Hey all, just an open question regarding fixtures. The AFL down here in Oz have just released theirs for 2014, and it includes some Sunday night games. This means we will have Football on TV basically all weekend which is great. I noticed that on the 6th of December that Celtic travel to Motherwell for a Friday night match, and was wondering how many of the travelling support thought this was a good idea? I have been given the feeling that it's not really liked and the traditional 3pm KO on Saturdays is heavily supported. All I know is that we've had Friday night footy here my whole life and we even occasionally get Thursday night footy, usually kept for a marquee game attracting around 80,000. Do you think that Friday nights could catch on in Scotland given they are on when it's not freezing cold and close to home?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I like the 3pm Saturday kick off but TV rules now!

I think this is the first Celtic have been involved in a Friday night KO so I'll see how it goes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mrs E . I'm sure we've played at Ibrox twice on a Friday night . Once against Oldco in Glasgow cup final and against Hibs in cup semi final . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh you have a better memory than me DH. I would have to look that up lol

I can barely remember the Glasgow Cup with Senior Clubs playing, I know its a youth tournament now.

I'm just stuck in my ways and like a 3pm Saturday KO but I know we need to move with the times and broadcasting has a massive say now.

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember going to ibrox think it was late seventies when we beat st mirren 2-0 in a league match on a friday evening.jimbhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

How come we were playing at Ibrox Jim, was it to do with St Mirren?

Did we not play killie in the scottish cup at hampden the year that was our home ground on a friday night pretty sure we won 1 0 brian mcloughlin scored and as far as I mind was there not a floodlight failure during the game for about 20 nmins

Sally really embarrasses himself, complaining on national Telly that Hibs and Celtic have their grounds selected for cup finals. Did Jabba tell him to get on screen but get a youthful face chemical peel first?
Does SEVCO TV not have better things to report than this tomato's sole opinion?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He and his cohort have discovered that this pretended victimisationism pays. He's milking the cow.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fat sneaky saying that he would have preferred tynecastle and would rather see money going to help hearts yet his old club never paid hearts in full he really is a slug

Agree0 Disagree0

The guys a walloper and I've come to just expect nothing less from Ally.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anything to hog the back pages any publicity at any cost straight out the charles green playbook

Hearts like old RFC bought their results with immense debt for over a decade and are now walking away from that repayment committment to tens of millions just like old RFC. Why isn't the footballing records being scratched as they haven't paid for that success? {Ed007's Note - There is no comparison whatsoever between Hearts and Rangers (apart from the Neanderthal level of the majority of supporters). Many clubs have entered administration and came out of it at the other side, Motherwell and Livingston are prime examples. whereas other clubs that never managed to exit administration, like Gretna or Rangers, went on to be liquidated and don't exist in their original form any longer.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed the comparison is that both of them spent millions they didn't have and went bust not paying back the debt.

Hearts are far from out the woods and it could be liquidation for them also.

Their administrator says they are 4/11 towards achieving a CVA only. They owe £25m and £20m = £45m. {Ed007's Note - If you can't understand it, I really can't be arsed explaining it all. Try using Google to read up the difference between administration/liquidation. }

Agree0 Disagree0

One is dead and one is almost dead. Nice and easy for you right there.

Mrs E, I hope Hibs have taken out extra insurance for all the "accidental" damage caused by the newco's fans. lol Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed u appear to think Hearts have had a successful Administration. That is not the case. They could nosedive from Administration into full Liquidation any day. They owe £45m to two Lithuanian entities (both gone bust but their creditors will own their assets including Hearts and Tynecastle). The Hearts Administrator BDO have stated they are only four elevenths of the way to exiting Administration via a CVA. {Ed007's Note - Where have I said that Hearts have had a successful administration? This started off with you wanting a club in administration stripped of it's history and records. The whole idea is stupid beyond words.
So instead of guessing at what I am thinking why not just read what I actually say, if you can't read and comprehend things, that's hardly my fault is it?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lord Sugar has reportedly stated football clubs that fall into administration have gone bust and that should be the end. No CVA nonsense, the end, just the same as liquidation. No history no going forward. I agree with that. Why creditors accepting tuppence in the pound makes any difference is utterly ridiculous, the club failed end of. Pay 100% of what u owe or bust. Only this will deliver financial integrity in football. Clubs will no longer over extend themselves with a ridiculous admin cushion. {Ed007's Note - Well go and annoy Alan Sugar about it, neither myself or him wrote the rules. All he is doing is giving an opinion, you do know that don't you? You can't even give an opinion of your own, you're using Sugar's.}

Agree0 Disagree0

4/10s refers to how far along the road Brian Jackson considers Hearts are to coming out of admininstation after his brokered CVA in principle deal with UKIO who hold 30% of the shares & Tynecastle which will see these assets handed to Foundation of Hearts(supporters trust) at a price. The other 4/10s to go is the yet unresolved matter of UBIGs frozen 50% share holding in Hearts which can not be sold as an administrator for that company has yet to be appointed.
The other 2/10s to go is mainly reachng a deal with Romanovs relative who holds a 12% shareholding in Hearts.
The total Hearts debt is £28m mainly accumulated under the Chris Robinson era
Hope the above clarifies the current position.

For Mrs E, you seem to know a lot about things celtic, is it true the kids are being encouraged to wear halloween outfits on Saturday or are my mates taking the mick, cheers in advance .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No your mates not taking the mick although from what I've seen in the past few years, there's more big kids dressed up lol

Get the weans in their Halloween outfits and you as well!

