Alrite guys, any truth that Scott Allan is to be released? I know br will need to cut the squad down but think we should give him a good pre season before cutting our losses?

He's not good enough for celtic but can't see him being released when we could probably make our money back on him.

He's not had enough game time to say he's not good enough for Celtic, I agree with gmac 84 he deserves a good pre-season before we just discard him, same applies to Logan Bailly .

We bought a player from the Scottish championship and people expect him to walk into the the champions team.
He has nothing his entire career.

Liam Henderson and John Mcginn play championship, they'd walk straight into the lineup, I agree before that he's done nothing but he deserves a chance.

Surely L Henderson was loaned out to the Championship as it is of a lower std and it was likely he would get more game time . It's always difficult to know if a player can make a step up from a lower league .

No they wouldn't.
I am a big fan of henderson but he wouldn't just walk in.
Mcginn looks like he will be a good player but has still to prove it at a high level.
Both are better than allan though.
Henderson is one of the main reasons that make the Allan signing a mistake.

iv no idea what went on there, why were loaning out youth who should be playing for us doesn't make sense. If there not ready fine, I'd have Henderson over brown every day of the week. Far better footballer! I'm not sayin Allan is great but definetly deserves a chance like Christie, Nesbit etc. Sorry bit of a rant, I'm just sick of us neglecting our youth when it should be a conveyor belt of good young players. Like Ajax, feyenoord and Psv.

Guys a few of you are getting yer heads in a spin for nothing. No-one has said anyone is leaving yet. I'm sure some will leave and a few might come in but the new manager's coat is still swinging on the back of the door. Give him a wee chance to look at what we have first!

The only reason for signing Allen that I can think of was to stop him signing for Sevco.
Hopefully with BrenDan in he can bring him on and improve him into a first team player.

I think Scott Allan has something decent in his locker. The lad is keen to play and he deserves the opportunity to show what he can do. If he fails to do that then we should punt him but it's a bit harsh being so critical of him without him getting a chance to do something. He has been a bit part player here and a bit part player there. Just because Ronny couldn't find a place for him doesn't mean he can't be a decent player for us. Let's be honest, Ronny's structure and gameplan wasn't anything to shout about, or have we all forgotten that already!

The most disappointing thing I have seen in all the new and young bhoys who got a chance last season Scott Allan didn't seem to put the effort in to show he wanted to impress, he tried to play on the peripheral of the game.
{Ed007's Note - You're spot on, Chris, he never looked that interested when he played, there's no excuses for lack of effort, especially when you're supposed to be trying to earn a place, games seemed to just pass him by.
Craig Gordon, Leigh Griffiths, KT, Rogic, McGregor, Sviatchenko, even Christie and Aitchison against Motherwell are all examples of players getting a chance and grabbing it. People make the excuse that Allan hasn't had a chance but he has, he's just never done anything when he's been given it.
Would KT be first choice LB if he had put in performances like Allan has when he's been playing?}
