Quite a few negative posts after last nights point.
After a long season it is now time to see it over the line and give the players who do start encouragement. We all have our favourites, i prefer Bain to Gordon but it ain't going to stop me from praising Gordon who did well on his return.
7 is sealed let's see it out then we have the summer to reassess players in and out and push for 8 in a row. Players feed off encouragement let's get behind them all.

Stan. Hopefully over the close season we can get to grips with why we are so inconsistent especially at home.
Our flair players have been very up and down this year, even in individual matches they promise things at times but too often drift out of games whether that's due to having a lot of injuries or lack of confidence I'm not sure.
I've always believed though that the timing of the Champions league qualifiers is a big handicap for us. These are high pressure games so early in a season that it takes a lot out of the players emotionally even before a ball has been kicked in the league. Added to that, if we do qualify there is no time left to buy better quality players to help us avoid some of the hammerings we get in that competition, those hammerings affect confidence as well.
I don't suppose it will ever happen but I would like to see the qualifiers played at the end of the season rather than the start, that way we would have time to budget and bring in the quality of player best suited to whichever competition we are in.
Teams who play relegation and promotion play offs play these at the end of the season it allows them time to get their squad organised for whichever league they are going into, it would seem ridiculous for a team to be promoted then start in that league 2 weeks later but that is what we face after the CL qualifiers.
This doesn't just affect us, most of the major leagues in Europe have their seasons at the same time as us, so I'm surprised that some of the clubs from these leagues don't seem too bothered by it.

Good comment Gerry, to be honest being Champions we should not have to qualify. It's disgraceful that teams who finish 4th go straight in ahead of clubs like us.
