Someone on here mentioned breaking tha bank for Joe Allen. I suppose that's out of the question now given his amazing contribution over 3 games in wales's historic campaign.
But doesn't he look like a Celtic Bhoy?

People on here scoffed at Joe Allen saying he's not the answer and not the callibre or player we should be looking at. He was before and still is an excellent player. I find it hilarious how deluded people that post on his page are and how little they know about the real world. Joe Allen would be the best midfield player at Celtic if he was to sign. I thought to myself before this tournament that it would be very far fetched to be considering him but now it just made it nigh on impossible. Good player in my opinion- plays the game well and works hard and is in good shape probably worth 10m in premiership modern day values therefor totally out of our league unless he really really really loves big Brenda.
{Ed001's Note - is the Celtic midfield really that bad? If Joe Allen will be the best you have, then it must be truly awful. And yes I have watched him many times running round offering nothing in the Liverpool midfield. He only plays well when given time and space to operate, when any professional should be able to do so. He gets overrun constantly in the English Prem, has no incision to his passing, can't tackle, can't shoot, has no positional sense but he does have a good beard.}

So yes they must be terrible because I'd rather have him than them. Although I like Johanson his recent form is rubbish. Bearing in mind just what I think I'm sure other people's views may vary. Need to add that on this site incase people think I'm talking factually. Just my opinion.
{Ed001's Note - I have to admit I have not seen you play much in recent years, just can't believe you have fallen so far that Allen would improve you! One of the least useful players I have ever seen. He just does nothing but run around hither and thither, without actually effecting the game at all.}

Is that what he did in the three Wales games that the original poster was talking about? Maybe it was a Liverpool thing and not a Joe Allen thing. I mean the much discussed Liverpool transfer comitee signed him for a few quid I think - not sure what he cost - so someone somewhere must have thought he would be a good addition even if he's not the highest callibre flair player that people want. He kinds of reminds me of what Ledley did for Celtic. Works hard off he ball and does a lot of the ugly stuff that not a lot of midfielders like doing but it's a very effective part of the team as Celtic discovered when they lost ledley.
{Ed001's Note - Rodgers signed him. Nothing to do with the committee, he was totally and completely a Rodgers call. Hence the Celtic links. Allen does none of the ugly things, he is bullied off the ball and opposing midfields bypass him like he is not there. If he did the ugly things I would love him, as they are my type of midfielders. I love players who can get stuck in and break up play, or have the intelligence to read the game to position themselves to close off passing lanes or runs. Unfortunately Allen does not do that at all, or he would be a much better player.}

being deluded and seeing the real world different . because we don't agree with you . have your favourite s. and opinions but don't attack others for theirs . imo Allen is an average to ok player (not some midfield maestro who has dominated the epl ) and the 3 Welsh games haven't my mind.

While only 1 Celtic player is at the Euros, Joe Allen has been the best player on the pitch in 2 of the 3 games he's played. And we are actually saying he wouldn't improve our team? Wow.

I really can't see what all the fuss is about Joe Allen?
Sure he runs about like a blue arsed fly, but he chases shadows most of the time and his touch is very heavy.
I accept he does look busy and committed, but he loses possession and is knocked off the ball far too easily and we already have a couple at the club who are just like that as well as a few who are a lot better IMO.

I must add I've not seen him much at Liverpool but him or Ledley would still have a place in starting 11.

Lm 67 we are watching different games/ player mate he was OK at best 1st game done nothing in 2nd and ok in 3rd . his work rate without actually doing anything is brilliant right enough. he also puts the ball sideways more than peter grant. and cavalcanti I would also take ledley back.

For me Johansen offers more than Allen so keep him n buy a top forward and a winger that can score as well as assist, unlike Forrest who barely did either when he could be bothered. A strong centre half and right back added to that would do nicely. Hail hail.

I have watched Wales three matches in the Euroes . The first match so -so. Wales were poor against England, they never really got into match .
Last night even though Russia were very poor, I thought Wales were exceptional and never stopped going forward 3 nil going on 6/ 7 . The best performance I have seen from a wee Country for ages . Joe Allen Bale and Ramsey were outstanding and also a very good back four .
iWork's have been proud if Joe Allan was a Celtic player last night .
Now I haven't watched him often so I am not judging him on his over- all ability but he was v good.
