Don't we all thing that we are living in different times so we should support all that are wearing the famous hoops.after all it's the shirt we support and not the wearer of the shirt.hh

Basically your saying its acceptable for a player to be utter pi$h and not of acceptable standard to play for celtic, just because he is wearing the hoops?? What planet are you on?😂😂😂😂😂

DN30, whether a player is utter p*** is actually irrelevant. They don't pick themselves. They don't force their way in to the team. They obviously don't want to be considered p***. They are chosen by manager (and coaches) because they think they are the most capable and competent to achieve whatever the manager highlights as "the objective". I think Xc is simply saying that we should support whoever is out there. In the context of the 90 minutes, there is absolutely nothing to be gained by booing or becoming negatively hysterical over the performance of a player. Equally, we shouldn't "forget" misplaced passes or players shirking from tackles or being plain lazy, but we need to channel or dissatisfaction in a way that doesn't upset the team. That is why we are called "supporters". I mutter and moan and cough up the odd expletive but I know it wouldn't propel the player on the receiving end to greater heights or help to build their confidence. Imagine the player who is having a "mare" is within earshot….are you the type to shout "come on Efe son, we need better passes than that …" OR "your f****** s*i*…your a disgrace…" The latter, in the context of the 90 minutes and in your role as a "supporter" would be extremely detrimental and damaging.

I expect one thing only from ANY player fortunate enough to wear our shirt.Effort. Total 100% blood draining effort. Every player has days when they are not at it,and seem unable to reach speed. These are the days when we need to help players. I remember a game,Dundee Utd away I think, when Tam Burns was having a howler.Every thing he tried went wrong.Second half he was a demon. He was outstanding. He later said it was the fans singing his name at half time that spurred him on. Some of our greatest nights have been support inspired,Ronny and the players deserve this at least as the players effort,at the moment is not in question.

We all want the same thing for Celtic to be the best they can be But on saying that we all have an opinion as to who should be in the team or who should not for whatever reason and I think we all should be able to voice our opinion on that subject on sites such as this and try not to be to harsh on the individual at the time they are on the park if possible after all we are only human with thoughts of what is right and wrong and if you are paying good money to see a team you should get your money's worth not just watching because your friends or family watched before you but because you want to see and be entered

Paradise I think your wrong IMO when you think players should be exempt from negative feedback. These people are professional athletes not 7 year olds. If a player getting paid a fortune can't have skin thick enough to take criticism when he does something that's unbecoming of his profession then he doesn't deserve the title athlete. I'd also like to add that I would be very surprised if a player took any notice of fans jibes as they should be totally focused on he game. Do you think when a player makes a howler of a mistake the manager should place an arm on his shoulder and say ' listen Efe I think we both know you keep making silly mistakes so let's not get upset about it just try harder, how about it big stuff let's see what you can do'
During sports if my manager started screaming at me telling me what I've been doing is below standard and not good enough I personally would respond better than if he sat me down with a cup of tea and a tea cake and reflected in a civilised manner.

Once a player done the hoops we, the fans, get behind the individual. Some we like, love even, some we don't take to. I remember in the early 70's Harry Hood and Tom Callaghan, two great footballers, being made the scapegoats amongst our support. All players have poor games, stinkers even. Even Jinky had his share of off days though with time that is forgotten. Some frustrate with Sampras being the most recent example but once the hoops are on we should get behind them all. That's the Celtic way

Football is a game fir grown men. If your pish and somebody who is paying your wages shouts that, then either do something about it, or leave.

It should not be about sentiment. Your either good enough and uf your nit boo flumping hoo. We would all loved to have played for our team, but, we wurny good enough. Telling someone they ain't either is perfectly legitimate.

If they don't have the mental strength to deal with criticism and prove people wrong, they probably shouldn't he there.

If we say the Celtic Jersey doesn't shrink, then let's realise what that means. Players need to man up or bolt.
