I think it's quite telling that only one team are reportedly interested in vvd. If we can bring in a solid centre half who's priority is defending and not free kicks and surging runs then I think it's good business. In my opinion Virgils defensive skills will be sorely exposed in the epl and show him to be the luxury centre half he is.

I don't agree at all, I think he will prove to be an excellent defender. During his time here he has always had either a liability on his right in Ambrose, or a liability on his left in Emilio, or sometimes both! Playing alongside Ambrose for instance, he's had 3 men to mark - his own opponent, Ambrose's opponent and Ambrose himself! If you put him in a solid back 4 I think he'd be immense as the bhoy has the lot. Hope we've got a sell on clause in there as he'll be heading for a bigger club within 2 years

LM 67. Just another repetition of the nonsense about Efe and Izzy, two international players who have always given their all for the team. VVD makesmistakes every game,he has the potential to be a good centre half at a high level, but at the minute he plays for himself. As for Izzy when he is dropped take some time to see what it does to the teams style of play, he is responsible for starting about 60% of our attacks

They might give their all, but their all has been proven time and time again to be not good enough! I agree Emilio is good going forward but he is defender first and foremost and is therefore not fit for purpose

I think vvd is an excellent prospect. However the hate campaign for izzy and efe is getting beyond a joke both these players were good enough to play cl and qualify for last 16. Said before if izzy is getting caught out its up to the lcb to drag him back and give him the notice of for one of the dcm to drop back.there is 2 of them after all . Efe looks lost now, confidence is at an all time low and every wayward pass is greeted with a groan on the other hand every time sj gives the ball away it goes unnoticed.

Definitely no hate campaign from me, I've always defended both players because you can tell they love playing for Celtic. However, its a results business and a lot of our bad results are normally down to individual mistakes from either player. Enough is enough

LM67. I am afraid that is just another sweeping generalisation. Neither played against Malmo which was a disaster in a big game. Players make mistakes all the time, on Saturday Janko got to the bye line a number of times and the hit the first man! with one forward that is on balance the most likely outcome but if it is Efe izzy or Forrest then they are pilloried. Sometimes I think people just repeat what they hear with no thought
