What is your opinion on Di Matteo for the next manager? Never thought of him before but now I think he would be a good shout What do you guys think?

Agree4 Disagree0

My choice would be Alex Neil but a name to throw out there, what about the Middlesboro manager?

I like the idea of someone like di mattio, I'd like the next manager to be someone that we have enticed to the club, rather than someone that's 'available'. This will probably get slated but I've always liked Tony Pulis, he probably wouldn't be interested in Celtic but I'd like us to aim high. In my eyes that's like what MO'N was when he came.

In addition to tony2bhoy comments - if there hadn't been any racist comments etc would people want Malky as manager? I don't know much about his tactics/ managerial skills, but wasn't he once quite well respected?
I'm not advocating racism, however can anyone hold their hands up and say they're blameless when it comes to saying things we shouldn't.

Do matteo or malky if that was the only choice?

I am with Tony2bhoy in that I think Di Matteo would bring some needed european experience and a great pedigree as a player also, he surely would command the respect of both players and the fans. I also think he would weed out the troublemakers among the squad pronto.

Matteos a strange one started well with wba then sacked. . got Chelsea job as in right place right time then punted after 8 month despite being in charge of a cl win. then just under a year at shalke then resigned. imo wouldn't chance it. don't think alex neil is ready yet imo still to prove himself.

How about Di Matt do with Steve Clarke as Assistant? Would know each other from Chelsea days, think Clarke is more suited to coaching than being the main man but these two together, with their experience I think would make a great pair.

No matter who the board decides on, it will be a lottery whether we have the right new manager or not . After a couple of years we should have a clear idea of the quality& suitability of our appointment.

We are in a bit off a mess right now. Pl stay or go? RD out. We knew it already but RD confirmed there are players that aren't on side. My main concern is the dead wood. We haven't managed to shift anyone in years and have too many with time to run down that are worthless. Even with a new manager coming in the usual is for him to be given time to look at the squad. By the time that is done and new targets drafted in the 12th hour we will have a bigger squad than we have now. We have cut our wage budget year on year. Asset wise rogic could walk, sj after his abomination of a season could go for 4,NB likewise. We really have to take a hit this year, invest and post a loss. Throwing money won't fix it overnight but I say we have to. Solid experienced players that will start and if 25+ just accept we may not make money on them a few years down the line on resale. Competition money wipes these fees out. Gate fees wipe these investments out.

Be mad to let rogic go

Some of the possible "dead wood " are coming to an end of their contract so we should be free of them soon . Mulgrew, Commons Forrest& Lustig are all in their last yr of contract as are some of the less than exciting strikers that are out on loan .
It is very difficult in order to entice foreign players to Celtic we have to offer more wages than they turn out to deserve and so we get it hard to move them until they are willing to go.
