I sit in the upper north stand with my mates we have done since the new stadium was erected. A few of my other mates (5) sit about 7 rows down from me and were moved from their seats they have paid for since 1996 to accommodate UEFA members. Or in other words sponsors mates. When I came in the ground on Tues I have never seen so many people asking stewards for directions to seats. Shortly after the second goal I glanced down to where my mates sit to find the seats empty. I would love to see a healthy crowd tomorrow to lift the team and to show them how much the club means to us. Tuesday is over we can't change it now but it's all about the next game and hopefully the fans will be out in force. . DH

Believable12 Unbelievable2

I get a chance to go to a lot of corporate matches through my wife. Pretty much without exception 60-70% of the sponsors ticket users don't arrive till 10-15 minutes after the second half starts. Nice big buffet and free bar you see mate! Makes you sick thinking of fans who miss out because of this. . . green jhedi

Agree2 Disagree0

Think your getting a bit inspired because of the zombies bleating about attendances it does not matter how many they get in there ground because they are paying a third of what we pay not to mention the free tickets and the half time let ins for nowt and certain media pundits declaring the attendance if they pack the rafters for Annan Stirling Brechin that's fine by me 40 odd thousand zombies clinging on to the belief that there club is still running still go on about most successful team in world titles first team to win div 321 and spl absolute delusional

Tre67

Agree0 Disagree1

Nobody mentioned the zombies or their attendances. I was only commenting on my mates who were moved on a CL last 16 match to accommodate people who have no intention of going to an SPL game or a midweek league cup tie because there's no glory in it. I couldn't give a toss about a 3rd division teams crowds. . DH

I would hope we can forget the Juve game tomorrow and get a good turnout as I was a bit surprised at the fact so many left before the end. This, as the result turned out, will probably be our last CL game at Celtic Park this year and I felt a lot of our players merited some acknowledgement at the end of the game. This is not a dig at fans travelling from long distances, especially driving home north, but you would have stayed if we won 3-0. To all the fans who called SSB moaning about the ticket distribution, which in my opinion was badly handled, come tomorrow. let's get behind the team and finish this league quickly, that way Lenny can start preparing for the CL qualifiers. Faithful through and through is not just the words of a song. . . . green jhedi

Believable12 Unbelievable1

I think the emotion and frustrations of the night took hold before the end.
Not only anger at the ref, but the pain of a very rare 3-0 home defeat - which even our only 2 previous home defeats in the tourney (Barca) didn't compare.
I knew they would probably be too difficult to overcome over 2 legs - but we matched up to them well on Tues -and bad finishing and basic errors hammered us at this level.
I agree that NL and the team should be Hailed and applauded for this campaign and when we win 4-0 in Turin they will be immortalised.
Whit?

Here here GJ understandable some folk trying to beat the crowds but the majority were having a go on the way out. Had words with a few of these fair weather big game charlies who aren't there week in week out, imo only the atmosphere at the barca game was up there with previous nights in paradise under wgs & Martin O'Neill. The looks you get from some people when your backing your team singing your heart out encouraging the bhoys is amusing to me. Forever & ever we'll follow the bhoys with our hearts souls & voices. GBNL AbS

Agree1 Disagree0

Why is it the fans who aren't their every week that's getting blamed for walking out? every week you get the " burger king " supporters leaving early

Agree1 Disagree0

No name poster guys like me never miss a game & the guys who sit around me have done so for years so it is very easy to see the big game charlies, also when you pull them up & tell them what you think none have said I sit here or there usually with my season ticket or tickets. AbS

Agree0 Disagree0

Abs just because am a no name poster doesn't mean iv not been a season ticket holder and have been for the last 20 odd year so don't flatter your self iv sat in the same seat since since I was relocated after the fire in the main stand well before the new stadium was built every week I see the burger king supporters leave early and I can assure you the same burger king supporters left early against juve

Agree0 Disagree0

Re the "burger King" response. Two guys from Manchester sit down from me and stay to the end every game, as do i. Chatting to them they say the day is a write off anyway so why leave? They have told me horror stories about the M6 football traffic. If they can do it. . green jhedi

