Could we play for 4 3 3.??

If not what formation do you think suits the players we have!

Agree0 Disagree1

How about 3 5 2?

I had been thinking it for a while and someone mentioned it a few weeks back. Lustig, Jozo and 1 other from the bad bunch of Boyata, Mulgrew or Ambrose as the back 3. Janko on the right. Probably Izzy on the left. Any 3 of our 95 midfielders and a front 2 of Griffiths and dare I say it, Stokes who always plays better with a partner.

Just realised how bad our squad actually is!

Hi mate, we were actually speaking about this last night. I would try a 3-4-2-1, similar to what Liverpool have tried. I would play Lustig(right centre back) Simunovic(sweeper) and try Blacket at left centre back, - supposedly he plays centre half or left back, I've only seen him at centre back, but he's highly regarded down there, and left footed, and he's only played one game so people slating him already really should sort themselves out. I would try Izzy(who as we know can't defend/is appalling in the air) as left wing back, and Janko on the right, who once again seems to be neither right back or right winger. I'd stick with Biton/Brown as the sitting midfielders, and play Armstrong and Johansen behind Griffiths. I must say though that this has to be the worst Celtic strike-force we have had in my 30 years going to games. Even in the dark days we had guys like McClair/McAvennie/McInally, after that we even had the 3 Amigo's. If Griffiths gets injured we would be as well shutting the stadium, and we haven't brought a kid through that plays up front since Maloney, it's a total embarrassment!

Quite similar to my thinking Niall, - a back 3 would suit Lustig, that's for sure, and Izzy should never play in a back 4, he simply can't defend the back post, the worrying thing is the coaches haven't worked on this, he has been a first choice under different managers. I wouldn't even have Ambrose or Stokes on the bench though, big Efe seems like the salt of the earth(unlike Stokes) but he is not even close to being good enough. I like Deila, his ideas, but persisting with guys like this just give his critics ammunition, and make me wonder what is going on. I would also have guys like Nesbitt on the bench before troublemakers like Commons. If players don't have enough about them to respect the manager, and work and train harder then let them train on their own. He isn't doing it for a joke, he is trying to make the players and club better. It's like when you have left school, you always look back and think I should have knuckled down, these players will do the same. All we hear about is them having a short career, if they can't train like other athletes then it tells you about their character. Rugby league players/boxers would p1ss all over these guys.

Gordon
Lustig boyata blackett
Janko brown johansen Bitton Izzy

Hopefully Rd gives us a change in formation we have become far to predictable no team that plays 1 up top are winning anymore

I think we all agree 4-2-3-1 works if we have the right players. With squad we have I think we should keep it simple 4-4-2.

If Mike Bassett was our manager we would be playing "four, four, f$$cking two"

Good point Liah. I sometimes wonder if they train with imaginary balls as well when I see some of the play during a game. Hail Hail.
As Brian Clough said at half time at Derby when they were getting beat (no half time team talk and he appeared for two minutes) "My fault lads, I picked the wrong players."
