Hi all, disappointed the winning run came to an end but big players given much needed rest for a big big month. Aims: into next round of cup, win league cup and the get over the line of the league, then ill worry about what impact THEY will have on the Spl..
I've a question though ed, if they found investment in the next month or so as they are seeking, enough to leave administration, THEN the big tax case finds them guilty, surely they are back to square one if not bust?or who would invest knowing the case result is looming..sorry just looking for more clarity.
Anyway our unbeaten run continues and let's get the bhoys over the line with the 3 trophies Hail Hail JCGE! {Ed007's Note - Nobody will invest until the outcome of the 'big' case is known, even before then, the debt they would need to clear before they even start looking at improving is far too big to make any sense to do so.}

No worries Real KB mate, I was the same yesterday but it could be worse we could be Rangers! Ed stop kicking him while he's down lol. Popped over to the Rangers site an Ed 001 was on fire. Nice to see the majority of Rangers fans paying respect to Paul Mcbride and talking of there disgust of the others, all true football fans have to stick together on this one. What's the lad Matthews like Ed mate seen we have had an intrest or at least scouted him but can't say I've seen much of him. Don't we play you in a friendly in Boston this summer Ed mate, expect some stick when we beat you ;-)
JFT96
Smithy {Ed007's Note - LFC are watching loads of RBs Smithy, Matthews is only one of them, he is a great prospect and could be a fine player. If you can find £10-12 million you can get Matthews :-)

Wishart told him 5 times UEFA changed the laws a few years back and now no one can play in a league outwith where there home games are played ..i e home ground at Glasgow you play in scottish league home ground at Paris you play in the French league and so on ... if you want to go listen to it you can on there snide 1 webpage it will finally put an end to playing in EPL from Glasgow

We should of know the writing was on the wall when AVB said this about Mc Coist. The Portuguese boss did his own coaching course at Largs alongside McCoist and said that he had already been impressed with how the Rangers manager had settled in to the top job.

Rangers have recently conceded top spot in the SPL but Villas-Boas said that McCoist would not stop working to regain pole position and would be a success. Lol. Yeah rite. I cant believe Mc Coist going round feeling sorry for himself saying it's a tough time on him and getting by by the support of his family bla bla bla. What about Lenny last year when he was getting the abuse. What did he do but have a bust up on the line at the end of a old firm game. Grow a pair Ally your live wasn't threaten. Yeah wouldn't know the meaning of pressure or stress. Bigirishmac

Real KB mate I completly agree, I was at both matches and there fans were disgusting I made the point on there site. I was just saying we should all rise above the idiots. I'm not sure what you thought I was saying mate, ask Ed I've been on the United site camaigning for all that s**t to end. TBH though mate I was at the FA cup game at OT last season and quite a few LFC "fans" were singing those disgusting chants, I think both Clubs should ban any fan caught for life and stamp it out, its all sickening and gives us true football fans a bad name. Hopefully us LFC fans have turned a corner as not one of those songs got going at either game which was good to see however it still is a real problem with United fans I agree, but like I said don't let them get to you mate.

Kb I'm fine mate. Just ignore the sick people who want to post vile. They do it to get a reaction mate, don't give them one they aren't worth it. All fanbases have "fans" eho do things just to cause trouble. I've been away with LFC enough times to see some of the most disgusting fans in England try to spit and chuck bottles, etc and mention Hillsborough while giving it the big un behind a steward. We all have disgusting fans, I've seen LFC fans sing horrid songs, like some Celtic fans do. Keep your heads up lads and don't let it get to you.

Smithy,
Posting stuff on the internet is one thing. Bad enough, yes.
But fans chanting that vile abuse, en masse, at matches should not happen these days with the grounds all cctv'd up.
They could pull them Spurs fans a couple of years ago at Portsmouth for giving Sol Campbell stick, so why can't it be done more ?
I never heard a statement from Man Utd about their lot at Anfield as well.
I'm all for banter and that, but mass chanting about people dying ?
C'mon.

cant believe that there are so many sick people out there who are disagreeing with the condolences being left on the celtic rumours/banter pages regarding the late paul mcbride, these people are the lowest of the low society has no place for them and the sooner there club that they follow is wiped from society the better, what has that man ever done to any of them absolutely nothing except defend neil lennon and represent celtic fc yet he is sent parcel bombs and now in his sad passing he is being abused by these sad vile cretins.

