Over the course of the season I have heard various players described as Celtic legends. During this period names like McAvennie, Big Pierre, Cadette and Di Canio have been put in this group. Not for me.

Our club is a special one, founded in unique circumstances, and some very special people have worn our shirt. I have been watching Celtic since I was eight, that's from 1967. During that time there have been very few of what I would class as legends.

to be classed as a legend at a club like Celtic requires special players, doing special things over a long period of time. It requires an ability to understand what we are about, how this club affects the lives of us all. You need to fill our shirt, as the truly legendary Jock Stein said 'it does not shrink to fit'. With that in mind, and excluding the Lions who all qualify, here are my picks to be classed as legends during my time.

Tam Burns; Nothing to say. He was and will remain the benchmark of being a true Celtic Legend. A fan from birth, a player and a manager, Tam loved Celtic and we loved him.

Paul McStay; From a Celtic dynasty, 'the Maestro' knew what was required. Could have left more than once but stayed and played, in a few bad teams it must be said, because of a love of Celtic.

Henrik Larsson; What can you say about him? He just got better season after season. Another player who realised what he had at Celtic was a special thing, and again got what we are about. A real team player, his chip in the 6-2 game would get him in!

Lubo; Never had the longevity I was talking about, but as he was 33 when he came I had to have him. So many special moments from a supremely talented player. From him humiliating Klos at the dust bowl, to giving Pavel Nedved a lesson at Celtic Park, if we only had him at 25! Remember him controlling a ball dropping out the sky with his Ass! Quality.

Danny McGrain; For two or three years rated by everyone, Beckenbaur etc, as the worlds best full back. A truly magnificent full back, going forward or defending, and as hard as nails into the bargain. The fact he is still there is testimony to his love of Celtic.

There are lots of special mentions as well. Dalgleish, who I loved, blotted his history with his later antics, and who has us second behind Liverpool in his affection, was a fantastic player but we never got the best of him. Jackie McNamarra as well, solid and steady and will always be remembered. Boruc, Naka and more.

Over to you Bhoys and Ghirls. Are my standards to high? I look forward to your views. No doubt I will think of another player as soon as I post this! Cheers. green jhedi

Dundee Unites confirm Johnny Russell to have medical on Monday after personal terms have been agreed with Derby County. Another top young player Celtic have lost out on cause of there pure and utter greediness in the transfer market. The way they treat the fans sometimes is disgusting!

I see the new Chairman / Ticket Vendor has finally been outed as receiving an £80,000 EBT in 2002 payable back in 2012. Also another story that's all over the news is that Chuckles has sold 714, 285 shares to Laxey Partners Limited. They are a company who purchase a small stake and use their position to call for the removal of board members. Asset strippers?. Why put it on website but not put it on their news report. The unwashed are talking about signing a highly rated boy from santos in brazil, I do not understand where they get these ideas from why can't they get in their head that the only players they're going to able to attract are flops who want a nice wee payday, posted before that Humphrey turned them down to sign for Preston north end, that's when you know they've no hope. Give it another 6-8 months before the there's an administrator running the rifc. Gandalf the green

Why is everything offshore tax free when it comes to RFC and the regurgitated TRFC? From Channel Islands EBTs to Caymans/ Bahamas Liberty Capital of Whyte whatever. Now the press are saying Greengo is hiving off a chunk of shares to a fund in the tax free offshore Isle of Man. Will the SFA do their due dilligence checks and find the people behind this curtain are fit and proper to own TRFC and not banned from football like Whyte?

trifc claim to have a history, and are accepted in europe, uefa don't recognize them, uefa won't let them play in european competitions. they are a non team. until they produce three years audited accounts. so, given that they missed the april deadline. it will be at least three years from april 2014. 2017 before they can play in europe again.
sevonians always spout '' integrity '' I say we spout credibility , because without audited accounts, there is no ''credibility''

so the next time any of them come on here fishing.
the likes of p. o. b { misguided and delusional ostrich } or the bile spewing, bigoted, hate filled LES. just answer.

no accounts, no credibility, non team. shammy

I don't comment on the deluded ones often and very rarely read the posts that mention them.

One thing that has made me smile though is this whole reconstruction has been to help the grateful dead but now its bit them in the ass as reconstruction means they can't play the 6 (seems like 600 the way the press are going on) players they have signed until September 1st.

That is of course if they still have them in september when they realise they can't afford to pay them.

Anyway back to real business, reading Lenny's comments in Dublin there was no mention of Tonev so that looks dead, I think we will sign Dunne, Doyle and Balde. Unfortunately I think the Russel one won't happen my reasoning behind this is normally when the hoops say we are monitoring the situation the player signs for someone before we act. I am not sure if Doyle and Dunne are the answer to what we need but if they sign as always we will be behind them and hope they do the business.

I personally hope we sign a good back up to FF and a LB.

Hi Ed. Was hoping somebody might be able to point me in the right directions for tickets to the Brentford match? I'm based in London but can't find anything on our website or theirs. Great site btw - on it every day.
