What about Scott sinclaire? The gaffer made him a smashing player a few years back has stalled since chasing the man city big bucks. Plus wouldn't mind a look at his bird lol.

He was a cracking player at Swansea you're right. But that was one quite short spell, and he's been about. Man City was a bad move all round. Essentially it would all be about trying to replicate form from about four year ago, and considering his cost - would be a bit too much of a gamble for me. Saying that, come the end of the window, I'll probably be lamenting not signing Scott Sinclair. So aye I would!

why should we sign Scott Sinclair? I could put forward a better argument for signing kenny Miller llf. He has done nothing in his career to date. Tbh I couldn't believe city signed him in the first place. We need to stop battling clubs for pennies when trying to sign their players if they want 5m and he is worth 5m then pay it or piss off, don't start offering them 4.5m etc because you just make them less inclined to sell to you. How many players have we missed out on because the board wouldn't pay an extra couple hundred grand? . I mean we paid 2.4m for hooper from Scunthorpe yet we won't pay 3m for ellyanousy (spelling? ) and yes I know hooper was good for us but we didn't know that at the time.

Dundeebhoy there's no evidence that we wanted Elyounoussi in the first place, that's the difference. That's like moaning that we "won't" pay £50M for Harry Kane.

Kev Bhoy it's well known Rd wanted elynoussi and instead was given ckRichards so yes we did want him but the lunatics decided 2 sign a guy who by reports has now left on a free. Ed007 also confirmed that Molde were Willing to part with elynoussi but preferably when the season was over, ie this summer. Unsure what the situation is now but with Rd having left I don't see it happening now. Hail hail.

There is also no evidence that we have lost out on any player because of our refusal to pay extra few millions . Players that we may have wanted to buy, may not have wanted to come to Scotland .

Not quite the same thing kev, Yes it was only speculation but there's surely a reason we didn't sign him or someone similar, then went and blew thousands on wages on ckr and Cole to name a few. It can't all be parks fault or does he run the club? Peter Lawell and co are obviously trying to take clubs for every penny then offer teams insulting offers for their star players? And yes it is only speculation but it has happened far too often to just be made up lies. How many good players are we linked with every window that are in our price range yet we never seem to buy? One thing that sticks out for me is that we won't pay the transfer fees nevermind the wages and that was my point. Ellyanousy for example can't be on anymore than Scott brown if even that much so the only barrier would be the fee.

The Harry Kane comparison was obviously a big exaggeration but the papers are full of names every January and every summer. I agree with Old Bhoy, unless the club confirm interest in, or a bid for, a player then it's not necessarily true that the club wanted them and just didn't pull off the stops to get them. And as OB mentioned, a player can always just say it's not for them whether the club offer them decent money etc. Maybe not in the Elyounoussi case becasue he plays in a lower stature league but in general.

Maybe then the club are to claim since they never confirm anything until a players is officially signed, So you are going to create speculation and all I'm saying is it can't all be lies every summer for aslong as I can remember. Yes as OB said maybe some just didn't want to come here maybe we didn't want to pay the wages demanded but to even get to that point you need to agree a fee which IMO is the thing that is most likely to block it for us.

I agree that the club have penny pinched overall the past few seasons but I just thought it was unfair to claim that the club refused to pay £3M for Elyounoussi when we don't know any of the ins and outs, if any interset was ever actually expressed to Molde in the first place.

I never cease to wonder how knowledgeable our supporters are .
Despite having probably only recently heard the name of a particular player, they can often decide how stupid our club are for not signing him and don't forget it's nearly always Celtic's fault if he doesn't sign .
Half time the club had no interest but we let him get away.