Intresting stuff Ed mate, never realised that you were that high. Do you know if Celtic or Rangers have ever asked to join the English League or at least enquired about it?
RIP Paul Mcbride, don't know much about him TBH but by the sounds of it he was a great bloke, ignore the idiots online, they do it to all tragidies.
JFT96
Smithy {Ed007's Note - In 2009 Bolton chairman Phil Gartside put a proposal forward to split the EPL into a two tier system of between 36-40 teams with CFC and Rangers joining the lower tier. The proposal was rejected and at the time, EPL Chief Executive Richard Scudamore said

"As regards to Celtic and Rangers it's a non-starter," he said. "So we've made a clear and unequivocal statement and we're going to move on from there. No means no.
"The clubs constitutionally voted to say we're not going to take this any further, Celtic and Rangers are not coming in."

If there was ever one striker I'd have loved to see in the hoops, it would have been Gianluca Vialli.

Just had a a mate call to tell me Paul McBride has sadly passed away.As a rangers fan he was disgusted by some of the vile postings on rangers forums etc.You know it's getting very difficult to have any sympathy for them,i have seen two messages and they truly are disgusting.Even my pal,a season ticket holder for over thirty years,thinks they should be liquidated to try and rid themselves of their sectarian hatred of catholics and irish people.Make no mistake,this is no small minority,this is a huge percentage of their support.Since the announcement of sackings i have been very respectfull of their feelings,having been through it myself i know how it hurts,but now maybie it's time they vanished.My friends and family who are rangers fans are decent people,as are a lot of guys on these sites, but im afraid you are being dragged down to an unacceptable level.honestly,if theres no respect for a young man dying theres no hope for you............green jhedi {Ed007's Note - I've seen them GJ. Rise above it mate, it just shows how some people's minds work.}

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Seen them to and rotten to the core are the people who post such bile.Paul McBride QC was a high profile Celtic fan with not one ounce of bitterness in his body.he also worked for and repesented a lot of rangers players either in court or with any contractual disputes ,total gentelman to the very end sadly taken at a young age god bless Paul McBride RIP

Thanks for the answer Ed mate. Do you think it will get worse and worse then? I'd rather Celtic and Rangers in the Prem anyday over Wigan and Bolton neither sold out and there fans were crap. I'd much rather come down to Glasgow, even if they are further away. If the talk of the "Super League" being formend are true what do you think would happen to Celtic?
JFT96
Smithy {Ed007's Note - I think if there was a breakaway Super League then I think CFC (and again this is all just speculation, so include Rangers) would be invited for the sheer size of the club(s), fanbase, marketing and earning potential. CFC are the 10th highest earners in Europe for matchday revenue Smithy with £43.4 million (per season), only 3 places and £9 million behind your team, Man City are 18th and £13 million behind CFC to give you an idea of it.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Awrite smithy how you keeping mate but this ones to ed007 why would any breakaway or super league want that scum in their league.they are vile, disrespectful,hatefull,twisted and only care about themselfs.all the lets hold off the rankers baiting is over after the bad news of MR.PAUL MCBRIDE can`t believe some of their rants on other sites,vile disgusting ppl they belong in the scottish 3rd division and lets see how THEY get on,f***in deserve everthing they get.no sympathy at all anymore, PAUL GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.R.I.P,kb-bhoy {Ed007's Note - People like that are not exclusive to Rangers mate. Every club all over Europe has a fans like that from Glasgow to Milan and every city in between. And we were talking about a hypothetical situation, your post really has no bearing on the thread, there are fans in England, Italy, Turkey and other places that would make the biggest headcases from CFC and Rangers look like boy scouts in comparison.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, including your beloved Man Utd ed007. I'm f finished with that lot, after their chanting at Anfield and O.T.
I know it's gone both ways in the past, but that sickened me.
The Real KB {Ed007's Note - I am not denying it mate, if I did I would be a liar, but some LFC (and others) fans give it large over Munich on the Utd site as well. Like I said all clubs have that element, I am not condoning it and two wrongs don't make a right. No place for any of it in football in this day and age, look at Turkey? How they get away with what they do astounds me, and Italy's racist problem has never went away either.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi there ed sorry about the rant(was out last night was a late one not long up)i know it was hypothetical mate, but just heard the bad news about paul mcbride and thinking of all that crap from last season you know what i mean and know there are plenty more teams with great rivalry out there.but i know you can`t tar all the rangers supporters with the same brush they`re not all bad.apologies for being off topic and no bearing to this thread.just thinking normally now and at times like this just to put things into prospective.apologies again to you and smithy,kb-bhoy {Ed007's Note - No worries buddy.}

