaving us to prove ourselves in CL. i know we dont like to think of that but i feel in time we will suffer just as bad because of the league(i do think the spl is coming up but money talks and players will leave, i sucks that dundee will lose there top players before europe), this may be the best time to leave and play against some top teams which we will have alot more respect and hence bring Celtic and grow Celtic to an even bigger club then we are.
i would hate to see spl fold or wtv because i like watching it and i wake up at 6am just to watch every week

On seeing Jim Ballantyne (Chaiman of Airdrie Utd and prominent SFL board member) sitting in the stand at Windsor Park clearly supporting Rangers in their "Charity Match" v Linfield , i was wondering and thinking why ? here are some of my thoughts ... Maybe he plans to take over Rangers after they are liquidated and merge them with Airdrie Utd in the 2nd division , OR Maybe he plans to use them to fst track Airdrie Utd into the SPL through aquiring Rangers' share , OR Maybe its a "Cunning Plan" to get even with David Murray for forcing Airdrieonians FC into liquidation , OR maybe he is just another Chick Young ! That is if you have a conclusive argument,or have formed an opinion based on a wealth of knowledge,or experience. Generalising about anything in life is usually a dangerous path to choose,you could potentially get lost,and look a trifle foolish.

Morning Ed. There can be no doubt that fair minded people, football related or not, will want to see Rangers punished for non payment of taxes and other debts. It is not unreasonable to expect the custodians of our game, SPL, SFA etc to sanction Rangers for any wrong doing. However I do think that people need to be pragmatic over the whole affair. Like it or not Rangers are box office. Ask any publican or taxi driver or take away shop how much their takings improve when Rangers are in town or on the TV, especially Old Firm games. My local is shoulder to shoulder when we play them, maybe a couple of weeks takings for a landlord in one day. It is guys like these who will feel the consequences as much as the football clubs themselves. The SPL etc as custodians as well as rule enforcers have a duty to protect the interests of all clubs, including Rangers. But the most worrying aspect for me is this. Should Rangers not be in the SPL Celtic will be subject to the 11-1 majority rule for change within the SPL. That potentially means the other 11 clubs will have control over Celtic. Say Aberdeen propose a 50/50 split on all gate receipts and equal dibursement of media revenue. Celtic oppose it but the other 10 clubs agree. We are snookered and will lose vast income streams to other clubs. So like it or not people do need Rangers in many ways, from the wee takeaway vans to a voting ally. I think that we as well as Rangers could be in a lose/lose situation.

Hi ed. Just heard about Miller. I read a few days ago that Celtic Fans were contacting his local radio station about Rangers proud history towards Anti Irish Catholics. The Irish American community wouldn't take to kindly to the famine song. I think it's hillarious. The daily rag had his whole plans for rangers made out for him. I wonder did he get his 500,000 back or did they spend it travelling to Linfield.... It just gets better and better. Bigirishmac {Ed007's Note - It's actually not clear if he paid the £500k BIM.}

This guy always seemed a bit of a chancer and i think it would've always ended in tears. Also there was a fair bit of negative media coverage in the US at the weekend abour Rangers history, signing policy and club ethos. Stuff like this does not go down well in the states.

Then again it's probably all Neil Lennon's fault eh?
