Ed and fellow bhoys does any one know why celtic extended Dylan mcgeouch's contract? It just seems strange as he's played no part of pre season and I doubt he'll play any part this season. Surely he should be looking for game time similar to last season

Ed 007) if its the case that we gave him a contract so we get a fee, I take it we would make more out off the fee than we pay for his contract?

IMO it is the same as Jackson Irvine , DMcG is 22 and we are due compensation for anyone under 23!
Out of curiousness Ed any idea the level of compensation for JI?
I agree it will not paint us in a good light to treat young players like that

Celtic are run by business men as a business and although its morally wrong its in the clubs best financial interests if you look at it that way?
{Ed007's Note - Morally wrong? It's scumbag levels of wrong if and that's a big IF, it's true. As a free agent McGeouch would have a lot more options if he was a free agent plus he'd get a higher signing on fee and wages because there would be no fee involved.
Why release the players we have though and get McGeouch to sign a new deal, that's what I don't understand. It sends out a terrible message to other youngsters and goes against everything the manager has said about helping young players make the right decisions for their careers. We'll need to wait and see how it pans out - I know someone who thinks McGeouch was re-signed to use in a swap deal with Scott Allan or that he was re-signed to make sure Hibs couldn't get near him to replace Allan take your pick from the lunatic fringe's opinion there lol.
And if what we're talking about is true the lad's needing to have a word with his agent as well.

Hearing hibs will make a move for McGeouch this week or next and also heard that Deila is keen on Scott Allan but Collins isn't which is why there's hasn't been a move made, don't believe that one myself but I thought I'd share it anyway