Ed,what do you make of AVB getting sacked?I feel sorry for him,i liked him and thought he was up against it all season.Why pay £14m for him then not give him a chance?Thought some of the players were against him this season.There was one game when a Chelsea player scored and then they all ran to AVB to celebrate except Terry,Lampard + Cole who stood in their own wee clique talking.I think these players are the cause of the sacking.
Too Much Money + Too Little Braincells!

Jungle Bhoy. {Ed007's Note - Replacing Ancelotti with AVB cost nearer £30 million JB. Although there is that clique, it was a results driven decision. After the Everton game it was agreed that someone independent of the coaching staff would take a look at the coaching methods. The result was a concern that the team was too one dimensional, too predictable. Mr Abramovich has some top footballing advisors that he trusts without question on these matters.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I was in london a couple of years ago and saw this gang of three first hand.The way they treated the staff in the restaurant was disgracefull.Loud,boorish neds with too much money.Ordering wine at £100-£200 a bottle and swilling it like wino's.it was a game to them...........green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree0

Also (don't really follow EPL as much as the SPL) but talking to a guy in the gym who a arsenal fan & he said whoever finishes 4th gets £40m to spend & whoever finishes 5th gets 10m to spend because of the FairPlay rule. So if Chelsea finish 5th then don't see them being happy at spending £10m in a transfer window ? Think he never got the chance either lampard & terry (to name a few) are getting by it in there 30s? Also heard years ago that lampard & terry were the highest payed players at Chelsea & if anyone else was signed who was on more them then got the same wage because of a clause in there contracts ? Anyway who will replace him ? Josey

Lenny {Ed007's Note - He has already said he will be leaving Madrid at the end of the season.}

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO 5th place for any side in the EPL at this stage of the season isn't bad going. But given the results in every competition of late, and the nature of them, he had to go. The club are only going to slip further down the table with him in charge.

Having said that I think the Chelsea board and owners are a disgrace. For one, really don't understand the sacking of Ancelotti or even the Brazilian guy they had in before. Second, I don't know why they gave Villas Boas the job in the first place. They need an experienced head to guide the team and spot potential in young players that can replace key players in their aging squad. I'm talking the likes of Hiddink, Advocaat, Smith, Benitez, etc...I'd say preferably a British guy as it could change direction and atmosphere at Chelsea, but at the very least foreigner with good EPL experience who knows the game down there.

On a lighter note, I hope they keep their cute goddess of a physio...watching games Chelsea are involved in on TV won't be the same without her! :( {Ed007's Note - Eva Carneiro is the club doctor, she has been there for years and will stay. I have been pestering Ed002 for an introduction but so far she is not for setting it up :-(

Hi Ed mate, just wanted your opinion on the state of Scottish football and the Scottish League, do you think it will ever improve? Also if Celtic were offered a place in the Championship would you take it?
JFT96
Smithy {Ed007's Note - Scottish football has reached it's lowest point in years Smithy no two ways about it. I would prefer the whole of Scottish football to be successful (with CFC top of the pile of course) but the TV money going into English teams means that won't happen any time soon. I wouldn't be overjoyed at moving to the Championship but purely for the money side of things I would take it. If CFC (and Rangers, ignoring their current plight) could get the TV money on offer down there, manage to get into the EPL after about 3-5 years they would be up challenging the top 4. I can't ever seeing it happen though TBH mate.}

It wouldn't be the case that Mr McCoist also benefitted from the dodgy contracts available at Ibrox at the time , would it ? If so, you would expect a man of dignity and moral standing to dip into his considerable personal cash reserves and pay HMRC any outstanding monies and show others,who may similarly benefitted, by example how to behave in an honest and dignified manner.