I've no problem with the guys that go week in week out and leave a few minutes early, the ones I do have a problem with are the ones who turn up for the glamour games and it's apparently obvious they're out of touch with reality. A bloke and his wife were a few seats away from me on tues and you would think we were playing Cowdenbeath, East Stirling or The Rangers the way he was slagging the team off, he was having a right go at Lustig for not bombing forward down the flanks, when the 2nd goal went in he got up and muttered i'm no watching this p*sh any longer and left. Celtic need to look at better ticket distribution to keep those people away, a voucher scheme for non season ticket holders is the only way to go to stop those muppets getting tickets. . Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Order: season ticket holders, then champs league package purchasers then public sale. At least you then reward true supporters first.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't have the answer to this but the stadium is a different place to when it first reopened after development. Prior to that the atmosphere and criwds were rotten and then the Hampden season rotten. After that though it was immense. Every home game was great. I can even mind midweek games that were live on stv in middle of winter and stadium was full and atmosphere great. Maybe it was to do with di canio etc I don't know. There was no green brigade etc in those days so I don't understand why it has got so bad now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Iv said the point on here before and am not being critical of the green brigade but now their their too many fans around the ground think its just the green brigades job to sing and they can just sit and watch the game theirs guys next to me who seem to watch the green brigade more than the game itself we need to get more fans joining in spl matches not just europe

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry guy's can't see how you can pick out the glory hunters, where I sit people start to leave with at least twenty minute's to go, why pay for a ST if your going to miss twenty minute's of every home game, there were two women who sat in my row for the past two years and they came in late every game and went away early every game? where was the sense in that.

CELTIC are to run the rule over two trialists from Reunion on the recommendation of ex-Parkhead star Didier Agathe. Luidgi Hoarau and Xavier, both 16, will head to Glasgow early next year in a bid to try and win a deal.

Now that the Celtic squad has so many players of colour would it not be fitting to remember Celtic's first black player of the modern era, Gil Heron, father of the musician Gil Scott-Heron with a tribute at the beginning of April when both had their birthdays? Also might be nice to send Efe Ambrose (regardless of what you thought of his performance)out before kick-off with his African Champions medal to receive supporters' acclaim.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Lenny needs to drop it, yeah we didn't get the decisions on the night but that's football. We as celtic supporters feel hard done by because of the ref. but in all honesty what will it achieve? Won't change the result! Uefa won't re-play the match, its time we just forgot about it and moved on. we can't complain anyway, many a time we have got away with stuff we shouldn't of, that's football. let's move onto dundee utd now, can't be thinkin of juve and refs when we kick off.

ED007 got a few things to say.
Firstly, I believe Lennon to have the makings of a first class coach, but he got it wrong on Tuesday. Why rest 9 players then play a player who had to travel around the world? Ambrose too should have been honest and said he was not fit to play, but Neil picks the team so blame rests with him. I hope at press conference today he holds his hands up and admits this mistake.
Now on to the future, I see Hooper is being touted to go to Tottenham and Wanyama to Arsenal/Man City. As we know Hooper's value is now only about £5m+ add ons. Wanyama, hopefully we will get £10m+ add ons. I think we should be looking to replace these players BEFORE we sell them.
Charlie Austin/Jordan Rhodes are obvious replacements for Hooper but both will cost all of Hooper money plus some more.
Wanyama will be more difficult to replace but at least our midfield is fairly strong with Ledley, Brown, Kayal and even Mulgrew can play there.
But as we are going to have a more difficult CL draw next season we need players in and adjusted ASAP.
Miku will also leave as will McCourt and probably a couple of others.
Even though our finances are healthy, we know the board will take the £15m+ for both players mentioned but I worry about how much Lennon will get to replace them. Let's hear all your views guys. HH Timalloy

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Timalloy! firstly Big Efe has been superb all year! secondly we lost to a team called JUVENTUS! you may have heard of them? Big italian team play in black and white. And considering Celtic have brought in relatively unknown players and made the last 16 again is an achievement in itself and a credit to all the hard work behind the scenes at Celtic. And lastly Lenny isn`t to blame for anything! look back over the last few years prior to Lenny, and John Park is doing an amazing job at bringing in unknowns and turning them into stars, the village attitude is to blame celtic and Lenny for losing against Juventus, get a grip ffs, you should be happy we beat Barcelona in the manner we did, we have a young team with quality players.

John Keir

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Timalloy should be heard out here. I agree with all his points made, especially the one about lennon's tactical blunders against juve. People who come on here and voice a constructive opinion should not be vilianised because his post doesn't fit into the 'we shouldn't say anything bad about the manager because we have blind faith!'

The truth of the matter is he got it very wrong. Firstly mulgrew is the best centre back at the club, but gets played out of position ( constantly) but also in our most important game to accommodate ambrose who of course had been jetting half way round the world earlier that day. Secondly no Ledley in midfield to accommodate an out of position mulgrew. Then we decided against the best team we have come up against that we should play a narrow three man attack with no width that included the three smallest players on the team taking on the juve centre backs! These being Forrest, hooper and commons. And to top it off Forrest had never played for us as a forward in this set up only a winger. And he wasn't even fit!

I also have to say, why is it that we are trying to blame the ref- again?! we have played in Europe enough times now that we know about cheating, diving and referees yet we never wise up and give these other teams a taste of their own medicine.

