As OAB said it could be a bluff, but I doubt it.
If Brendan goes then that is up to him but I wouldn't blame the board.
Brendan knew the plan is to win 10 in a row, he has the players to do that.
There is a kitty sitting for emergencies incase they borrow or steal more money to compete at a higher level and its to make sure we get over the line.
Europe at this stage is all about the money, once we achieve 10 then we can start to compete at a new level in europe.
I felt that was the plan and the board are playing a blinder, just Brendan was not on the same page at this moment and time.

10 in a row is a priority.
Lawwell having 40 million sitting incase we might need it to get over the line.
Once the 10 is achieved we could possibly take a gamble in spending more more to get to a better level.
Until the 10 happens I am happy for the money to sit there because we are going to win the league anyway.