Afternoon Ed007, tried posting this earlier, what happens if rangers and celtic meet in the semi's or god forbid the final how do they resolve the issue of a neutral playing field, surely other grounds could be used as they do with some internationals, I personally won't and never have put foot inside ibrox as for the final why not murrayfield ( celtic v rangers ) {Ed007's Note - It won't matter. The SC final will be played at CP irregardless of the participants.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So your hatred exceeds your love of your club? If so, you are exactly the kind of fan that neither celtic nor rangers want turning up tarnishing the fans who come in good spirits.

Gaz.

Agree0 Disagree0

Put a sock in it Gaz and return to your cave. The op has a valid question, I wouldn't go near your ground in case I got asbestosis, and to actually give your lot any of my hard earned cash seems abhorrent to me. I love my club, but there are limits ;-)

@ (1) I respect your response to my post, I do go and follow celtic in good spirits, its just that I have no grudges against anyone because of colour or religion anyway don't want to get to heavy on this, I've no doubt celtic and rangers will meet again. And I'll be there ( paradise )

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 . Don't lecture the OP about hatred etc . Having looked at some of your posts on your own banter pages you really do have a cheek . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

DH, please enlighten me ( with quotes of course or your argument is flawed) ad to when I have posted anything which is filled with hatred?

Gaz.

Agree0 Disagree0

Worth noting that the Scottish government is basically paying to make ibrox safe for commonwealth games not mentioned in the msm

Agree0 Disagree0

More people wouldn't set foot in ibrox than would. I remember Brian Viner writing a piece in the independent about what he saw and heard on his only visit there and how it sickened him. The club formerly known as rangers practised heinous bigotry, the place is damned.

Agree0 Disagree0

To all celtic fans who won't goto ibrox for semi final that is pathetic. Support your team and sing our songs on their patch like a euro night it will inspire our team and rile them. Celtic fans can make a fair noise at ibrox with 7500 fans imagine old firm game with 25000 supporters.lets hope we win scot cup at home and would be nice to knock them out at ibrox on the way.
Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 . Firstly because the OP will not go to Ibrox is a choice of his own and not a sign of hatred . Secondly if you read my post correctly I don't mention that your posts contain hatred . You do refer to Celtic fans as " dhims spewing bile " and Celtic fans as ***** . You even asked one of your own fans if he would donate his giro to help the club . Nice . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

My thought with all this is in this comp or another and Celtic park is used and the newco are playing there that they will destroy seats or the bathrooms again, like they did last time, which I think they got away from it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on Jim, some people are just far too bitter whether they like to admit or not os a different story.

@ (1) Gaz I do love celtic, I won't give a penny to the rangers cause, as for hate, no where did I mention hate rangers, but I do despise ( loathe the sfa in the sorry mess it has brought on scottish clubs. who have gone about their bussiness by the book, anyway it's all about opinions that's what makes it interesting, look forward to your future posts

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate rangers and I'm proud to admit ut and it's not being bigoted thst makes me come to this disission it's the abhorant behavior of the club, company and large number of its fans over the years and for people to come on here acting appalled when they know the feeling is resipricated is a joke Iv'e read your post and I won't waste my time quoting them back for your narrow minded enjoyment

@1, 11, For you to come on this site and talk about hatred and bitterness is truly mind boggleing, the amount of $hit you talk and calling Celtic supporter's, dhim's, moron's and such like. We on this site know exactly what you are, so why don't you just fek off and keep your bigotry and intolerance to yourself
Tambhoy

Spot on tambhoy apparently we are the great unwashed as well, his posts on their site are very bitter and twisted mm

here edd my son? I was reading an article and it says wee only have one qualifier this year can u verify as I think its still 3 joe bhoy on the road again {Ed007's Note - We start in the second qualifying round again, so two rounds and then the play off again.}

I'd love celtic v aberdeen, I've resigned myself to the fact that nothing and nobody will stop them reaching their rightful place as numeru uno . That's why we as a club must get the transfers right next season no faffing about, they and their cronies would have has us dead and buried in the blink of an eye . {Ed007's Note - I disagree about the 'their rightful place as numeru uno' part...}

Ed can I ask that both sides of the old firm put their arguments and differences aside at this sad time with the news that fernando ricksen has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease the same illness which killed the late great jimmy johnstone I am sure that many celtic fan's may not have liked him when he was at rangers but I am sure they will pass on their best wishes to him like I do. I know this is a celtic page but I would hope that this post is not slaughtered. thanks ed.

jamesmcdee

Believable0 Unbelievable0

James, you'll not get slaughtered on this site. Both sides know the games just a game when it comes to matters of health and family. HH joe

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who is aad enough to disagree or make nasty comments on an item like this is certainly not a true member of the Celtic family. Football let's us escape the real world for a wee while. Sadly, the real world is not always kind. Thoughts with the man and his family as we all know from watching our greatest player fade away because of it. Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said. Terrible news about Fernando Ricksen. Thoughts and prayers to him and his family. Julieghirl

Agree0 Disagree0

Never liked or rated the man but footballs football and this is a mans health/life so I wish him and family the best in his fight good luck

Peter Lawwell on evening news tonight commenting on Dave King fitness vote and other stuff.
Typical daily rag saying 'a spokesman' from the LSE AIM said King was clear to be a director. I just cannot believe it and nobody else reported that.
Come on DR who stated that and what is their official appointment? And why is anonymity required?

How can the LSE allow a guy with 41 tax convictions to be chairman of a UK plc? It's just not believable. What shareholders of a Plc want that?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thought he was overly diplomatic and could have been more direct - especially on what Rahman called 'the Rangers issue?'
A great opportunity to speak on S(evco)TV sport and put them right once and for all on the garbage they churn out re: TRFC 2012 and he let them off the hook.