Another thing that stands out is that celtic have struggled ( again this is just an opinion!) to get a quality and commanding centre back with European stock since the likes of balde, you cannot paper over cracks forever, otherwise we will continue to be 'European underdogs and nothing more'.

Though Lennon got it wrong that night and a miracle will indeed be needed for the next leg I do believe Neil is a very talented manager and will keep learning and improving.

I should end by saying that we are capable of beating juve. But my point most over in this post is that fans should not criticise others because their views are not in line with the naive trend of accepting failure and not pointing out where managers and players screw up.

Prediction for today is a 3-2 home win against wee jackie.

Hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

I s ee your points, and I can understand them, I would have liked Ledley playing in midfield, but my point is we don`t have the team to really take on these established teams yet, a lot of hard work is going on at Celtic to get players in that are up to the job. And also I felt Lenny is becoming a victim of his own success, and that we should be happy to be in the last 16, realistically we shouldn`t be in it if you look at the prices of the transfers paid to make up the squad we have and the progress the club has made over Lennys reign as manager, I get defensive over lenny as I think the job he has done so far excelled my expectations of him as a manager and i'm pretty sure there are a lot of people who didn`t think it was a good idea him getting the job in the first place. This post and the above post is only my opinion! but I also feel it`s so easy to be critical of a manager who is doing a good job after the Mowbray era there was a lot of building needing done and still is, my first post want meant to vindictive of anyone, I just got carried away in a wee rant, HH Keir

Honestly still devastated at the scoreline from Tuesday and I've yet to watch the highlights.

However there's an article in the Herald today that is a good read. Antonio Conte's remarks are quite flattering.

'So they can play? It's not just defence, setpieces and a kick-and-run counterattack. And this noise is a bit off-putting'

Antonio Conte acknowledged that he has never experienced an atmosphere like it. 'A poorly-prepared team could lose a several goals in that arena, he said. Celtic didn't look out of place. Their tactic in squeezing Andrea Pirlo with Kris Commons worked. The artist was more or less nullified. Juventus received immense praise in Italy, which is telling it isn't ever offered when the opposition is without quality and merit'

Mrs E did you see the article in the Scotsman I think, which stated "Juventus scouted Mallenco"
the article goes on to say that they knew of the danger from Celtic at corners and set pieces, and wanted to know how far they could get away with by the referee, their research showed he was weak at penalising holding, hence all these tactics.
In one way it is a big compliment to celtic as they were genuinely worried at the threat we posed from corners. Timalloy

Agree1 Disagree0

No I haven't seen that atricle Tim.

Its the scoreline that's the scunner for me. We tried to beat them playing football and they beat us with experience.

On the plus side, Celtic will learn from this and can only enhance Neil Lennon's managerial skills (i reckon anyway).

They obviously paid Celtic a huge amount of respect and took no chances.

On the night we out-classed a quality team, there playmaker in the middle didn't do anythin close to what he has done in the past against better teams (on paper) as they say! The fantastic celtic players and management should be given a lot of praise for the way the team played, juventus looked scared of us on tuesday night we had them in our back pockets until silly mistakes happened, decisions didn't go our way and as the 2nd post said that was juves tactics as they knew they couldn't stop us in any other way. I think we will go out of europe but not without a fight, we can come away from italy with a win, don't see it being enough to go through though but I believe we have scared them even more, they know the scoreline flatters them in a huge way. let's wait and see if those tactics work again, doubt it, different ref and with all the talk of juves tactics the ref will be looking for the holding players, pulling shirts and pushing broony down tactics. don't see them getting away with it again.

Agree2 Disagree0

Lets all be honest juve are a great side how many teams go away from home in the cl and score 3 goals juve got the tactics right we did not its a different level and a step up at the knock out stage and a tougher mentality only good teams go further we were punching well above our weight if celtic score 3 goals in turin then I will say yes we still deserve to be in the competition

Anyone else think this nonsense being attributed to Commons re Ambrose and his supposed response today is just the laptop loyal trying to instigate some trouble in paradise. Not one quote has been directly aimed at or actually implied. These remarks are only the responses of questions asked with the usual gutter tabloid sentences in between to make them seem so. They have even wheeled out Andy Goram to say how Commons would have been given a sore face. It must be strange for them having to go out and look for real sporting stories instead of calling the sources at Rangers getting the inside scoop of the upcoming big games against the likes of Peterhead etc etc. Watchout the transfer embargo is up soon, so we will see the 20million warchest being spent. Maybe they should allocate some of that to the 400k still owe.

All teams have friction in times of stress, why wouldn't
You be after that excuse for a referee.
We need to start playing the kind of cute football that Juve dished out on Tuesday and adapt to playing them, at their own game
