An offer has been made to Everton to take James McCarthy on loan.

correct me if i am wrong, but is McCarthys contract not up next season, if we take him on loan come jan he can sign a pre contract with us. so we will receive him for a loan fee this season then nothing next season. a couple of seasons with us and no doubt he will go back to the EPL for a decent amount considering he is only 25.
fantastic piece of business if we can get it through.

Why do we do this time and time again? Bank a decent cheque and then scrimp in the bargain bucket with either cheap crap or loans?
McCarthy would be a good signing but what is the point in a years loan when we won't be able to afford him at the end anyway? Makes no sense.

Niall i would imagine if its a loan there would be a fee set for option to buy.
I wouldn't stress about the loan rumours there's nothing concrete to confirm this it could still be outright buy mate.

Think there will be am option to buy and if not we've got a very good player for the next year like wee paddy and it still frees up cash for a permanent signing calm doon bhoys.

That's not what bothers me. We will spend the rest of the time until Wednesday night trying to tie this deal up and we won't spend another penny.
I just thought for once we would spend a bit of the money we are about to make on a few decent signings.
